I love how he gets really happy when the crowd laughs and claps loudly. Every time he gets a real good laugh out of then he gets a big smile on his face
It’s adorable. I wanna give him a hug.
Gives him fuel I'm sure as well.
I can't remember the last time I smiled the way mitch does when his jokes land and the audience laughs and claps
He's just such a sweet soul. You can see it in his eyes. He's obviously troubled with addiction and demons, but his heart is real.
And when they don’t laugh, he remembers Yoplait’s admonition to “please try again.”
"Escalators do not break, they only become stairs"

You know a comedian is great when you can listen to the same jokes of his time and time again and they are always just as funny.
Bill Hicks comes to mind. ✌️✌️
I'm not crying when I hear them now, but I still smile and laugh
True!
or you know a comedian sucks when you can sit there without laughing one time at any of his jokes cause they are not at all funny.

Years ago Chris Rock and Steven Wright performed each other’s material in their own unique styles at a charity event. It was hilarious!!
“Here’s a picture of me when I was younger”
“Dude EVERY picture of you is when you were younger”
This guy is the most Southern-sounding Minnesotan I've ever heard.
It’s the pot
it's the heroin.
Hilarious(maybe true also ) answers here. But he also started comedy in Florida & lived there for a while.
That’s the stoner accent 😂
Interesting fact: Bigfoot saw Mitch Hedberg on Letterman.
and he was blurry.............
Yeah I have a picture of that. They were younger.
What a twist, did not see that coming.
Bigfoot has blurry vision too and can see us before we see them because we are clear and therefore we standout.
Or maybe he saw Mitch at the store...
I used to love Mitch Hedberg, i still do, but i used to, too
edit: is it stolen, yes. Do I care if you bitch in the comments
“No the hell i don’t”
Mitch would either love this comment, or he would hate it.
Or he would think it was OK...

I never comprehend why some don’t like his stuff. He was GREAT! I discovered him too late.
The yogurt bit is a well thought out original and an instant classic. RIP Mitch
Lol.. I've wondered the same thing when opening yogurt.

@@billyb4790 "Try Again" means "You didn't win. Try again." But the shorter "try again" is open to interpretation. So that's what he did.

The reason I looked up this guy. I watched the credits to figure out who he was... 7 years in my favorite comedian ever
that's awesome that you're just discovering Mitch Hedberg!
check out more of his material. often he outwits the audience. cheers!
That '70s Show. Great episode!
Your last sentence is too long. It ends after Vietnam
He was shot during the Vietnam era too. He was too young to serve but was shot in 1969 when he was 8 year old in a hunting axe a dent in Canada. Vietnam "era" he said.
he's a great one-liner type
which is harder to do i think then other types of comedy
I think you mean: The great one liner King.
kyle mossi groucho marx is the true king of one liner, do your homework lol
W1Ck3DM80 for a discussion about comedy you seem really uptight
Thank you Captain obvious...
Mitch had such an interesting way of looking at things. His delivery is a shy, reserved one, because he never really thought he was good.
But he was. This isn't necessarily a strong show by the man, but make no mistake, he was funny.
Adolph Oliver Bush
+ I think wrong , Steven wright type , he already has u bought in to his act 👍, he is subliminal ,
🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳Adolph Oliver Bush
+ A.O. B., 'Yeah .., well that's just like ur ... opinion man' 🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳
Like he needs ur affirmation👍😳
Actually this delivery is caused more out of his use of drugs namely cocaine. When he first started he was much more confident and wasn’t on drugs. As time went by he became a completely different person on and off the stage. His original stage personality was cool and calm with slow and concise delivery. By now he has developed a stammer and is fidgety all the time on and off the stage. He was another great comedian gone too soon from drugs.
I don't know why, but he reminds me of Kurt Cobain. Both were shy, reserved geniuses, and both really stood out from the crowd of their respective professions.
I cannot get enough of Mitch Hedberg. Wish I was into comedy when he was alive.
mitch is such a unique comedian, i understand why some people think he sucks, but there is just something about him! love this guy!
Anybody who thinks Mitch Hedberg sucks, is dead inside.
He was not a comedian, he was a philosopher. Always blew my mind!
Just like Carlin.
thats right cause he aint funny

But we still don't know what's holding our trousers up?
Who is the real hero. Belt or loops?
Man I miss this dude so much. His Comedy is timeless and hilarious
No one was as brilliant as Hedberg. I had the opportunity to see him live over 40 times and some of the big comics of today are a fucking joke in comparison to him. Total Legend!
There's lots of brilliant comics...just different kinds . He's a very unique comic and a legend for sure.
That said i know it sucks his career was cut very short but he never stood anywhere near George Carlin or Bill Hicks , Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Louis CK etc
John Cristopher I've seen all of them live that you've mentioned except Bill Hicks they couldn't even pretend to be as good and funny as him live. I've seen it it's like magic you can't explain. Live when he was on fire was unmatched the tv spots show his act but they don't capture the magic in the rooms when he was at his height.
Man...i need to see some live comedy. I've seen countless live concerts but no big comedy acts in person...not even Seinfeld and he does the rounds through every second town...shit i've seen Bob Dylan a few times waaaay past his prime i might add and i've never even seen Jerry
That musta been awsome seeing Carlin live...sucks that the best at everything are dead
Have any links of more Hedberg stuff to recommend ?

