    Thank you

Definitely have him reach out to the coaching staffs at the schools he is interested in. There's a ton of great info here about emailing coaches. www.ncsasports.org/recruiting/contacting-college-coaches/email

Before you send videos to D1 Schools do your research. Are your sons grades in-line with the schools requirements he wants to attend? Go see D1 games in your area; does your son have similar height and weight to the catchers currently at the school? Be very honest with yourself; is your son as good or better player than the catchers currently on the local D1 rosters? What level of DI does your son want to play at. Power 5 D1 players typically commit during the summer/fall between their freshman and sophomore year. Don't discount schools at any level, especially if your son is under 6"1" or 6'2". What are his exceptional skills or his top tools? Do the schools he's interested in value those tools? One major theme of the video is was that catching is a complex position with many skill to be mastered. Has he mastered any of them? How do you know? Do you have videos of your son on NCSA and other recruiting sites and You Tube? My Son only posted game video receiving, blocking, throwing and hitting. From 8th grade through his senior year to highlight how he progressed over time. Those videos got him plenty of college camp invites, some invites to schools he really wanted to attend. After he attended the camp he decided he didn't want to play for that coach. One school that was closer to the bottom of the list made him a offer, he took it because he really liked the coaching staff and the coaching staff provided access to current player so he was able to talk to them about their experience. In my opinion, most showcase events and are just a big money grab. Usually low level first year volunteer coaches attend to get a check. I have seen some of the most ridiculous comments and assessments of players at showcases like USA Baseball, Factory, PG, MVP, 5 stool PBR etc. Colleges do this too, to raise money to pay the coaches. Make sure if go to a college camp that it is an invite or elite prospect camp. The players invited to these camps are already on the coaches radar. Make sure your son applies to the school before he goes to the camps so the coach knows he is serious. Ultimately our son chose a DII program at a small school. I have now seen plenty of DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and JUCO ball and there is good baseball at every level. The biggest difference I see between DI and DII if the size of the players and the volume of 90 plus arms. Some great baseball is played at the DII level. We live very near San Diego and my son will be playing in a college summer league in San Diego this summer. I encourage you to go check out some college league baseball this summer, there are several in Southern California. The Power League in Palm Springs being one of them. If he is as good as or better than the the top catchers in the summer league, he may be a DI talent. You need people around you you can trust too tell you the truth about your player. You can tell the ones that are trustworthy, the answers or assessment they give of your player that are hard to hear, those are the people you can trust. To provide some prospective; our son was a 4 year varsity player; a good hitter, pop time consistently in low 1.9's as he got older and stronger, he is an excellent receiver, blocker and handles pitchers very well and his baseball IQ is very high and his 60 is 7.1, not horrible for a catcher. Finding a school to play college baseball, was still very difficult.
