Well great players but not entertaining game IMHO. Backand to backhand rallies are boring. Of course I don't blame them, but I think that games between Wang Hao or Xu Xin/Ma Long were really enjoyable. Here it is only a matter of speed and backhand consistency.

THANK YOU! Even though Fan Zhendong won, I want to praise Ma Long's backhand and how safe his backhand is. I think Fan has one of the best, if not the best backhand in whole history of table tennis and Ma Long won almost every backhand to backhand rallies. It was Fan who made more mistakes during the rallies, even though he's considered one of the toughest players to beat in the rally game. If the opponent wasn't Ma Long, Fan would have won a lot more easily. If Ma Long's wasn't facing Fan Zhendong, he probably would have won the match, whatsoever. Amazing game.
However, Fan's backhand bailed him out in the last game. After Fan executed beautiful backhand winner down the line a couple of times which rattled Ma a little bit and gave Fan quite some confidence.
This is always the match of 2 greatest athlete in TT history, so it doesn't matter who won, the audience were enjoying the most beautiful of this sport and both won our heart ❤️

Ma has won the singles gold medal twice, but never the team’s. He even gave up competing for the singles this time just so he can focus on this match. This tournament has more talent than the olympics. You have to get at least 10 people deep before we hit the first non-chinese player that can compete at this level.
Well...if fanzhendong is not facing ma long...he can win the match very easily....but ma long is a very tough competitor.. actually both played very very very well....when these two face off....no one I think can predict before the results of the match that who will win....the ball can go along any of the two sides.. Fanzhendong is a very good player of this time.......and so ma long the dictator didn't give up..his love for this sport always emphasizes him to do better.....and actually there is no doubt the both are the best players...we can't say who is more best well....!

Fan Zhendong played really well and deserved the win, but I wouldn't say that Ma Long choked at all From 10-6 to 10-10 in the fifth set Fan had 2/3 lucky net touching points
yea fan got pretty lucky at the end with 3 out of 4 points won from 6-10 down in the last set being net points. Plus another net shot at 11-11. It's just not meant to be ma long's day. great match regardless

Lucky Fan Zhendong and his luck is backed up with brave play at the end of the match. Ma Long played better through the whole match yet Fan won ... Both players have been there , won matches with less than optimal play and lost playing very strong. I see why this is a sweet celebration for Fan , it wasn't his best day yet he get what he wanted at the end not just for himself but the whole team :)

Can someone explain this behaviour from FZD? I mean i do have the feeling that Ma Long actively watched for any body language of FZD to see if there is the slightest gesture of an apology (14:35 or 15:05 where he even seemed to react on it). It seems so unlike FZD because he seems such a nice guy (just from what i see on the internet). Maybe there happened something before that match. They are friends, aren't they?

I suppose that for these Chinese National Games the pressure and the passion for the the first place is very high. So this pressure( from the teams and the fans) can overcome the usual fairplay at its detail, some moments. I am sure that after the matches, FZD asked an apology from Ma Long, during a tea or a coffee ❤️

Lucky Fan Zhendong and his luck is backed up with brave play at the end of the match. Ma Long played better through the whole match yet Fan won ... Both players have been there , won matches with less than optimal play and lost playing very strong. I see why this is a sweet celebration for Fan , it wasn't his best day yet he get what he wanted at the end not just for himself but the whole team :)
For those who said Fan won due to luck and it's not worth applause. remember that coincidence happens during every match, every game. in their previous countless matches, Ma also won by luck many times. when coincidence happens, whether you can seize it, that's what really matters.

Of course I admire both players. Ma long lost his focus at the last 5 points. Also at these points FZD had some net- sorrys, in which I noticed he didn't raise his finger. Any way, great respect for both players! They have made marvelous history in world table tennis!❤️

@ It is ok and natural that you support Ma Long! About me, I support the spectacle and the epic battles in table tennis. And the truth is that both players together with many other players(usually Chinese) have offered us magic moments in this sport. So generally I feel gratefull to Chinese table tennis!❤️
Can someone explain this behaviour from FZD? I mean i do have the feeling that Ma Long actively watched for any body language of FZD to see if there is the slightest gesture of an apology (14:35 or 15:05 where he even seemed to react on it). It seems so unlike FZD because he seems such a nice guy (just from what i see on the internet).
Maybe there happened something before that match. They are friends, aren't they?
@@markstabenau7229 For me it's the first time that I notice from FZD this behaviour (not raising his hand), and I watch him since he was 16 years old. I can give an explanation for this detail. I suppose that for these Chinese National Games the pressure and the passion for the the first place is very high. So this pressure( from the teams and the fans) can overcome the usual fairplay at its detail, some moments. I am sure that after the matches, FZD asked an apology from Ma Long, during a tea or a coffee ❤️
