I agree with Kev, touchdown zone is touchdown zone…Kinny, you know that!! Haha! There is never a good reason to not hit it, in my opinion. The advisory we will give is if we are super heavy and will need to have a long rollout long due to stopping distance!! I am a stickler for this stuff and you know I am. But fun video, as always, Kinny
Thanx. I looked after I ended the video & did make it down in the touchdown zone. Deployed the chute but took it easy on the breaks to roll to the end. If it weren't for Xplane float I would've landed on the center line. But, it's just a guie anyway. 😏🤣Thanks for the input. 🤟
Thanks for recording and sharing. Good to know the advisory procedure. I don’t typically PLAN to go long … it’s always a side effect of my bad landings. Regarding the touchdown zone: I think TDZ is about getting you down with enough runway to work with in case something goes wrong. I’m sure even after advising about a long rollout, the FAA would rather you get down in the first third and then have a long roll than have you touch down with only half the runway left. We’ll ask KB when we next chat. Nice landing in the video!
