53: Reverie & Postlude

  • Two short pieces today (one very short!). Both pieces are by Leon Boellmann. The first, played on my Opus 377 organ, is 'Reverie' and the second, played on the Freisach sample set using Hauptwerk, is simply called 'Postlude'.

    Those pieces are so different! Very versatile composer. I thought you brought out the contrasts really well.

    Interesting solo in the Reverie. Was that the suggestion or something you chose? Great little postlude too.

      The Reverie had no suggestions. Just mp at the beginning and diminuendo to p at the end. It didn't even have a solo part or change of manual either. I just felt it could be played as a solo. I thought it might add something to the overall ethereal dreaminess of the piece.
