That's the TV death that hurts me the worst. The build up to this scene really made it the most affective in cutting open the viewers and making them feel that pain.
It's up there for me, too. But top 1 still goes to the show Lost. I don't wanna spoil it, in case you have no idea what I'm talking about (and maybe wanna experience it for yourself someday, too 🤞). But it's in episode 14 of the final season, season 6...

It killed the show killing her off, was a big mistake but at the same time you couldn't repeat the off again on again with Ryan where it was always a tempatation coming between them or a misunderstanding. It had plenty of life left in the show too just like OTH went 9 seasons, this could easily have gone 6-10 on that initial momentum prior to her death.
I’m 37 and grew up in La Jolla, Newport and Malibu. I just moved back to SoCal since 2011 and I showed my Saudi husband this show and he hates contemporary US culture but loves that show and totally understands me more now lol

Nothing EVER broke me like Marissa’s death in The OC. I‘m still crying like crazy, she was my absolute favourite. I’m still not over it now and I’m 28 now 😂

The 2 saddest episodes of the OC was Marisa’s death and the last episode of season 1 when Ryan and Seth are leaving Newport. Cried my eyes out. On both Hallelujah were playing
I remember the night this ep aired! I called my, now fiance, BALLING my eyes out saying Marissa died Marissa died!! And he thought it was someone related to me, then i said it was a character on a show 😂😂😭😭 he almost hung up.

Just search for some of her photos back in 2009/2010 when she gained some weight and the tabloids were going crazy calling her fat. Her face just seems to get really plain once she puts on weight.
My 12 year old self cried and my 32 year old self cried when I rewatched it a few months ago 🥹😭 loved the OC I had to sneak to watch it in my room since my parents said I couldn’t when we seen a preview for the show.
To be fair, when Marissa Cooperwas killed off the show, it was probably the best for Ryan's character because she was always with some other guy and they weren't right for each other after Volchek turned her into one his mattress and coke hoes. It was a relief because she wasn't even nice to Ryan or a good girlfriend, she took Oliver's side in S1, and then she had her lesbo phase with Alex, then she hooked up with the yard guy and by the time she was killed off, I was really tired of her character, and she had wanted to pursue other acting jobs and the show's creator felt like it was time to end it because they did everything they could with her, and it was perfect timing that the characters were out of high school.
This was also pretty much the death of the O.C. as well. My younger Sis & I were avid watchers of the O.C. was just hilarious how there was *always* a party! 😂
It has been 20 years… not many people look the same after 20 years. I know, her colleagues might look great, but it shouldn’t be the standard to hold women to. Plus she was struggling with anorexia at the time of the show :(
@@Drible_curto she was struggling from anorexia when she did the OC so she wasn't healthy if anything you should be happy she actually looks healthy these days and seems happier. So it's not sad she is actually a healthy weight, people act like she is obese but she clearly isn't at all.

I literally cried for about 15 min when I saw this scene and it took me a long while to recover. I was 14 at the time! One of my favourite shows ever.

They teased this ending in radio promos leading up to when the season finale aired. Three was a screeching car sound in the promo.
