I remember my dad watching channel 16 and listening to you minister and singing and I didn’t understand at that time , but as a adult I do . Thank you so much for ministering to the lost.
I saw Laverne and his family at Faith Temple, when WGGS TV 16 was affiliated with Faith Temple then. James or Jimmy Thompson was pastor then. He was my pastor, and Bobbie Jeane White was my song director. I think the revival was called Cowboys for Jesus, or it might have been the song, but they wore cowboy hats I think... it's been a long time ago. I got saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit at that church when they were holding a revival there in 82... I believe. I got involved with music and played guitar in the band, and on Nite Line at WGGS TV 16 as well. Been a long time. Honestly I like the other version "TOO LATE" for me now. "Left behind" has the same words as "too late" but a different tune. "Too late" touched my heart when it was played on the radio back then and that's when I first heard it, then at the revival at Faith Temple... it left a lump in my throat that I needed to get right with the Lord. My brother he loves that song too. I wish I had the recording of it. I can't find it on here. "Left behind" is not the right one. If you get this Laverne. Thanks for all the music over the years.
This is such a fantastic song..I have actually sat down and figured out the chords and melody of this song on my guitar and have been working on a cover of it for several years ..yes years lol I wanted to make sure I got it right and do it justice to the lord and to Lavern Tripp ministries..hopefully I will have the video posted on my page in the next few days ..even if you don’t listen to my cover listen to this version and think about what it says really think about it cause I don’t know about you but I don’t wanna be left behind
With him being your cousin I would like to say that when I get the cover of this song posted on my TH-cam page I hope I do it justice I had the opportunity to speak to his wife Edith through email a couple of years ago about this song truly inspired song from God you have know idea how much this song means to me I’ve carried this song in my heart for over 20 years so again I hope I can do it justice
