I’m planning a spontaneous, semi last minute trip to NY in February 25 from Houston. The flights are super cheap at $130 and I’ve found some reasonable hotel prices! Can’t wait!
I have to say I love this video coz there were so much hidden gems that were never featured in other NYC tour guides, often you just see the same spots featured over and over again.
We did so many of these when in NYC for 2 1/2 days last year, no surprise as I binge watched this channel to plan our visit. One of the best tips was using the East River Ferry. We took it early on a beautiful Saturday morning so nearly had the Ferry to ourselves. We caught it from the 34th St pier to Dumbo, 40 minute cruise with stunning views of Brooklyn and Manhattan for $4 - so good❤
I'd definitely recommend not over planning. These recommendations are great but inevitable there aren't in reality going to suit everyone. If you plan something and find it disappointing it's a real downer, sure choose some things, provide some structure, but the joy of travelling is always the unknown.
15 times!? 😂. I've been once, that's enough for me. There aren't that many notable things to see as there is in London or Paris and the city is pretty compact in comparison so you can easily see most of the city in 4 days. Plus ridiculous prices, poor quality food and people ripping you off all the time. No thanks.
I’ve been to NYC many times and was looking for fresh ideas for my most recent trip. This video is packed with great travel tips for NYC and is absolutely worth the watch. We managed to try several of the suggestions and had an amazing time. I'd also recommend renting bikes-New York has done a fantastic job creating safe bike lanes, making it a fun way to explore the city. Great video!
This is sooo helpful! And the timing couldn’t be more perfect! I stalked your channel just yesterday looking for something like this! And it’s here today 😍
As many times I been to NYC, I still watch your channel before I plan a trip there. I was there about two weeks ago & went to the Waverly Diner in the village. The vibe was chill & had an old school diner feel.
loved it. and love that city. adding the best jazz clubs on the planet. the bluenose, the village vanguard, smalls and mezzo, lunatico and many more. viva nyc
Agreed! Been here my whole life but I watch his channel to find out what’s actually here and worth it to try. There is just too much to discover. He makes it less overwhelming.
Thanks John! Visited NYC for six days in September and your tips were great. The burrito at EZ Paella & Tapas were awesome and the meatballs were even better! Sat at the bar and talked to the owner throughout supper, he even gave us a discount for mentioning your name. For lunch on a different day, we had the best lamb chops I've have ever had at BK Jani. In Midtown it's located in the HUGH, which looked like a condo with a doorman outside, but turned out to be this unique food market. Probably the best thing we ate in the city. Also was impressed with the pepperoni pizza with hot honey at Village Square Pizza in the East Village, even though it was a little out of the way. As far as activities, really enjoyed biking around Roosevelt Island, circled the whole island in 50 minutes with lots of stops for pics. We also kayaked on the Hudson River off Pier 96, was so impressed with the views from this volunteer lead free activity (although we left a well-deserved donation). Time Square Church had a great vibe, solid message and is in the most unique church setting ever - a renovated Broadway Theatre. The Highline was a more interesting walk then I expected too. After walking across the Brooklyn Bride, the public ferry ride from DUMBO to 34th Street in Midtown provided great views and a romantic time to stand outside and enjoy the breeze.
After watching a bunch of your videos, I took my wife to NYC last weekend for 3 days… we covered all the major spots - st.patricks church, trump tower, Central Park, Brooklyn bridge walk, Times Square, Statue of Liberty tour, Wall Street walk, summit at Vanderbilt, tour to the UN HQ and finally taking the tram to Roosevelt island and exploring there using Citi Bike! The trip was amazing and exhausting as well! The bleeker street pizza place had the most amazing nona maria slice!
@@glennstarkey7087I would disagree with that. New York has a wide range of restaurants at all price points. In other cities you are stuck with either fast food or high end dining. I would argue you could eat cheaper and better in NYC than many other cities if you know where to go. I was down in DC at their Wharf and their restaurants were way more expensive than a lot of NYC restaurants
Lots of really good tips on his videos that I have used on my many trips to the big apple. Only one I’m not a fan of is Tick Tock diner, found it to be massively over hyped. Murray hill dinner was a much better spot for breakfast (personal opinion).
Hi Johnny and folks. It was all yesterday on Monday. I had a bagel with tofu cream cheese and lox and iced coffee at Thompkins Square Bagels. Then I walked and passed by Russ and Daughters which I've never eaten at. I walked down Mulberry St for the San Gerraro Festival. It was a beautiful day. I did walk through Chinatown. I walked the Brooklyn Bridge and back. I went to the famous Dumbo spot where you can see the ESB underneath the Manhattan Bridge. I walked from lower Manhattan through Union Square, to Midtown. I grabbed a slice of pizza. I ate a bunch of cannolis at the Festival. I walked to Grand Central Station. Maybe, I found the food court. From the station, I went to the base of One Vanderbilt. Thanks for the Street Bites.
