    Nice robot and nice unboxing. I have a question, if anyone has an answer. As the robot only has 5 arms, it can't move the U layer. How does that affect any solve ?

    That is just the coolest thing to watch. But I'm wondering how it manages not to use any U-moves... or any E-moves, either (granted, E-moves are unusual in most methods, but still). Oh, and can you switch methods to force it to use, say only Roux or CFOP?

    Try only turning the top side 90 degrees
    The robot can’t turn that side so it will be interesting to see what it would do.

    I timed the last solve at about 13 seconds... I average sub-13... I should get one of these so I have somebody/something to race lol

      It doesn't, you can see that there are some quarter turns especially around the beginning and the end.
      The reason why computers use more half turns though is because it's the most efficient way to solve it.
      If you reduce the moves required to only half turns (other than U and D moves), that's called a domino reduction. Domino reductions are useful for joining pieces easily and building blocks around the cube. The robot didn't do a full domino reduction in any of its solves but did do partial reductions.
      It seems it's method went:
      Partial domino reduction > solve as much as possible > solve remaining pieces with conjugates and commutators.
      It's absolutely not a viable speedsolving method but is great to reduce move count which is why people use similar methods in FMC

    Just got the robot, a gan 356 M, replacement center caps to make the cube compatible with the robot. I can't figure out a way to make the robot scramble the cube, even though it connects just fine to the app. Anyone find a work around for this? My main and only goal is to have the robot randomly scramble for me.

      @@sand6463 Yeah, that's totally true, but I just think the idea that anybody could buy it if they wanted to, even if they 100% knew they were never going to. Kind of like the fact that I was really rich, I could stay in a space hotel miles away from Earth itself. The chances I'll ever have that opportunity are incredibly slim, but the idea that somebody could do that is very cool on its own.

    I find it kind of boring that the robot doesnt solve it in CFOP. Would be much cooler because you could give it WR scrambles and see if it comes with a better solution than the pros.

      Jaya Pandey that would be very expensive and time consuming. Where would they get the supplies and funds? I’d say 99% of people have no idea how to engineer a robot, much less in a few hours

    I’m one of them guys who own a cube that has never been solved. I got no idea what I’m doing with my cube. I just randomly spin it hoping it comes close to being solved. I know you guys look for a pattern and go from there, what that pattern is? I got no idea. My cube is sitting under my t.v forever unsolved. Don’t get me wrong, I actually would love to solve it. If I handed it to you it would be solved in 5sec.
