@ no in Ragnarok, you just start off with better tools and options for dealing with encounters, and the way they’ve change the upgrade system makes it easier for you to make crazy build

20:40 Revenants can be annoying 😂 😂, but essentially you shoot arrows at them when they have that yellow aura around them otherwise they are invulnerable to Kratos attacks. Pride of the frost combo (R1, R1, R1, R2) and activating rage when they don’t have that yellow aura can launch them for ring outs or juggling them.
I only wish you got to experience the laser on enemies other than Travelers. Their armor makes them tough as hell. In this game Travelers and Wulvers are the enemies you don’t want to fight. I see how sparse your use of Rage is in this game. Ragnarok doesn’t have that issue since it allows you to replenish rage with every Mystic Gateway, and is just more easily accessible overall. Two things I want to say to help you out. Number one, go through your inventory, ideally slowly, and make sure you have that realm shift relic equipped. I like using the one that gives bigger parry windows since it is passive and doesn’t have a recharge. Number 2, there is a good chance you have missed Nornir chests and since they’re the only way to increase health and rage, check your map and see where any unopened Nornir chests are. It’s a really good idea to add it to your side questing list. Also as far as the Valkeries go, I think it could be cool to see all 8 (or 9) successful kills in one video. Could make you look MLG.
After you finish this game you should do an episode where you skim through the NG+ because theres a lot of cool extra upgrades and armors that are exclusive to NG+ before you move onto Ragnarok
44:00 if people are saying you’ll be to over leveled for the valks. I’d say do it whenever you’re feel comfortable with it. Love the vids btw. Keep it up.
It really is impressive tbh. My guy could have the armor that makes you invincible after a runic attack, but instead he has perkless armor. Honestly the armors that have perks help so much at this stage of the game. I don't think I could have beat the game like this. Hats off to you.
Getting off of work and coming home to a Polar upload is truly a blessing! Nice to see that your getting better at the combat as well! the Valkyries give really good loot and one of the best armor sets in the game so if you want to enjoy actually playing with the stuff that they give you I would recommend doing them as you go. Niflheim and Muspelheim are both optional areas that offer armor sets that are comparable to the armor you get from the Valkyries as well. But they are a grind.
10:55 the single dodge is just as effective since you get s on both dodges but you have the amulet that gives you slow down on perfect dodges to make best use of it is to last second dodge most attacks with just one dodge the timing is hard to get used to and you will probably mostly use it in valkyrie fights most of the time but tbh dont think of it much and just stay alive and keep swinging you'll win
No you actually can use step dodge for most, if not all attacks. Just need precise timing like parry. Step dodge is also good since it does not restart your combo - and since it is unlikely an enemy will just stand waiting you to finish combo, step dodge is a good conjunction. And the traveller horizontal attack can be parried if you dont want to step dodge. Iforget how it works in this game, but the back strp doddge attack also provides additional distance and in ragnarok - it is so sufficient that in that game you can choose to put on frost roll burden where you get slowed/frostbitten everytime you roll for a challenge
My boy Polar starting to get nice 👌🏽you definitely can do a dodge on that sword sweep move by that traveller (?). It's all about timing. By the way: in the boat your best friend is the shield and bare handed attacks. They stun enemies quickly and the shield can throw em off the boat.
If I'm not mistaken the main reason kratos destroyed the gate was to keep it out of reach for baldur and odin, as all travel to jotunheim was hidden to keep the realm safe
Bro the way you cheated to jump the challenge was hillarious i almost spit my coffee. Make sure to use more runic attacs that take less time, those time travelers you can block the swinging sword attacs, or side stepnever back step or they´ll get you. The revenants are annoying use lightning arrows and other enchantments to recharge your special runic attacs to kill them, use back step with the ax and blades to toss them or swing them those hard iced dudes. Last but not least, if you go to Niflheim be ready to rage quit or trow your control hahahaha. Thanks for sharing brother.
Little tip for the future: focus on using the chains heavy attacks, they are just as fast and do more damage. Also, if you do 2 heavy attacks, then a light attack, and back to a heavy attack you do a very powerful combo ender.

