Had a 2017 Q50 3.0T RWD Premium w/Bose that I bought used (32k miles) for around the low $20k’s USA (clean title) back in 2019 (those were the days 😭). Had it until 80k miles with no issues. It was darn quick for what it was! I had a 4G TL like you and and the Q50 was a much nicer vehicle overall. I do miss the J series engine note and the super sleeper looks but the Q50 was overall leagues better. Congrats and great choice!
Haha yah I miss the days of decently priced used vehicles. Lots of ppl have no issues, just got to maintain it well. Thanks for the input👊. Personally, the TL is wayyy more fun to drive and the SH-AWD is way more planted and fun than the Q50 AWD. I'm modded though, and forget how the 4G was stock. Once I mod the Q50 then I can have a better idea which is more enjoyable, but as a daily Q50 all day for that torque, Bose sound system, and tech. The 4G is way comfier though.
@@RevsALot Yes, the SH-AWD is a fantastic system and you can’t beat the feeling of a true manual. I also found the Q50 steering to be very light and vague (drive by wire) vs the TL. Both are fantastic cars in their own aspects but that Q50 has some incredible potential! Can’t wait to see what you do!
Good choice. Understated monster, Just add a few bolt on's and a tune from one of the top 3 tuners, and you will be mid 11's no problem. The pricing is also better if/when you break stuff, so the pain is less than a B58 when things go bad. My 2017 Redsport is still a daily, and takes down FBO GTR's on E85. Enjoy!
I bought my '19 Q50 Red Sport Sensory a few months ago and it's been pretty solid so far. I've changed out all of the driveline fluids though, as it had not been done recently and it helped with drivability. The car really hauls ass for what amounts to a nice looking grocery getter! Enjoy the car!!
Get a aftermarket oil cooler, always check your coolant and the turbos should last longer. Change oil the every 3000miles or like 5000km I guess that's about right but we don't use the metric system here in the US. I'm tell you it will help save those turbos....lmao you said the same thing in the video 😂 I always start typing early!
Lmao! Yah, I did a bunch of research into them before pulling the trigger. As long as the motor/trans last I'm happy. Turbos I want to upgrade in the future anyway
Revs, if you not feeling the body roll on corner, get a set of front and rear Hotchkiss (anti)sway bars. You can get upgraded SPL endlinks if you want but it will greatly improve the handling of your Q.
The wider tires and lightweight wheels definitely helped the handling, and once I get coils it'll help even more. So, good to know I can even buy those too to help even more, thanks for the info!👊
Good advice. If you’re awd you honestly don’t need the front sway bar. The front oem swaybars are pretty beefy from the factory. I have rear only with the spl links and tanabe strut bar.
People harsh on these because possibly 1. they wanted one at one time and could get one, 2. they are just complainers or trolls (BMW crowd), 3. if they had one and they didn't like it, they likely bought the wrong car like a die-hard Nissan z style car enthusiast or a Supra driver (Q50-Q60 not a sports car). A Q50 is really an amazing package/value if you can either buy new or get your hands on one that has been taken care of by the previous owner, likely an over 40 y.o. adult. In 2022 and 2023 not as great a price/buying deal because of new car pricing, lease and used car pricing plus elevated interest rates and lease deals. Best year to buy was 2019, 2020. People forget this is a car produced first to give a nice/quality ride where it does perform beyond that but it's not a race car, sports car and it was not intended/designed to be driven above 100mph. It does get that floating feeling when driving over 100mph but that is the compromise. (has to do with the non-sport suspension, sway bars and the soft subframe bushings) Changing those to gain road handling performance ruins the comfort and support of the factory setup.
Yah it's definitely a great daily, but definitely not a good handling sports car. Good for straight line speed. I do want to get the Akebono Brakes, and possible coils. It will ruin the ride though, but it'll handle a bit better. It's cheap and mod friendly, hard to hate on it unless you're just a hater or high roller who thinks he better then other ppl cause they have lots of money for real performance luxury sport sedans.
@@RevsALot I've had mine 4yrs now, bought new 2019. It's been perfect for all this time, mind you I don't load up the miles like some folks but I have raced it 0-60 3.8 sec, hard 60ft 1.87 sec and 1/4 mile 118.7 mph and 60-130mph (can't remember) numerous occassions, back to back to back and more back to backs no probs. I did have the known turbo-waste gate rattle but the car dove fine and the noise was 3-5 sec only at cold start up. Infiniti did step up Aug 2023 and put in new turbos to elevate the sort-of annoying rattle startup noise which was nice. They knew I was tuned, saw my AMS filters, heat exchanger upgrade and maganflow CBE. I didn't have any ethanol fuel mods or any of my catalytic/emmissions removed. I think that is important for warranty.
@GettingthruLife that's good to know! Unfortunately, my dealer is owned by a known horrible company around here. I asked if a catback would void warranty and they said yes🥴. So, I guess I'll just have to take the risk.
Ive researched every sporty car for sale. Although this is not a sports car I would say that it has a sporty soul. This has reliability on its side, a solid build quality, and a cult following where all the problems have been mapped out. Sure you could buy faster and more luxurious cars, cars with better tech and better interior design, but the q50 is just a great overall package. The driving position is great for me and it's easy to get in and out.
@robertbaker3296 it's definitely an underappreciated car imo. I'm loving it so far, but I definitely enjoy my TL SH-AWD as the more fun, sporty, comfortable car.. The Q50 is amazing daily, and I'm not driving sporty anyways. I just like quick acceleration and roll racing anyways lol.

My one complaint about the car was the steering. I hated that drive by wire system. When I got up to a higher speed the car starts to bounce and it gets really unsettling cuz you feel like you r on ice. I think as it's bouncing the drive by wire system doesn't have the correct input. I don't know if there's an easy fix for that. If there is, I'm sure that would make a world of difference. Do you know what I'm talking about? Have you felt that sensation? If not, I suggest on a night or time that a highway is open and has several lanes and maybe a slight curve get the car moving somewhere around 120 mph. I think is where I would notice it. Maybe a hair before that, I would feel what that's like under those conditions. Just so one day you're not going against someone else and it happens could turn into a bad time
I haven't noticed, because I only drive fast in a straight line. We only have two lanes, so I don't zigzag through traffic on the highway and not many turns. I do notice it doesn't feel as planted or even close to as good of handling as my TL SH-AWD. The wider 9.5 tires and lightweight wheels helped a lot, so I'm assuming coils would help too. Still my TL steering feels more in control and responsive.
Hx they say is a must, but after that I'd say open up those 1.75" dual catback to 2.5" or 3", then dp. Not sure if you took a look under but, those pipes are insanely small at the last flange area.
Really? That's odd, I don't have any button to turn it on that I know of. I bought it in the daytime and went to drive it at night and got super excited when I seen the emblem, then very excited when I got inside and seen the Ambient Lighting. I figured they all had it in the newer models.
@@RevsALot damn bro, you got super lucky or i got super unlucky... either way, nice ride, i was thinking of getting them FC04's for it! Now i see what it would look like, looks pretty good 👍 cheers 🍻

@Ludeguy83 the tired would fit better on 8.5, they're very stretched with 9.5. Wish I would've got 255 or 265, cause I go a cpl dings in the rims already cause there's no protection since the tires aren't meaty enough. Haven't hit any curbs or potholes either. Just manholes or train tracks.
They don't have a 2.5 Stinger? They have a 2.0(trash) or 3.3, and I love the Stinger/G70 but all the ones that popped had higher mileage, cpl owners, and the dealers were low balling tf out my trade in.