" I used to do drugs, I still do but I used to too " 🤣🤣🤣 gets me every time
Unfortunately it was all too true.
Mitch had severe social anxiety. O know because I used to have it too. I still do, but I used to too.
Alright. Okay. You pulled that off.
Love the Grumpy.
I used to find that joke funny the first 1000 times I heard it.
I mean, I still do, but I used to too.

Best joke is still "Dogs are forever in the push-up position". That's Mitch.

Best one-liner comedian in history. Genius.
i don't know how he managed to perform without shades
whitedevil2 drugs helped
Heroin generally does wonders for anxiety
You'll notice he was looking down at the floor the whole time.
Known for his debilitating stage fright
Looks like he's got his eyes closed.
Thanks for posting these. I've recently become aware of Mitch Hedberg and haven't laughed so much in a while.
One of the things -- one of the many things -- that made Mitch Hedberg so unconventional and yet so funny was the emphasis he put on the unexpected syllable. He often didn't just accent the one you'd expect, but one or two more, as in "YO-PLAIT." "TENN-is BALLS," "SEM-i CIR-cle." It just worked.
Whether he did it consciously or not he consistently makes use of a small set of metrical feet, specifically the trochee, spondee and cretic. Kinda gives it a Shakespearean quality
Beautiful Man, beautiful soul and funny AF. RIP 😢
Mitch never fails to cheer me up
Mitch seems like he'd be genuinely pleased, maybe even surprised, that we still enjoy his work. We miss you, friend. RIP!
Some people are good at telling jokes, others like Mitch are just purely funny people, period. RIP Mitch.
A unique take on the human experience makes him super funny. Love this guy!
"What the hell, cut them up" Oh lord my insides hurt hahaha!
Saw him at the Comedy Works in Denver. Funniest show I've been to. He never looked up at the audience, just rattled off one joke after another, every now and then looking at jokes written on a notepad
I love his joking response to the applause "ain't that about time someone said that?" you know he knows it's such a weird thing to clap to, haha
One of my faves of Mitch's (not in this set): "A severed foot is the ultimate stocking stuffer."
This guy was my favorite comedian of all time his bits were so deep yet so Incredibly stupid at the same time, pure genius ,why do the good ones always die so young while Rosie o' Donnell continues to live?
Bigfoot saw me but nobody believed him
Like those blinds, you seem like a good guy.
It's because you were blurry and it was at Letterman.

Why is that Blackjack joke so God damn funny? I can't stop laughing!
Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright are the kings of one liner comedy.
They definitely seem to be cut from the same comedy clothe, and they're both absolutely hilarious
god i love and miss him so much. got to see him once and i cherish that memory. one of the funniest smartest comics ever. even here you hear jokes that he'd deliver slightly better later one. he understood that the delivery of a joke was as important if not more important than the joke itself

@Barry Dillard well hello 🌺
Another talent lost too soon. He was so funny it was incredible. He could make common sense hilarious. He'd blow your mind with his delivery. RIP Mitch you are missed.
I miss Mitch Hedberg. He was a true artist when most comics need vulgar language to be funny Mitch was a comic apart.
he did swear, but only sometimes
Vulgarity is NOT FUNNY, FOXX, MURPHY after him, and many others (Dice Clay) use vulgarity for it's purely shock value...it gets old, fasT!! Now Carlin's 7 words routine; though it did use vulgrity, did so by enticing people to think about the world we live in, why can't these words be used in TV, and of course Lenny Bruce opened that door for many other comedians that followed. Bruce and Carlin were not just comedians, though both were at times hillarous, but were social activist, holding up a mirror to hypocrosy and "social norms"!
Mitch Hedberg- The Greatest Comedian that ever will be.
As good as Mitch was, I would put many more before him.
Starting with George Carlin, Richard Pryor, and Rodney Dangerfield just to name a few of the most prolific. But I did like Mitch.
Pringles jokes is so fuckin good 😭😭😭😭
Gah, I miss Mithch Hedberg so much. He was hilarious
The picture joke was hilarious!!

This is peak Mitch. He's got the voice and the timing, and he's not fucked up.

That Yoplait bit always kills me
A few years ago I had xm in my car and kept hearing Mitch. I thought. "Hey, this guy is hilarious! He ranks right up there with my other two favorites Robin Williams and Bill Engvall". Imagine how sad I was to hear of his passing. Your fellow Minnesotans miss you Mitch! R.I.P.
The odd thing about Mitch is that I think I would have loved him as a person as much as I loved him as a comedian. His death still really bothers me.
This was an answer on Jeopardy. Made me wanna watch Mitch for a bit.
He was extremely socially awkward, so it might seem odd that he became a comedian that performs onstage. I imagine that initially he used comedy as a means to cope with social awkwardness earlier in life and then used drugs to help him actually do his comedy on stage. And this ultimately killed him. He does most of his set with his eyes closed, which is another indicator of his dilemma.
That's also why he started wearing sunglasses on stage. Then he could occasionally look up at the audience without them looking him in the eye.
@@roberthamill2451Yep.
Kurt Cobain was the same way
