The canopy bug might not be a bug. Did you close the canopy before taking off? Most people don't close the canopy because the instructor does it for you when you start accelerating. The problem with Carriers is that you accelerate so quickly it sometimes doesn't close in time and it rips off.
@@Enigma89 I can confirm that is exactly what happened, its not a bug. You can quite clearly hear the difference in the sound, especially of other aircraft. You snapped your canopy off (unintentionally, of course). They should probably change it so it either starts closed or auto closes when carrier spawning.
Gaijin doesnt realize the massive gold mine they are sitting on with simulator battles. if you look at the market now you will see that alot of modern simulator games dont have the variety of aircraft WT has. im over here praying that they wakeup and add more to Sim Battles since its pretty fun but at the current game the maps are extremely small and people just fly really low and really fast while spamming missiles. i would love to see the Korean peninsula like in Falcon 4.0. a large map will stop people from spamming the afterburner and be forced to not fly low if they want to get kills because lets be honest you wont be finding targets flying low. you need to use that powerful radar at high alt to find your targets.
Dude forget WT as a simulator game, I quit about 2 years ago, they actively fuck SIM game modes in the ass time and time again. It once was fucking fun AND you could get RP and SL from it. they took the fun, the RP gain and the SL. just stop playing this shit game, I had so much fun playing actual good games since I quit WT, best decision ever, even thought I have thousands of hours in it and basically all TT top tier.
Transonic at best. The F4D1 really isn't meant to be flown anywhere close to Mach either. Control surfaces lock up and you can't maneuver. If you use boosters to get better roll/pitch at higher speeds the wings will easily rip trying to pull around Mach.
Cool fights! Agreed that it's fun seeing all the different aircraft and how they perform :) the little history in the beginning of the video adds to the atmosphere as well :)
How would the game know that you were the cause? Awarding the nearest aircraft wouldn't work because if someone else happens to be closer to them when they crash they'd be awarded. It would be too complicated adding that mechanic.
@@RedTail1-1 It could be who has been closest the longest or whose missiles are locked on closest to the time of crash. But in the end I'd rather someone else get the kill that it to just be a crash, especially with the crew lock mechanic in ARB, if someone successfully maneuvers me into the ground why do i get a crew lock, or all the times someone decides they dont want me to get the kill so they purposefully crash.
Lastly I recommend using switch primary weapon when flying the Skyray. It will let you fire one pair instead of fiddling with two binds/triggers for each pair and give you twice the trigger time.
The Skyray is amazing at its BR & my favorite sim jet. You can even outturn J35s in a slow speed 1C with the trim tabs deployed in combat or landing mode. It's a plane that punches above its weight class.
Yeah it does. It's my second favorite aircraft in the game. It was my number 1 favorite until I started playing the F3H Demon. I have a fantastic K/D in the F4D1 Sim Battles
It is not a bug, you have to close the cockpit before launching from a carrier. There's the option in the mechanization menu. At 700 kph, it is a UFO, but otherwise it compresses at high speeds or doesn't pull enough at low speeds without burning energy.
Unlike any other jet, on the skyray you do want to use gun convergence because the guns are realy far out on the wings. Overall the Skyray gets a very modern package for its time. Good exceleration. Search and track radar, missiles, ballistics calculator for cannons and rockets, good foreward visibility, good manoverability and exceleration, the entire plane is designed for lower speeds compaired to the phantom and starfighter and the mig 21 which makes it feel a bit more like a F-16 rather then any other jet of its era. I earned it during the event and been loving it ever since. It is probably my favourite jet in war thunder.
Exactly the same high level flight characteristics why I so love playing mirage m2000s series in WT sim. Recommend you trying early Mirage3 or if money rather than tree unlock the event vehicle M2000-S4 on market place is pretty fun for the cost, but you will have to like terrain following as you will be fighting F14s
@@Enigma89 Cool, it actually became quite fun ever since the iranian F14 came out recently in event and a lot of people fly it thinking they can fly with eyes glued on radar screen and just sling missiles. They get quite the nasty surprise if you manage to sneak to close range with something as agile as M2K ;)
@@Enigma89the tech tree version has MAWS and a lot more countermeasures so I recommend not buying the event one and just asking gaijin to test drive the tt one
GKS Simulations just released the Mig-25 Foxbat for MSFS 2020. Since i have never seen/heard of it anywhere else, would you be willing to make a video on it? It is to my knowledge nearly fully modeled. I don't know of any other game where you can actually fly a Mig-25. I think it would be interesting for every cold war era fan.
@@Enigma89 Yeah i understand, BUT there is a weapon mod by the same developers :) And the radar seems to work too. But yeah, as you said MSFS isn't specifically for combat.
From personal past experience, GKS are good at making it *look* like a lot has been modelled but their systems modelling tends to be incorrect and their flight modelling is... let's just say that it wouldn't compare favourably with casual games in most cases. Against my own better judgement I bought two of their products (one FSX, one MSFS) and was severely let down both times - I would've been let down even if they were free, let alone with how much I paid. Don't make the same mistake I did and be the one who spends way too much money on something that isn't modelled anywhere near correctly just because nobody else modelled it... the entire civvie sim space is so full of shysters exactly because that business model keeps working for them and there isn't any quality control on the part of the actual sim developers themselves when it comes to third party addons.
@@rossmum Yeah those are valid points. I will still buy it because the Mig-25 is my all time favorite airplane, and there is, to my knowledge, no sim where it is nearly as well modeled. And from the videos i have seen on it, it is good enough for me personally. And i am quite sure that we might never see one in DCS - (But i hope i will be wrong).

If only WT actually had proper flight models. Aircraft feel so similar, wing stall isn't modelled properly, aircraft are just super stable even without FBW.. It just doesn't scratch the itch for me.

Pretty sure the J-7E still doesn't have it, and the "radar" that is has it literally meant directly for the gun, it's just a gunsight radar. And it even has the modern HUD yet still doesn't have this (I think, maybe it got added but it was missing for the LONGEST time).
