I love hearing the history of these different companies. It is a shame that some of them didn't last longer, but at the same time that also gives us some extremely collectible knives
Before I discovered your channel, I also found that the Harbor Freight 1" sander was perfect for knife repair. For sharpening, I use a half-worn 220 grit belt of good quality. So I had to smile when I saw you using the same tool, the same ways, that I do.
Had one of those Imperial boys knives, but it had 2 blades. The snap was unreal, and it took an awesome edge too. Ended up giving it to a friend. Great video Doc, have fun at the event today. God bless.
Hi doc great video as always, interesting about imperial and the birth of the clam shell knives they are in abundance here in the UK as we have Richard's of Sheffield who used the same design, I'm lucky enough to own a beautiful imperial prov ri cattlemen's knife with real bone scales (that are stunning) made between the late 30's& early 50's I'm not positive but believe there to be rare knives as imperial didn't use real bone for a long time in that period shame I can't send a pic as I'm sure you'd agree, keep up the great work 👍

I have recently found your channel, and it is really interesting and informative and good to see your passion for knives and fixing them and saving them 😀 👍
I've had a CRKT Ignitor for many years. ( I had to go get it out of its storage case). I love those Veff serrations. That was a really nice fix on the tip. Good as new!
Hi Doc, Might need to look at that Ignitor blade, saw alot of "burr" on it. Nothing a good proper strop or steel wont sort out. As always great videos love your work.
Do you do knife repair for other people? I have an old Buck Creek trapper style pocket knife. It's got good German steel blades that need a good cleaning, but it's also missing one side of its handle material.
@theknifedoctor I understand completely. I do appreciate you taking the time to answer me. Any information that I could get about someone who does such a thing would be appreciated. I'd like to get it restored if I could. I'd hate to see a good knife go to waste.
I don’t have much faith in getting shields from Case. I think I have inquired for a 40-64 a 70s and a 2000’s and it was no to all. I sent micrometer specs and asked for whatever they had that was closest to it and it was all 🦗 🦗
Companies like Imperial are a prime example of the American dream
No thank you Kevin y'all keep up the good work y'all are doing.

That’s awesome!! It’s a great sander for the money!
I bought 1x 30 with the disc. They didn't have just belt sander. I got two year replacement warranty. I like it
Awesome!!
