Welcome back. I am gonna give you PoV of someone who is playing the game since release. The release of TL didnt even start with many koreans at the first place. NCsoft has really bad reputation there. Majority of players are from Russia, South Asia, West. Most of the west players left after the first siege or two and are waiting for global release. Its nice you have data but there is much more to it. Game wasn't ready on release and most previous beta feedback was getting released week by week. NCsoft is really treating the KR release as a beta and preparing the game for GLOBAL. The devs are doing incredible job at listening to feedback - Ive never seen better devs in any mmo ever. Not saying its gonna be giga popular cuz its PvP oriented + P2W(but less p2w than bdo or lost ark). The game style just doesn't fall into typical KR game even if you swipe thousands of dollarsyou can still get deleted if you dont know how to block etc.
"PvP oriented" is instant death on these shores. Nobody here wants to put up with being killed by lonely losers while they are out trying to quest and progress. People claim they want PvP games, but they all die within 90 days
As of the posting of this message, on steam there are 27,648 people playing Lost Ark, and 25,022 people playing Black Desert(and unlike Lost Ark BDO is not a steam exclusive in the West). Yet when you look at the PC Bang charts there is a huge ranking difference between the two. I don't think the Korean PC Bang player numbers are really indicative of how well a kmmorpg will do or not do in the West. Not saying that Throne and Liberty will certainly do well in the West, but BDO was never really popular in Korea but it is one of the most popular kmmorpgs, maybe even the most popular kmmorpg in the West and still has a solid presence in the West even after almost a decade since release.
The game will do fine if it is fun. If it becomes unfun later due to power disparity gained from microtransactions, it will die. But it has every possibility to be alive, if only for a short time.
Look at Kanons interview question to the developer panel. Kanon literally asked him if he was aware how the west percieves the game as p2w garbage (his words) and pushed him on lucent.
