You can't count Lego points when earned and then again when used or you are double counting them. You have to pick one way to count them and stick with that way for all purchases. Otherwise you won't remember how you counted them for each set and you will end up counting them as a discount twice
@TheBrickQuest It's a clickbait title because the reality is you could spent money to get the Insider Points. You spent money to buy sets that earned the GWPs.
Assuming you earn back what you spent by reselling GWP is a risky strategy. That's not money you have. And what people list items for on Ebay is not necessarily what they sell for. You see in the screenshots dozens of resellers all trying to do what he did. It drives the actual sale price way down. Plus to have to pay to ship it and pay a 15% fee to Ebay.
Great tips - I did the exact same things this Black Friday for my Lego purchases. I’d say however that tip 1 is invalid - it’s very misleading/false accounting to double count your Insider Points, they’re only realised gains once you spend them, not when you earn them (they have no monetary value at that point in time). A good extra tip - Lego are running £5 worth of Insider vouchers for 200 points (75% off, maximum of 3) which I think is on until tomorrow (27 Nov ‘23) so worth grabbing that while you can!

Yes I was. If you do separate orders in store you can actually turn right around and use the points you just earned from the first order. I just kept all the points I earned on the Black Friday trip for a future visit.

I would say there is more slightly involved that just selling GWPs. GWPs are a part though.
