You only need to cool hotplate down to 80-90c to avoid moisture boiling. Then you can add new board and leave it to dry off a bit before upping it to soak temps right under reflow temps.
If you don't bake a bit before the reflow you end up with the paste and flux just slumping out across the board.

The problem with Bluetooth seems to be adoption due to the licensing and fees.
Concept of standardized services being exposed in a searchable format with data and events being broadcast or subscribed is a good one.
Problem comes when it is being used as just a stand-in for the old serial link. This happens on USB as well, with virtual com port (VCP) over USB being very common as then the rest is "as usual". On BT and even BLE the same thing happened. Almost all BLE devices implement a custom endpoint and it in turn acts as a VCP with some unknown proprietary protocol. This was exactly what the GATT standard was supposed to prevent. Any BLE capable software should be able to connect to a device and ascertain that it provides certain services and utilize these. Wireless thermometer? Standard profile. How about a magnet switch for intrusion detection? There's a service for that as well. Heart-rate? Yep, a service. Yet, in order to advertise your device supports this compatibility there are hefty fees involved as well as stringent "Trademark Enforcement Cost Recovery Fees" for stating you support/comply without having paid.

A real shame about BT; reminds me of a few other systems that killed themselves through painful costs and legals
