      very nice place. at the lobby we noticed this is the hotel where Korean Air sends its flight attendants. we saw a lot of them checking out to go to the airport.

    Nice to the the Cebu Marco Polo again. I stayed there two times. Nice views from up on the hill. It's spectacular around the Christmas season with the lights and tree exhibit.

    I didn't know the Korean Airline girls stayed at the Marco Polo....I will be taking Korean Air in just 5 more days they are lovely and provide great service on their 777's

    • @Lifebeyondthesea

      aside from one flight i took on Cathay Pacific (which i enjoyed).. i've take my other half-dozen or so flight via Korean Air and prefer them, largely because they layover at Incheon Terminal rather than HK. the incheon terminal is much nicer and relaxing.

    Thank you for this video. Because of your recommendation, my wife and I stayed at the Marco Polo. We splurged for a suite, which means free breakfast in the penthouse. It was amazing. We loved the Blu Bar and had a great evening there. We talked about your video a lot (Oh, this is the outside elevator he took). Haha. Great experience, for $205/night.
    We also ate twice at the Irish Pub from another one of your videos. Great taste of home (U.S) with (FINALLY) U.S. style service.

    Hello Sir Henry, wow what's this for a change of stay. Before we have seen you living in a simple Nipa Hut in the outback of Bohol. Now you stay in one of the best and luxorious hotels of Cebu City! Before everybody could think that you would be a clever mind but simple living expat. Now you prove that you belong to the most rich citizen of the world: the U.S. Only I feel sad about Lyn, because she could not be together with you. When I as a German traveller would stay in Cebu City I would look for a good pension house where I have to pay 17 to 20 Euro or U.S.Dollar per night instead of a "promo" offer of 60 U.S.Dollar. Enjoy your stay there! I know it's a wonderful place to stay when you have not to think about money.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      oh, it's not quite so much as all that. i'm a simple guy but i do enjoy nice experiences. being with my friends later that evening at Marshall's Irish Pub was every bit as fun as being at the Marco Polo for some wine. it's the friends who make an evening an event.

    Definitely my favorite hotel in town. I stay there 90% of the time when in Cebu. Be sure to book the Sea View rooms. Only 330 pesos more expensive than the mountain view which has not-so-nice neighborhood below.
    Despite being at that bar for a lot of times, I was never given a seat by the "window". Always all occupied. Lucky you.

      They are both good. Of course we like the fact that the Waterfront buffet is included with the room for very little more.

    Can you do a video about the colleges/universities in PI?
    I'm a younger expat in Japan and use student visas for my travels. Any insight, recommendations, warnings, etc.?
    I'm looking for a place with reasonably mature students and a modest surrounding area. I'm going to visit and search for myself next month

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm unfamiliar with student visas. a full-year Tourist Visa can be obtained for roughly $500 per year. however you only need to pay it in installments (renewals) every 2 months. as for colleges, google information on Silliman College in Dumaguete. it's a well known campus and has transferable units and located in an enjoyable city. definitely worth checking out.

      which would otherwise be fine.. if he wasn't claiming to earn $75 an hour and having a $3,000 budget, which is a complete lie.

    • @henrychinaski2767
      @henrychinaski2767 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      His videos are very self-contradicting at most. He claims to live on $3000 budget but usually eat at cheap, hole-in-the-wall restaurants or even street cart food. Gaunt face & shabby clothes? It's no wonder he's losing his credibility among his viewers everytime he uploads a video.

    • @nikeboy69er
      @nikeboy69er 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      One of his latest videos even have a caption explaining why he is shirtless. Says "I'm dying from the heat." Like which shithole with no AC is he staying at?

    you've probably already said but I'm new to your channel. You're obviously too young to be collecting SS so I'm curious as to if you cashed out on a home in Cali or what you did for a living before you got there if it's not too personal. You do a class act as far as presenting yourself and the opportunities that exist there.
    Take care!

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i'm kinda fortunate. i have a bit of rental income from the usa. also online income and a little from adsense here, so it all works for me these last 4 years. but what i highly recommend to others is to be generating income before you arrive since online income is not instant or guaranteed. living on savings will eventually run out if there's no money coming in from somewhere. i look to expanding the scope of the channel in March of 2017. taking it kinda easy for right now spending time with lyn, friends and projects i have going.

    Not impressed by this place coming from Manila Peninsula this place doesn't compare. The service was awful and the facility could use some good scrubbing. The rood top area is smaller compared to other places we've been to and the night we were there we can smell garbage burning near by.
