The Denver Nuggets have taken a 2-0 series lead on the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs so far, and despite the fact that the Nuggets haven't even been shooting particularly well from three, their offense has looked unstoppable.
The Lakers have had no answer for the incredibly unpredictable and diverse Nuggets offense, and even though the Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic two man game is a nightmare to try and contain on it's own, the Nuggets now have more halfcourt sets that they're using to wear the Lakers down and put points on the board.

The coaching...look at the 5:08 play. That is Jokic with the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th best players on the team, and they run the play just like the starters. Meanwhile the Celtics can't run 2 plays without resorting to iso/hero ball. The Nuggets are different

I think people gave a lot of flak to malone during the previous years of jokic before the championship, he actually has lots of set plays and pnr actions that are very effective at creating space for the stars, as well as a whole lot of movement from everyone else from gordon to braun. Looking at the celtics v heat matchup, you just see a whole lot of isolation from the celtics with jt or brown, and kicking it out to a three point shooter and passing the ball around to create havoc on defence. Or they just chuck up threes (one of the biggest three point chucking displays i've seen in the playoffs so far).

Murray is seriously underrated for many years, and still is right now, he is one of the best combo guard of all time, quick enough bigs can't stop him, strong enough that he can post up majority of the perimeter defenders, great handle not Kyrie level but you can't take the ball off him, good enough of a passer, great ISO scoring but also good enough of a shooter to play offball, and big balls, mister 50 points in the playoffs. Murray Jokic PNR is the single best in history, over Malone and Stockton, afterall Stockton cannot play big and Malone cannot play small, but Jokic and Murray can totally do both, their PNR options after the screen are vast.
Joc methodically picks apart a defense. Joc has the offensive mind of a Jason kid yet in a 7 ft, 280 lb frame.

Yes we would, you seriously believe someone can become a 2 times mvp and champion by not trying? It's not because he has a life outside basketball that he doesn't try. Go see the mpj podcast and his episodes with Jokic and the nuggets owner to see what I mean. Jokic worked to get where he is, he's very talented but there is work put in.
I legit feel kinda bad for lebron bc when you look at his movements and subtle reactions to denver’s offense you can tell and see that he understands where the ball is ultimately going to wind up but he’s just always a half second too late to stop it. Like his ball iq is typically a blessing but it turns into a curse against the nuggets
He knows but he knows his teammate don’t know that is frustrating

The nuggets are the better team. Murray way better way more clutch than dlo. Aaron gordon is our best defensive chess piece, when he guards AD it allows Jokic to roam the paint. Mpj is a sniper and a mismatch nightmare for the laker specifically. Kcp is a dawg on defense and also a sniper. And Jokic is Jokic it’s like a really good team vs a team that’s trying it’s best to be good.
That’s true. Plus, Malone is a much better coach than Ham.

Its crazy how Jokic is the only Nugget that is the best in the league at his position, yet this team has a nearly unbeatable combination of players skillsets and coaching right now.
