This is exactly what feel when I put them both through running. I would prefer the solar boost for running. It provides more bounce in every step at the same time it is more steady than the ultra boost. Great review!

Buy some used, I have found so many under retail, I have a couple of videos if you interested. For example, I got the orange highlighter 1.0 ultraboost for 60 bucks !
Try the Alphabounce Beyond... they are just as good as ultraboost imo👍

Great review! I'm an Adidas guy, (narrow foot), and have been running on Boost models for years. Going back to the Adistar Boost ESM techfit. I bought the Ultraboost 21 last year and had to return them for refund after only 40 miles. The outsole was in tatters. I was very disappointed. Bought the Ultraboost 5.0 DNA and love them. Even though they are a bit heavy, almost too cushy and not as stable as I would prefer. What you said about the Solarboost model is just what I needed to hear. I will go with them on next purchase. The only thing I would add is that the Continental outsole is very durable. Which is what I needed after my experience with the 21's. I've got 150 miles on the Ultraboost DNA's. They are just now starting to show wear. Thanks a lot...
Nice breakdown of the two shoes
I would recommend going half a size down on the ultraboost because your foot won’t be moving around as much at the toe area. Yes, it will fit tight at first but the prime knit will stretch a little over time.

Been wearing Solars for a while along with Inikis. I finally bought UB 20s Today for work I can’t wait to get them this week.
For more stability in the boost you also can use the Ultra Boost ST, which has a slightly encaged boost and also a separate tongue.

Thank you! I was having a hard time deciding between the solar boost and ultra boost for running. I have worn Adidas for years for running but the Adidas website descriptions are unclear. Your video completely explains and makes it clear I should stick with the solar boost I currently have!

Hey Seth thanks for the comparison. I work in film production and my work sometimes requires me to be on my feet all day. I have a neutral gait. By hour 4-5 my heel, ankles and calves start to ache and by evening it gets progressively worse. Which of these two would you recommend for me? I’ve been through several shoes in the past - running shoes, all terrain shoes, hiking shoes and still haven’t found anything pain free. Wearing puma ignite evoknit right now which have been better than most but still not completely pain free. Or any other shoe that you would recommend? Thanks, appreciate the advice.

I have had 3 pairs of ultra boosts and I’ve tried this compared to brooks and hokas (I’m trying some new balance and Nike when they arrive) and, I love the brooks, but ultras are my favourite. I keep going back to them. The only issue I wonder about his how quickly the soles have worn out..🤔 I have ordered a pair of solars as they were on special so I’ll be interested to see if I notice the difference.

the Ultraboost is the less ventilated running shoe I got ! If this Solar is even hotter then it is a running shoe to be used at the winter time .

EQT Support Ultra Primeknit for cheap. Do you know how they compare to Ultra Boost? Is the boost feel the same?
sevendhappy yeah the boost feels about the same but the primeknit upper is very different. UB primeknit feels much lighter and softer
I think Adidas shoes now look great. Although, it's difficult me to pay $150 for shoes that end up at Ross, Burlington Coat factory, or Marshalls and only cost $60.
I'M SO GLAD I was right and wasnt just imagining it. Solar Boost really is more performance based than Ultra Boost. Watching this video confirmed my decision to buy Solar Boost for Sprinting competitions.

@@Tanveer_Singh47 as someone who regularly wore vapor max for lifestyle and was getting performance shoe for competitive running, I was kind of dissapointed with how flat it felt. It is quite good and it still looks very good aesthetically (I have the blue-lightblue-green-white). The toe space is particularly wide and the heel felt particularly cushioned, but overall it felt just alright, doesn't feel that good. The stability is good, but the top is definitely so tight, even though I chose a larger size. I think you should get it and it feels comfortable enough if u dont use it too competitively it doesnt spring me like i thought solar was going to

Seth, can you do an AM4NYC vs Ultraboost comparison? I'm planning to buy either an AM-series or an ultraboost but I still can't decide.
Steve Edward I have both the AM4NYC and ultra boost. The ultra boost upper is a lot more comfortable because it uses primeknit, while AM4NYC has a different mesh. AM is also a bit more constricting, apparently to let you take tighter turns when running. AM does have a little extra boost in the midsole, but not enough to be very noticeable over ultra boost. If you’ve never owned either, I’d recommend starting off with a pair of ultra boost.
Get AM4NYC, trust me it feels good having something not everyone has. And it looks better too.
Get any version of the 1.0-4.0 ultra boosts caged or uncaged, I guarantee you won't regret it. 2017 Pure boost is nice too btw
So far I think the AM-series is the better choice in the function department, which is my biggest consideration in this purchase. The fact is was made with runners for specific terrains ( not that I run tho, just want something more functional/ technical than NMDs ) makes me think that it should be better than an ultra boost. One of my biggest concern with the AM-series is that they don't come with continental outsoles, but I heard traction is just as good. Also, the LDN pair looks sick.
Also, if any of you guys can suggest sizing, that'd be great! I normally use US 9.5s and I still can't decide on going up or down. A bit of reference, a 9.5 US ultraboost fits perfect if not a bit tight in my feet.

Am I crazy or am I the only one who has problems with the ultra boost. The back of my foot comes up and down as I walk or run no matter how tight I make it. That’s why I’ve tried them on but never buy. I find this same problem for almost all adidas shoes I’ve tried including Stan smith and superstar nmd, etc. I don’t have this feeling with any other brands such as Nike or puma. Whyyyy!!! I love the look of all the adidas

Adidas runs large, always go down half a size. Normally 9 in other shoes. Adidas 8.5, if its narrow, i usually stay normal size. In puma it's different story, i go up half a size because they are narrow.

Ultraboost is heavy and the upper is too tight. Solarboost is lighter and has good stability and the upper has room for your toes. I could never get into boost till I got the solarboost and solarglide as well. I wouldn't actually run in ultraboost unless that was all I had. It's like having tight bricks on your feet
