  • This Drok 24V/20A power supply is great to power my Cobra 29 radio that can handle 15+ volts DC. However, the 10K voltage adjusting potentiometer that came with it is far too sensitive. So I bought a ten turn 10K potentiometer to make the adjustment about ten times less sensitive. This way if I bump the knob the voltage won't jump so much. Prior to doing the modification if you just bumped it with your hand, the voltage could change by as much as +/- 4vDC. And I know how real life works, so I wanted to change this as soon as possible to avoid catastrophe. I'm just sharing the simple steps I took to make this happen and make the power supply more useable in my mind.

Put some stiff foam behind the knob to cause some drag on the adjustment.

If I do this, I may just 3D Print a cover that goes over the POT knob to prevent it from being bumped, then I could just use a flat head screw driver at the end to adjust it.
    Interesting, thanks for sharing this!

The good news is you can bump it pretty good and it'll only result in the voltage chaning .1vdc one way or the other :) This has been a solid performer for me since I got it. The voltage has never changed from 15.0 the entire time I've been using it.
