Im glad to see redcat doing so well there is a lot of cat haters out there i hope redcat continues on this mission and rub some of those haters noses in it
I’ve been a redcat fan for a while now. I’m a budget builder and I love to see redcat listening to their clients and delivering. Well done and great video.
Yep, and those very haters will be first in line now that they see what Redcat offers and the price tag to match!! All the while, the big name brands will still be charging $5-$6 hun for their crap with a brushed motor!! GO REDCAT !!
Theirs nothing better than competition!! Competition as in Redcat forcing the BIG name brands to either drop their prices or shut their doors!! Great job, Redcat. All these other companies are charging us 5/6 hundred dollars for cheap quality , brushed motors, etc. Redcat is coming out with carbon rails, brushless systems, weighted hubs, you name it, and for a very respectful price tag!!
Just in case anybody is wondering , I really truly would like to see Redcat succeed since they have finally stepped up after all these years . I want to see RTR out of the box comparisons with absolutely zero modifications. You know and I know that that is the only way you are going to have a fair comparison.
You can put me on the list. Red cat did a great job on this truck. If you’re going to market it as a comp truck, it needs to be able to comp. To me #1 issue is it doesn’t have the turning radius to comp. Where in any comps around here reverse’s are points. And this truck will need reverses to make gates period. This isn’t based on emotions or brand loyalty. It is a good starter truck, but the turning will get you and that is something that can’t be fixed on this.
@ExocagedRC I'll definitely watch that one! I'm a bit of a vanquish fan, but you can't say no to the fusion for the price. What you get for what you pay is absolutely great
Thank you. One of the very few channels with information I trust. The others tell you who's better and then shows video to back up their claims. You let the rigs do the talking in real world extreme comp conditions. CK
Not too concerned if the Redcat can hang with the Vanquish, the Fusion is an excellent truck! Period. But, yeah, if you're going to put them head-to-head, they need to be on the same tires/inserts! Your channel, do what you want, but viewers do keep asking for this so, yeah, there's that 👍
I'd say I prefer the red cat if I had to buy either. looks like it just needs a wider offset on the tires. the vanquish seemed quite a bit wider than the red card, so I imagine that help with all the side hills. also, if you had to build your own truck with some of the upgrades that the red cat comes with, I don't think you could do it for $400
Dang I finished a custom build somewhat similar to Sam a month ago. I wish I would have waited to get the ascent fusion, could have saved myself $300 😂 I am so impressed by it
Redcat not messing around for sure! Absolutely LOVE it that we have another company, besides Vanquish, with what seems to be a solid RTR. What company is next? Come on Element and Axial….!?!?!?
Axial does have the SCX10PRO but as a kit. It seems to be close to these 2 overall, but the price is much higher and aluminum chassis vs carbon on these 2.
Redcat today's winner, great lookin new rig and seems too work very well will be puttin in time to get yet other amazing rig from redcat thank you for the great review and run videos happytrails
If you did that, you'd also have to add offset to the Redcat, considering the vanquish looks to be an inch wider. This definitely wasn't a direct comparison, fun none the less
It's good to see redcat coming out with something to compete with the better crawlers out there. Need to have the same wheels and tire on them to make a better comparison.
Great video. I wanted to see it vs the Stance. The Fusion is $100 less. It would be interesting to see the stance bone stock and the Fusion with $100 worth if upgrades. My guess is the fusion would crawl circles around it.
@@themountain59 Of course it does. Depends on terrain and lines of course. Long wheelbase is better at extremely steep declines and inclines. That's the only advantage. But a short wheel base turns sharper, and is much better at getting over sharp edges that would catch on your belly. Because they have a better approach angle than a long wheel base. So typically I find a short wheel base is more versatile. The single advantage of a long wheel base is less significant than sharp turning and not getting hung up. Again depending on terrain.
Can you do it again with matching tires LOL I'm a big red cab fan I think the vanquish still has it by a good margarine though. LOL maybe run an original redcat with the DSM off-road chassis too
I still have a losi night Crawler and it could slow crawl way better than my buddies Redcat. Like this video, its not Crawling if all you do is burnout to gets through objects. I wish The Night Crawler was still availible to purchase. Id buy 5 of them.
I stand by that red cat hundred percent I have the original version axle swapped with 10 three axle so I have more aftermarket support but I’m curious to know how the stock is fusion ascent does on the same tires as a vanquish truck in this video the redcat is sitting on one of the best tires in the game in my opinion
I definitely think they both should have the exact same Tire I think where people are going to say is Vanquish is known to build solid parts red cat has had some fails back in the day I heard I don't know for sure how do you say that's what people are going to say
Yeah I have another video set for tomorrow that shows the Fusion against the Carbon with the same tires. It’s rainy right now so nothing would do well out there.
Lmao “ red cat has issues with the crack it’s back end coming up” usually what happens when you see to much crack lol sorry had to out the dad joke in there everybody lol
Why wouldn’t you use stock tires on both for a more accurate test? Especially since tires play a big role in crawling and using megalithics too was even a bigger advantage.
@@themountain59 The Ascent has a $40 set of tires and $30 beadlocks. The stance, has other upgrades he mentioned but we will just say it has a $30 set of beadlocks. That still brings price for Ascent to we will say $470 vs stance $530. That's still $60 difference. Still, heck of a bargain considering it comes with a fusion SE out of the box.
@@TheRCBuildersPostyup, agreed, And brass on the front. They are both good trucks but value for money , the redcat can’t be beat…. It’s all in your end goal and what you want to do. But if serious comp was your thing. Then should probably buy a bed carbon kit…. And not an rtr.
just remember the front end geometry is very poorly designed. the panhard bar hits everything and doesn't allow near enough droop and holds the chasis to high above the axle
Lol when has traxxas ever been up to par? Ten years ago maybe? The bar has moved but traxxas still insists on selling the same brushed models for twice the price they used to be
My lhs and hobby town no redcat parts in stock. Like walking into shop to buy parts. Dont have time to order on line and pay with plastic to only have an at door delivery get stolen as in the past.
was fun to watch. but these are still 2 very diff rigs. to compare, need same tires, inserts, and diff lines.. i.e. gates because that forces you to not shuffle for other grab points. vanquish, especially the carbon kit, is as close to a fabrication as you can get and should run circles around all rtr's. if it doesn't, something is wrong. As much as I like to see these new electronics in an rtr, redcat still didn't go where it should have gone; put something else in it, like soa or even a dig and not just clone what other og ascent have done. this is not an entry level rig neither; what person, new to the hobby, would buy such an expensive rig to start though. I always ask when a 'new' thing comes out in the market: what is it doing to progress in its field.
No ecto? This could be an actual fair comparison!?!?!? These conclusions feel like a wash. Without the same foam /tire equivalent this video is irrelevant and has 0 meaning
I cannot believe you even said it was neck and neck with the stance. That comparison was far from a fair comparison. Your stance has been modified therefore this comparison you made is null and void in my opinion. I want to see the same comparison stock out of the box both trucks, and I am sure many of the people that commented want to see the same thing. This video was a waste of your time and mine as well.
Hell, for the price difference I'd say the Vanquish is trash lol! Over 100 dollars more base price AND all those upgrades to just be like as good as the redcat? Eeeehhhhh.
I'd love to see it with both having the same tire/wheel combo, to make it apples to apples
Spot on. Nonsense comparison this one.
And same offset. The stance is like and inch wider, I'd take an inch of offset any day over the latter