You would be surprised with how many attacks you can single dodge, even if it doesnt look like it. Its sooo satisfying with the realm shift too, especially when you can extend its duration for more dps dumping lol
Being over leveled for the Valkyries is a good thing. They can still F U up if you try to tank them instead of learning the moves. If you want to do the challenge, I say wait until the end to face them. If not just include them as you go.
I'd love to see you encounter the Valkyries as you meet them it's far more enjoyable... But seeing how far you come in terms of combat if you fight them all at once will also be entertaining to watch.
Btw you can hold l2 and r2 on the blades to latch on and set them on fire and would have helped on the boat bc it resets fire a lot quicker and you can continuously tap triangle on the blades to spin them and give increased fire damage and status
The L2+R2 is actually broken in this game as it can latch onto almost anything burning and launching smaller enemies too. The tapping triangle skill you are talking about is only in Ragnarok though.
Try using your Spartan rage more it can do extreme damage to enemies and it heals you on every successful hit on an enemy and with those witches (revnants) use Atreus’ arrows to slow them down and then use your spartan rage and if they are close to an edge if you have Spartan rage use R2 to send them flying off

Play how you want to play all i ask is dont do side missions off camera but rather show it your commentary makes it fun (oh and yeah about the valkyries its better to just fight when you are ready for them in like a natural way imo)
You change dodge to cycle in the settings, tho you might already be used to X Also when you parry, press attack to counter, you need to buy the skill with xp but it’s the best one in the game since it cancel combos and can be upgrade to send back projectile
55:25 btw Niflheim has some of the most busted armor in the game. Like endgame type equipments but its a rouge-like so you gotta grind that shi a lik bit.
Just in time, I see you’re trying out using side steps or single dodge, it’s very needed for combat in both games. It’ll definitely step up your game play and 90 percent of attacks in this game including those large swings can be side stepped. You’ll need the accurate calculated movements and extra damage time when fighting the valkyries. Love the videos brother. And hell yeah we want all the valkyries in one video.

And if my memory serves me right, doing that automatically arms your weapons (your axe auto appears if it's far away) it just registered to me seeing you jumping around during the ship sequence. The death from above attacks you talking about between ledges is only something they added in Ragnarok. Also quick turn in this game is just down on the D-pad. Ragnarok changed the controls a bit so yeah.👍🏿

56:55 a small hint for fighting these enemies is to use your fists and build up that stun bar and then use the stun special (R3) and Kratos rips off the armour of then you can use weapons

Really enjoying this series. After Ragnarok, you should give Doom 2016’s hardest mode a try and also Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite’s hardest modes a try. Both very challenging.
In ragnarok, if you hold triangle it frosts up the axe or charges up the blades depenfing on which one is equipped but im not sure if you can do it in this one, maybe give it a try.

From what i remember the side quests are so bad in this game but trust me bro ragnarök got some of the best side quests i've seen in gaming
Some of them are pretty ‘checklist-ish’. But the Dragon missions especially the Konunsgard one and Brok and Sindri’s respective favours are very good.

When fighting Revenants (witches), use Atreus' shock arrows. They'll immobilize the Revenants long enough for you to do a combo or runic attack.

56:55 a small hint for fighting these enemies is to use your fists and build up that stun bar and then use the stun special (R3) and Kratos rips off the armour of then you can use weapons

Really enjoying this series. After Ragnarok, you should give Doom 2016’s hardest mode a try and also Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite’s hardest modes a try. Both very challenging.
Doom is another one of those cult classics I'm willing to try on the channel eventually for sure

In ragnarok, if you hold triangle it frosts up the axe or charges up the blades depenfing on which one is equipped but im not sure if you can do it in this one, maybe give it a try.
