Thank you so much for the information here and on your website Barb! I'm a novice eco printer and am slowly diving into resist printing. Today is my first attempt after lots of research. Wish me luck 🙏🏻🌿🌞
It may look dry but it is flannel fabric that is wrung out pretty well so it does not drip or run. It needs to be damp. If you want to use again there may be a transfer of some of the tannins from the leaves or iron. It may give an interesting result though. After some experimenting you'll get a sense of what impacts results; that's really the best way.
May I ask how long you microwave it for and at what power level, please? I tried this and ended up with plastic melted to my silk scarf..Thank you for your input.
hi, it's a very interesting job that you have done. I have some problems that.. do you steam all the wrapped bundle in a pigment bath or how it become a more bluish color end of the process.

Check this post: It is not meant to heat for long. I have never had any melting... www.madebybarb.com/2018/11/12/alternate-eco-print-processing/

No, the dye transfers from the 'Carrier Blanket' to the silk. That is why it is called a carrier. No colour comes from the bath/steaming.
@@madebybarbcom oh.... that's what happen... thank you so much mam.. much love ❤
Can you use a carrier blanket to dye cellulose?
Yes, you can switch it up. Just remember that cellulose is more resistant to dye and should have good preparation; mordanting.
