In NYC, we are in phase 3 of reopening, but only outdoor dining, pickup/delivery is allowed. Food delivery is an essential service here too. Great work of showing what all they go through. 👏👏
Watching this video gave me a whole new respect for all delivery people. I agree they are also very vulnerable in what they're doing! Most take this job on because they are trying to survive and making ends meet! Since Covid I've been trying to do my best by ordering takeout & delivery more often than I normally would. I am a healthcare worker and we must support each other! Good job Haley in making us more aware! One thing tho that irks me is how some people are too cheap to tip... what's an extra few dollars?? Giving even something, a dollar or two is better than zero tip!!! I for one follow the suggestions they have on the app and usually tip midway. Hopefully this video will open people's pockets more!
You should watch Electric Scooter Academy on TH-cam, he uses an electric kick scooter to deliver food in LA. More cost efficient since he doesn’t have to worry about parking and gas.

Perhaps you can try to do something out of your comfort zone. See how hard it is for you to do. But with extra care of course. I know you'll think of something to do. Im from Chicago and used to do ride share with Uber and Lyft, but since this pandemic I stopped doing it already, instead, I switched to delivery platforms with UberEats, Doordash, and Poshmates, and yeah I average $20-25 per hour here, you just have to learn the tricks. Hats off to all essential workers out there! ❤️👍👌💪

Hi Haley! I’m from Montreal and some business owner had told me that uber eats and all those delivery companies are not very beneficial for the local restaurants because they take 30% on the price of the food which normally is the profit margin of restaurants. Idk how it is there though 🤷🏽
I do DoorDash part time and able to work from home full time. A great side hustle! I would not recommend doing this full time as benefits are unavailable. Because of the help with DD, I am able to save for nursing school hopefully by next year. :)
She sanitizes with the glove she wears tho as you seen in the video. Better than just bare hands that keeps you from touching your face which people commonly do when we don’t have gloves on. It protects her in a way than without it.
I think it's ok to wear gloves as long as people know the concept nof cross contamination , otherwise its better off just to go without it, and to wash your hands or sanitize and let it dry for 30sec before you go on and touch your face.

Wil's quote is always in my head "ika nga nila do things you haven't done before" so that's it i learned how to ride a bike to work🤣

Ive done food deliveries here and there and its definitely rewarding and risky due to potential exposure to the virus. I know in the bay area theres a-lot of scooters that you can rent and i know a bunch of people earning good money charging those electric scooters at night!
It's the same as FoodPanda & Grabfood here in asia which they used either motorbike or bike. In Malaysia is mostly with Foodpanda. For them who are like delivering the foods to every person is consider as frontliner here , big respect. Stay safe ! Always do the 3W (wash, wear & warn). Btw, Im diggin' your eyeliner shape.