In 2022 we went to the elevated acre, i saw one of your videos and i remembered the spot My girlfriend didn't know what to expect from it 😁 But she found it a very lovely place Can't wait to head back next year! Thank you so much for the good tips! Whenever somebody thinks about traveling to NY, i always send him/her to your youtube Super helpful information! Thank you Greetings from Belgium
Love your videos; you’ve shown me how to navigate NYC better (I’m from CT and go occasionally)….going back this coming Friday to go to the Johnny Depp Exhibition (love it, second time going) and trying Summit in the evening….would never tried Summit, if I didn’t see your video.
We're heading to NYC for four days next weekend and this guide is a life saver. We're staying in Hell's Kitchen so I especially appreciate that you start your tour in Midtown.
Man, watching your videos while being out of the country is making me homesick! Been gone a few months, and now I can't wait to get back. You posted this at the perfect time, too. I can send this to family who'll be coming back with me; you've summed up everything I wanted to explain to them 😅
I actually went to NYC with my aunt and my uncle for aleast probably 3-4 days in June for a BFDI Tour and living their for 4 days felt like a place I never been when I actually went there 2 times ( including this one) I had a lot of fun in NYC
The first trip to the USA, from Australia, did 6 nights in New York. It was a blast, but I think I need to plan for another trip. Or 10 😂. There's just so much to see and eat
Couldn’t have come at a better time. Me and my wife are visiting in November for 4 nights and cannot wait! Going to visit a few of the places mentioned in this video. Just need to find a video of yours about watching sports in the city.
Buy a nose plug, for the smell, watch out for tats, human 💩, homeless weirdos, gangs of illegals, needles, over pay for EVERYTHING watch out for the RANDOM STABBER... fun
Visited NYC for the first time in July. Your videos were extremely helpful for tips on navigating the city and choosing what to do with the limited time we had. Can’t wait to go back!
I had an excellent cheeseburger at the Burger Joint in the Moynihan Train Hall food court. That location didn’t have very good reviews, but my experience was good.
You are amazing! We had an amazing trip back in June with all your tips and recommendations! We love NYC! Ill keep visiting through your videos untill next time ❤
Surprised not a lot of big name places made it here. I like joes pizza, artichoke pizza, Totto ramen, pomodoro rosso upper west side, el mitote upper west side and red rooster. What people don’t know is the basement is for shows. Last time we went we were a day late or we could have seen Christina ag for free in the basement. Whoever marcus decides he wants to bring in to perform he does. No real dates but just have to get lucky. Also Times Square diner is small but really good. Not the cheapest or most expensive but a lot of little things that make it good food.
Aside from restaurants which ate way too many rest pretty much all places on my visit lists 😀 Really great list! 👏 If anything maybe add few stores like M&M in Times Square or Century 21 downtown to add more variety 😀
I’m so proud of you paying off your college fees, that’s a huge relief and financial burden. It’s only akin to paying off a house mortgage ❤❤❤. Love your outfits and social outings, you’re really getting yourself out there. Those fur babies are so much part of your family now, it feel like they’ve been with you forever. Can’t wait til the next ep. ❤❤❤
Hi John. I love your Yankees jerseys. Is there a store where i can go and buy one? I went to the Yankee store near TOTR but the selection was poor. Thanks.
Excellent itinerary Jon, I’ve done most of those things but over a longer time. I was exhausted just watching it, but, I wouldn’t miss any of it. I love this ❤❤❤
Love your city. Great people. Great city. Was there in 1975. Traveled on the Greyhound. Explore the East Coast. Went to the White house ( you could then . I Met President Ford. He welcomed us to the USA. He shook our hands for the press. Sadly have not been back to your country. I spent Christmas with family in New York. WANTED to return but our South African exchange rate is a joke. In 1975 one.$ cost me 89 South African cents today it will cost me 2000 South African cents or twenty Rand per $.
Want to tank you for all your beautiful videos, with plenty of information and useful advices. Built up accordingly a full program of places to see and where to eat and all was worth it. it has been a fantastic experience. We returned home from 10 days and we are still fully excited! Thank you again!
Love this:) had a chance to visit New York for the first time ever from August 22nd-26th I’ll never forget it and definitely 2nd that summit gave me the best pictures. Would love to connect with you Here be Barr

This episode is a gem.
Watching your videos from South Africa 🇿🇦, planning to visit NY in November, so much excited for 2 weeks trip❤
Going to NYC this weekend and staying in Long Island City, this upload us super timely for me to have discovered!

not like our money goes far in NYC either hahah. you're very welcome.
