Only a full restoration / rebuild of the Mindbender would suffice. *Nothing* can replace the Mindbender. The 1980s were a time of engineering for maximum thrill, without being throttled back by lawyers. Same reason, there could never be another _Action Park,_ which was the product of the same era, accepting that there is risk in thrill seeking, and some patrons are going to get hurt, go to the hospital, or possibly die. I rode the Mindbender annually from 1987, shortly after it reopened, until 2019, including backwards on the blue train (which is an insane experience). Never got hurt. This is an excellent rollercoaster, and is very well preserved in essentially a museum environment without rain, snow, extremes of temperature or sea air. This is a monumental loss for West Edmonton Mall to lose this major attraction that was known around the world for the incredible postive Gs.
That’s what it looks like it’ll be, I’ve heard they’re with great terms with gertlour and might get one of they’re urofighter models but I wouldn’t count on anything bigger. With their hasbro ips and wanting to go more kid friendly nobody really knows what’s gonna happen
@@CallumBlackGames not sure if you know anything about coasters but the most likely option if they were to get a coasters is a gertlour urofighter like hydrus at casino peir, small but cheap and thrilling coaster. Also they’re a rumors of mindbender being relocated to a different park but those are both just rumors/predictions

I have a friend, who's dad has worked in the higher administrative part of galaxyland for years. After having success with the orbiter made by Gerstlauer, it's a very very high possibility we will see new Gerstlauer coaster like the one put in the american dream mall, hint hint ;).
Personally I don’t see it happening, if they were to add a thrill coaster that seems like the most likely option. I hope so would be a perfect fit for the park
I was in there today gazing at the whole structure. The floor. All the machinery. To take that coaster out and replace it with another would be astronomical in cost. The floor needs to be redone. Old pillars taken out, new ones formed. It's just going to be a huge job. The track is all sectional. 14ft length roughly. It just all unbolts. I'd imagine part of the roof would need to come off to get a crane line in. I'm going to go there once a month anf take a video of the progress I think. It's going to be a huge project. I'm guessing they might tarp the whole thing off soon though. I read somebody said it's going to be a decade long project. I think that's retarded. It took 150 days to build Elon's gigafactory. Anyhow I got lots of pics and video footage of the mind bender today. Will post it soon.
@@phantomFanDrake Since Gerstlauer infinity coasters can fit in a pretty tight footprint, it leaves room for other family attractions as well. I grantee you that’s what’s going to happen, from my inside sources. Of course the mall doesn’t want to come out and say it right away. But look for hints in the up coming months.
@@chrisbroesky2932 That would be cool if you could get the disassembly process, if they don’t tarp it off. I can’t see them taking 10 years, I’m sure they want to done as fast as possible, maybe even working 24 hours around the clock. It definitely isn’t an easy feat, that’s for sure. For them to do this, I’m guessing mind bender was un repairable, or it was in need of a major overhaul, which didn’t make financial sense. Unfortunately I can’t get any info on why. They seem to be keeping it pretty confidential. Maybe they found something really bad, and didn’t want the negative press.

That's my fear and it seems likely unfortunately. It seems like they are trying to steer the park into being strictly a kiddie family park..