It would be interesting to see them both with the same tires and also some wheel spacers on the Redcat so the track width is the same.
Where is the guy that said there was no comparing these two lol

For real and stock vs stock rig will be the best option
The red cat fusion was stock
@@crowtubecrozier2857no it wasn’t. He says it in first 10 seconds. Wheels, tires, and inserts have been replaced.

Yes, only wheels/tires/inserts. Stance was heavily modded. Fusion was 100% stock except for tire, wheels, & foam.
2fmrc will have a totally stock comparison soon.
That fusion is top notch!
I hate those vxt tires. Put them on my gspeed fs and they refuse to hook up. At all. Freaking krawlers held better on my v3
Those vxts kill it for the first few runs but get worse and worse every run
This is so true!
@ExocagedRC worse thing about mine is I have antifoams in them so it's an expensive setup... all for terrible performance.
Unfair test need to run the same tire on both trucks
Kudos to axial an element. They need to step up the game now!!! a lot of competitors are coming out
I'm definitely buying a fusion
Wow. Might have to get this redcat
Nice comparison, going to talk my buddy into making it up to one of your comps. 👍🏾💯

Swap tires side to side and retest just for fun

What would be a fair competition between these two Awesome RTR Crawlers is if you did with stock trucks right out of the box !!!
Redcat for the win because of the price
But mah StAnCe! 😅 But mah ReDcAt! 😂Stay climbing 🫡
LOL YEP!
Tires can make or break a crawler. Hard to compare when they got different rubber
That redcat is doing really well. Next time no stretched chassis and both on their stock tires, or both on Megas.
Yes, otherwise it gets some kind of a “paid by Redcat” taste
I’ve noticed my VXTs were good at first then faded fast, unlike most tires that scrub in to be better.
Sweet rims on the cat👍
The redcat is a beast
The shorter wheel base is a big advantage in comp crawling
Kinda depends on the terrain
Advantage?? I dont think so .

Why would you compare them with different tires
The VXT2 tire has been a bit of a let down for me in the northeast. Maybe a different foam would help but not sure which ones to try out.
Redcat wasn't running it's stock tires?
He’s said he’s going to do another comparison now with them both running the same tires and hopefully foams.
For this to be anything like fair the Stance shoulda been on the same wheel tyre combo right?

The stance need to be stocked. Also would make it more comparable stock versus stock.
I agree but I modded it weeks ago and those links are on another truck. I can't afford to buy 2 trucks to keep stock.

How about a run between these 3 but using the same tires & wheels on both?

Ive got a stance with weights wheels/tires, raw500, brushless. Its pretty good, but a little overhyped at stock
But still better than ascend,huh?
whats the run time on those little batteries with the redcat?
20-30 minutes with the 1500's I think this had an 850 so 10-15
Huge tire mismatch. Tires mean too much to Do a comparison this way imho
Why wouldn’t you use stock tires on both for a more accurate test? Especially since tires play a big role in crawling and using megalithics too was even a bigger advantage.
Well this fusion had already 100$ on upgrades to it😉....those wheels and tires+inserts wont come free.
