Dear Simon, I first stumbled across your videos as a high schooler. I'm from America, but found the amount of history laying in the Thames absolutely amazing. Among all the artifacts, the myriad clay pipes you'd find captivated me the most. Fast forward to now. I'm now an archaeology student in college who's about to publish his first ever academic paper: on clay pipes! I've also been asked to do independent research into them at my university next semester. If it wasn't for your videos I likely never would have became interested in these artifacts if it wasn't for your videos. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your finds with the world, they've had a big influence on me!

the tiny glass bottle with the strange thing and water inside might be "Water Sterilizing Tablets bottle"., that strange thing might be the remainder of the cotton wool which was used inside the bottle.
For me, it would have to be one of the more recent videos and that's the head of the Queen (bust), because it was so unexpected. You'd think because so many mudluckers that could've found it because of it's size and you were the one to get it, was amazing. Thanks again for the video Simon and crew.

Several favorites so very hard to choose…the Dutch tobacco tin, the Roman pot, the 16th C. Cup, the Roman sandals; but I also love the Victorian dump with all the mudlarkers finding random bits, AND I really love the jam jars, pickle jars and anything advertising. Those plain jam jars sell for a lot in the USA. #shared

I'm a newer subscriber, but I think my favorite video so far is the one where you and some of your friends joined in on the clean-up of the canal that was drained. Finding cool things was enjoyable and interesting, but giving back and cleaning the garbage was so satisfying to watch! Those old bikes and tires needed to get out of the water!!! LOved the Bike lamp! When I was a kid, Dad had a 6cylinder Vauxhall car, all the lights were built onto the car & not like modern cars bult into to body. They all had the Lucas badge on them and I used to polish them with Brasso. thats about 62 years ago.
Johnson's Glo-Coat floor wax, no rubbing means you don't have to buff it for it to shine. Spread on a thin layer and let it dry. Still in many USA households today. Beautiful brooch and a nice grab on the 14k nib. Great job on marrying the 2 pieces for the lamp. You're so kind the way you let people know what you see and think. Always the gentleman. My sister had a lamp just like that on her bicycle in the 50’s in Utah! It had the best light for us all to follow when we stayed too late at friends watching the huge cabinet with the tiny television screen.

You need to build a sifter, basically a screen with larger holes in a frame with legs to hold it off the ground. Dump in the dirt, give it a shake and see what's left 😉 That round stro-si corset marked disk appears to be part of the container that the extra steel "boning" or supports for the corset came in. #shared

Whether your on the Thzmes foreshore with your trowel, digging in victoriana dumps or out on hovercrafts I love them all. As for a favourite there's too many to choose from, but if I have to pick one it would have to be the where you found the full roman pot. Also love the upcycle of the sea glass where you made the picture in resin. Would love to get some sea glass and have a go myself x
Simon, I am genuinely impressed with seeing that you reply to so many comments, it is a great inspiration that helps me do the same thing(at least a ❤or a 😊 to show that a comment has been read). It makes me that much happier seeing you find such great things, that and knowing the respect you show those finds. I just happened to have a razor like the one that would have used the little tin of blades. It was my grandfathers, handed down to dad and then to myself, they don't make them like that anymore! The corset box maybe contained spare ‘bones’ for corset? Originally they would have been made of bone, but were later replaced with flexible metal.
