I think many if not most Singaporeans realised that after wearing masks religiously the past couple of years, we hardly fall sick so easily anymore. Also, most of us go indoors and outdoors so often in a day that it’s more of a hassle to keep putting on and taking off the masks.
You are absolutely correct!, 2 years straight no mc or need to see the doctor only sick was when my other half was sick. Maybe the occasional flu and cough time depending on what you ate though.
the past few days i’ve been outdoors most of the time so i barely wore masks. but there were times when i had to enter shops and had my hands full, taking out/putting on the mask was so troublesome (plus i wear the hijab and don’t use mask extenders) while i appreciate not having to wear it all the time, it’s still around my chin most of the time
I’m so excited about the rules getting more relaxed. We’re moving there at the end of the month with our toddler. Fingers crossed the the US drops the transportation mask mandates, so my toddler isn’t in a mask for 30 hours on our flights over.
Are you a full-time TH-camr now? I remembered watching your ‘come to work w/ me’ video or something of that sort a few yrs ago at your day job. Sorry if i missed this on your life updates or just making an assumption.
Love your videos Georgia! I'm not wearing a mask outdoors either! Though it's worth clarifying that our "curfew" was simply that alcohol cannot be served after 10.30pm. We were still allowed out past 10.30pm :D
Wah u usually appear near where I stay but why I never seem to have luck bumping into you... haiya... Anyways there is this cafe along North Canal Road, near Off Track and Punch called Mosanco Settlers Cafe. Used to work there when it was known as Settlers Cafe, the first board games cafe in SG. They now serve food on the first floor and offer board games on the 2nd floor.
I will still wear my mask because it is irritating to take it off and put it on again multiple times. Eg... Get out of the house: Mask off Inside the lift: Mask on Out of the lift: Mask off Inside an MRT station or MRT or bus: Mask on Outside of the MRT station or bus: Mask off Walking inside an underpass: Mask on Mask off, Mask on, Mask off, and Mask on again. I might as well Mask on...at the end of the day, we still have to bring our masks wherever we go...🤣🤣🤣
I used to sweat sooo much under my mask, and get spots of maskne. So glad to walk speedily and not be suffocated, haha. I don't actually mind the masks indoors, but outside, I need to breathe!

U look great in the sunny weather. Absolutely gorgeous. Yes it'll take time for Singaporeans to slowly shed their masks, but we'll get there eventually. In the meantime, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine!
Waiting for Singapore to go back to normal before making a trip there. Hopefully before the end of 2022. Don't want to have to quarantine for 2 weeks after landing in Singapore.
I keep my mask on because I've forgotten how to control my facial expressions. I love the freedom to wear my resting b--ch face when my mask is on. No more polite smiles from me!
Cool idea having boxing as a form of workout u R active! Looked up Plain Vanilla (name itself is inviting) and it looks just as cool. Thks for naming places like that! I may try out the branch at IOÑ Orchard, however, cos i think it will be easier to locate:-) Peace.
Here in Australia almost nobody wears masks outdoors & soon where I am masks will no longer be required indoors except in hospitals & doctor clinics. We need to return to normal sooner rather than later, if you want to wear masks fine, but give people a choice.
Loved to know what State you are in, lm in Melbourne mask mandate is gone but l thought you still had to wear them at the Drs, when took my Miss Teen l was the only person in the waiting room with mask on (Nurses, admin and Drs no mask) and when we got called into the Drs room he said it's not required lm so confused and felt a bit stupid 😷
So, so psyched to not have the outdoor masks 😁 lol I had the same reaction (double checking the date etc) cause like Everyone else still wearing them. Was a big 'oh wow this is defs a different place/mentality to my country '. 🥳 drinks past 10.30 no more highschool curfew 😂
It's not about safety. I still keep my mask on because I don't look pretty. It's been nice being able to hide behind a mask that gives me a pseudo jawline and not feeling like the ugliest girl in the room.
Personally i think this whole mask on/off thing is so grossly overrated. I have been wearing masks since before Covid (though not as extensively as when it was enforced). I do it in crowded places because simply too many people do not have good habits when it comes to coughing, sneezing etc. My work does not allow me to have sick leaves as and when I want to. So I am used to taking ownership of my own health. Another reason is that in some situations, it makes my sinus condition a lot better. Wearing a mask is not a big deal to me personally. Neither is not wearing one.
Pangaea was the name of the one big continent on Earth before earthquakes and shifting tectonic plates separated them into the 7 continents that we now know.
I'm quite surprised to see so many people still wearing masks outdoors. And, it's kind of weird that people find it troublesome to put it on and off? It just seems troublesome when you write it down about how you have to put it on and off but the gesture of actually doing it is no more troublesome than picking up and checking your phone - which people have no problem doing at all even more frequently. I don't get it.
You do not have to get it. As she said, Singaporean is just singaporean. We are just more kiasu and feels safe wearing a mask. Singaporean mindset that are born and bred here. cheers! x
I'm Singaporean too. I understand if people say it's just to be safe, but if their reason is because it's troublesome, it really doesn't make much sense. It took me more time to write this comment than to remove a mask. Heh heh.
@@Joe-gf6vn Because you're suppose to only touch the ear loops of the mask, never the mask itself. People who find it easy to remove the mask and put it into the pockets etc, are those who nonchalantly touch the mask or slip the mask under the chin, both of which are not proper mask handling. You are supposed to take out the mask by touching the ear loops only, and carefully put it into a ziplock bag or similar (again, holding only the ear loops) to prevent the outer mask surface from contaminating your pocket/bag/hands. When putting the same mask back on, also touch the ear loops only. Basically, treat the outer mask surface as if it has been smeared with shit once you've put it on, and never touch the inner mask surface with unsanitised hands.
Being a British Subject staying in Sing for so many years. I began to doubt and suspicious about your origin. Are u really born in UK or a UK refugee. UK is a dream place for many peoples but u are trying to run away looking for new comfort nest.
I think it's just too troublesome to put on and take off your masks. Singapore is very small and you probably will step indoor after a few minutes of walk and that means mask on. So many of us are just too lazy so we just put the mask on all the time. 😁
Honey, you should change yourself to adapt a new country. And not that country change to suit you. Trying to transform a country to your taste, unless you have a Master from Woodbridge University.

Enjoy the fresh air, finally...👍👍👍
Would love to visit Singapore again. Last time I visited was January 2020 before all the craziness. The workout class seems like a lot of fun.
Same here 2020 last time I visited. Miss it

You might want to try Surrey Hills Grocer, they have an Aussie-Style Cafe, nice place to chill!
