I was born in 76....and when I was younger... remember my parents always listening to his music....and I just love all his music!!! One of my favorites is "OUT OF HAND"!!! ❤😊 If you can give it a review buddy! This song as well is a fav🎹🎸🥁🪕 -Steve Rockwood😊
Just found your channel, I was looking for Gary Stewart reviews, didn't think I would find one, but Wow I did, Gary Stewart is the best Honky Tonker singer ever. I've worn out 8 tracks, cassettes of this man, I loved him, RIP Gary, A big fan from Alabama.
Jenkins KY is eastern and right on the ky/Virginia border. It's a coal mining town and much of. Gary's family still live there. He came back and played the festival Jenkins days years ago. People came from Missouri, Texas ECT to see him. He was an all time great. Know his family well.
Gray Stewart was live in Fort Pierce Florida and play night clubs when he was found by Ralph Emery then he went to Nashville Tennessee he passed away in 2003 in Fort Pierce Florida
Gary went into Frankie and Johnny’s bar in Ft. Pierce and my Dad Roger (Gary’s cousin) and a few other friends and family were there and several of them were getting divorced or dumped and Gary wrote this about that! The truest line the ole bars ain’t changed, just a new face or two!
I love Gary Stewart's music! I remember hearing his songs on the radio when I was a kid in the 70's but I never really got into his stuff until my years at Texas A&M when I would hear his songs blasting over the speakers as we drank beer at The Dixie Chicken. Good music--great memories!
It has been reported that Bob Dylan was a huge Gary Stewart fan. He listened to Gary Stewart “10 Years of This” over and over. When on tour with Tom Petty, Bob detoured to a trailer park in Florida to meet Gary. Do some research on old articles to substantiate. And consider 10 Years for your next review.
Gary played piano in Charlie Pride's band for years. Great very talented singer songwriter. Sadly, he committed suicide a few months after his wife's death. Bob Dylan highly praised Gary's songwriting.
He was one of the best! Got to see him many times when I was a little girl...yea, I was one of those in the early 70’s that had parents that took you to bars. Anyhow, he was a big thing in Houston. Gary’s the one that locked Johnny Paycheck in a hotel so he would be their the next day for them to play a concert in Beaumont with George Jones...No show Jones didn’t show.
I went to a bar called the melody ranch with t mamaw and paw paw when I was very little and seen Gary Stewart, anytime he was playing near ftvworth in my older years we always went and seen him, my mamaw taught me to dance to Gary Stewart as a kid. I am 41 now. My mamaw drove a Cadillac, we would jam Gary on the old white cassette tape. She had a brief case type cassette holder with all the jams in it! I lost her last year and I sure do miss her more than anything I’ve ever could have imagined. So many great/funny memories. Then I just break down and cry. She is still hands down the #1 lady in my life. I sure miss u mamaw.
@@richardjackson5025 These artist and their voices bring back vivid memories. Being born in Lake Charles, La...My momma and daddy were me aw and pawpaw.
He never lived that experience but sang it like he did. Gary was a 17 year old when he met a beautiful 20-year old girl with black hair and a car of her own. They fell quickly in love and married. When, after decades of marriage she died the week of Thanksgiving in 2003, Gary tried to go on alone but couldn't. He killed himself on December 16. Couldn't make it a month without her.
Love the shirt! Billy Strings, "While I'm Waiting Here". I've recommended it before, but holy cow, you've got to hear these guys. Doubt many people have heard of them so it won't get many likes, but.... trust me!
Please, Please, Please... Here's the vid from OurVinyl th-cam.com/video/8PMHmOvtp6E/w-d-xo.html ... you may want another version if they tend to block theirs.
Gary Stewart, "King of H*onkytonk". Born in Kentucky, raised in Florida from a young age, but his heart was in Texas. He loved playing out here and did so alot. He even made an album and title song called, "I'm a Texan". My favorite song and album by the same name is "Out of Hand"...considered by many to be one of the top ten country albums ever made! You definitely made a good choice to put him on your channel!
He was married to the same lady over 40 years. When she died he shot himself shortly thereafter. I remember his music but see now just how good he was. And a tortured soul.
