1:24 This is one of the mains reasons why I still keep using MetroCard instead of OMNY, to avoid enraged Sarah 😂 6:43 you can get in for free with the Bank of America Museums on Us Program which makes select cultural institutions free on the first full weekend of the month if you're a Bank of America cardholder 8:11 still need to pay for transportation between the Met and Chinatown or it's a long 2 hour walk 😄 Chinatown to Brooklyn Bridge Park is doable though
I absolutely love your videos!! I just got back from my first ever NYC trip and I had the time of my life!! I seriously couldn't have done it without your videos in which I binge watched before going to NY!! I can't wait to come back!
Oh Sarah... You don't know how much I invy you, just because the tickets for the MET... There are many paints on MET which I want to see since my College times...I will visit NY for my first time on april and the MET is on top of my list of places to go...But, unfortunately now, "pay what you wish" it's not possible anymore for people from Europe... Comparing the prices we pay to visit Louvre, with the prices we pay to visit the MET, the difference is almost the double...
Great video! Didn’t know that Time Out market existed, I must visit. Curious how you got from the upper east side to Chinatown and then BK, that would be a lot of walking!
Thanks for the tips. We're actually in New York now and ate at a good Italian resturant in little italy called Caffe Napoli you might want to visit if you haven't before.
I would’ve recommended buying a citibike day pass instead of using the train. You didn’t count all the train travel to get down to china town and over to Dumbo, which would’ve added another almost $6 to your days total. I’m not sure how much a day pass is with Citi Bike, but once you have a pass you can take unlimited classic bike rides for 30 minutes each ride. Definitely a more efficient and cheaper way to jump around the city if you’re trying to go a lot of places in one day! And then you stay above ground and get to see more of the city!
Also, they used Roosevelt Island in filming the 1990's movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Of course they referred to it in the movie as "East Lairdman Island" which is a callback to the creators of the TMNT Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird.
Do you still have to tip at places that sell pizza by the slice? So the pizza is $2.99 but did you have to tip 20% on top of that? Or is that just for places like restaurants that have waiters? Newbie to tipping over here!
And you Walked everywhere! Visitors need to know that you can get from A to B by walking. I was with a friend at the top of the WTC (RIP), and I pointed at the restaurant at 13th and 1st where we were to meet friends in 45 minutes. I said, "Let's walk there!" ... We were early.
Before heading to your Holidays in NYC, do research, watch contents like this w/ Sarah F, Here Be Barr etc, lot of tips. All you need to do is to subs and hit like everytime.🎉
We bought the 7 day metro card and the ride was included 😍 love new york love the subway 😀 great tips. Tap water was not that good smell of clorine, if filtrated fine 😀
I loved the Queensborough bridge, Roosevelt island and the tram cause theyre all in tbe final act of the first Spider-man film. I only took the cable car at night but it was beautiful. The seating on the island is really chilled out too
Will consider may yah's restaurant and time out market when I visit in February! You have to try the Malaysian beef jerky place in Chinatown which is also a great option if you haven't already! Thanks for sharing beautiful lady😘😘😘 xox
The Ramen museum in Japan had the same color your own design activity. Also, at the red brick district in Yokohama, they had the same food type warehouse at the end. I'm home sick for Japan😢
You are great to film the TH-cam. I got lots of useful information from your channel. The Chinese restaurant is from Taiwan. You should travel Taiwan and eat the foods which is more delicious than you ate in Chinese restaurant in New York. ❤
Ok so ima rant. Today was the phantom of the opera trip to NYC. and was gonna sign up for it but didn't because we were gonna eat outside in Times Square in the freezing temperature. And today I regretted not going. I MISSED A WONDERFUL TRIP BECAUSE I HAVE NO IMMUNITY TO COLD. But it should be good cause I might be going to New York after Christmas for a day :)
Nyc is more expensive. But there are a lot of things the city provides the residents for free. Like IDNYC, job training programs in animation and film and food industry, libraries, and more. People just don't know.
You forgot to include any transportation costs from The Met to ChinaTown and then to Dumbo. Sure it's possible to walk, but it is a VERY LONG walk and you had better wear good walking shoes.
You didn't include transportation cost. How did you get from The Met to the Chinese Restaurant to Time Out? Walked? Still enjoyed the video even though you might have gone a little over $20 with transportation.

I visit NYC a lot and I tell ppl all the time that you can visit the city on a budget….you just have to research and plan.
Same! People always think it's so expensive

These are such great tips! Thanks Ken!
Also, OMNY still doesn't work on the PATH just yet, which is a problem as Jersey City has many great hotels and AirBnbs you could stay in on a budget.
so they left out the ride to the Met, that's 2.75, now they over budget, again! lol
@@a55tech You could walk there.
@@davidempire4874 i kinda doubt they did the 2 hr walk. And that they walked from the last place back home.

Perfect Tips to know NYC without money!

Take any bus over the 59th street bridge. Same view as the tram.

At about 7:30, were you comparing the Met to MoMA? I don't think there's much duplication between the Met and Natural History.
The Met to the Museum of Natural History. To me they have some similar exhibits but you're right, the Met and MoMA are much more different!
u only eat 2 meals for day? in my country with 20 dollars its 3 meals
MET museum and Natural History Museum are very different (not the same).

how do you get to reserve tickets to the LV exhibit? I visited the website but didn't see any ticket reservations there. :)
