    So, Canon finally gave us R6 users Drumroll Intensifies CLOG 3!!!!!!!!!
    This video is shot completely handheld, using a Nifty Fifty, and CLOG 3, graded in DaVinci Resolve 17. CLOG 3 is excellent for extending your camera's dynamic range in video modes, and really excels at giving you a lot of data to work with in post to create the perfect cinematic image!

    Nice shots and nice music choice.
    I am looking to switch from my 90d to R6 for bit of filmmaking, since 90d is terrible at that(ipb only, no clog)
    I have a few questions about R6, I'd be very happy if you find time to respond!
    There is noise on couple of first shots in this video (mountain slopes moslty), however it wasnt dark and I doubt the high iso was the case. Was this shot on clog3? Unless its a noise because of colorgrading the video, I dont understand why its there. Does the original clog file have noise aswell?
    Have you had an opportunity to test it with other comparable cameras for video (like a7s3 or r5?)

      I've come to the conclusion that the R6 doesn't like wide angles with lots of small detail, as that can lead to noise in the image when shooting in Clog. This whole video was shot using clog3, and that noise pops up in a few places. The original Clog3 footage does have some noise as well.
      The only other camera I have tested for video is the Fujifilm X-T4 (which I switched my R6 out for). Honestly, I much prefer The X-T4's Flog profile. It's a lot cleaner and more detailed (to my eyes at least.)
      Hope you find this helpful!

    How did you deal with the noise? I tend to get a lot of chroma noise in my footage compared to non-clog recordings, even when overexposing and bringing it back down in post. Did you do a noise reduction node or is youtube compression doing magics 😂

      TBH I think YT did my NR for me on this one, now that I watch it again. I don't remember doing noise reduction in post on this one haha.

    did you have to pay for the full version of DaVinci Resolve to playback the R6 CLOG files?

    • @PaulStrople
      @PaulStrople  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! I did not. If you're on windows there's a plugin type thing on the Microsoft store that you can download that allows the playback and usage of H.256 HEVC files! :)
