your videos have all the goods. always great information mixed with excellent videography skills.. im having a tough time deciding between a redact fusion or trx hightrail. lots of mud an trails here in BC CAN. not sure of the fusions ability in them categories. but wow what a beautifully made truck out the box from redcat
Happy easter everyone. Just installed 12t crawlmaster sport on the ascent. Did hyrax tires, injora wheels esc relocate with rubberbands on the #ascent18 to go on early crawl at red rocks in few hours!! 👍
Family in the comments, I need your help! Please read! I am currently looking for my next RC! The only problem is, I want a 1/5 scale, but I don't want an Xmaxx! Is the vigilante really as fun as it looks? It's between that and the XRT. 😅 I personally like the redcat better, opinions?
I’d try to hold off and see how people feel about the redcat soon. Think people like RC Guy garage are having some problems. Not sure how big of a deal they are though
I would guess minus the tires. $200 for the Furitek brushless system and let’s say $100 in brass. So roughly $300ish? But you can put in the same brushless system the new fusion has “honbywing fusion se 1800” for $79 then brass for $100 then a carbon fiber chassis that the fusion has as standard. All in all I’d give a thumbs up to Redcat for putting this new version ascent fusion for a great price. If someone is buying for their kids or friends to borrow when you go out crawling the standard for $300 is just fine.
I felt like the very first line you pull that the ascent would have taken it if you didn’t pause for a different camera position in that it needed constant movement. Nice video
@@markcole6475I heard that but thought he was saying he'd put a Furitek in the OG Ascent. I was thinking "I didn't know Furitek made tenth scale systems".
@@farmoboy83yeah, dude owns and operates a RC playground. I think it opens to the public on weekends. Had his own track, several crawler courses, jumps, and concrete racing pad. The Exoplex.
the original ascent I think has more potential once you removed all the extra and unneeded plastics and braces. then you move the servo to axle, and stick in a fusion; but then again, there is really no way to get a good idea if soa is better than the fusions' lower motor. really, what it comes down to is the geometry and how it plants the wheels, how it balances itself on inclines, declines, and sidewall; how its pushes the wheels back on the ground. unfortunately both ascent suffer from poor geometry and with the rear having less clearance than the front, there just isn't enough pro's to this rig. the true positive is if redcat sets a trend for having more brushless systems; unfortunate with that is they come with real cheap parts and an unavailable cheap brushless system saying its to keep costs down, but we know that its really to keep their profits up.
I would have been much more interested in a stock Ascent vs a stock Ascent Fusion. See what difference $100 really makes? 🤔
Happy easter. The fusion body sounds like a proline when it takes a hit lol
Happy Easter, Thanks for sharing!!!
👍🤪 & Happy Easter!

Great video - now all I need to know is how much money was spent on the mods to the original ascent. I guess the rtr fusion is cheaper?? By how much?😮

Shock in the Ascent gen 1 is stock? Or no interior spring?
👍😁😎✌️
Happy Easter!!!!
Isn’t the ascent fusion using the HW fusion system?
Cool comparisons tho.
Yes & a few other differences.
@@old-rcplane-phart in the video he called the fusion a furitek ……..probably just a slip of the tongue..

@@themountain59 yeah, that's the confusion. Exo called it a Furitek in the beginning of the video.
At 3:50 to 4:00 heard shot gun . Is your rc park near a range.
Happy Easter bro!
those pilled rocks are inside your property or in a public space?
You’ve never heard of the exoplex lol. It’s his own property

lol I'm recording 3 more crawl videos today.
Can we see a VRD vs SCX 10 Pro on portals? Is a SCX 10 on portals literally a VRD?

Ascent is junk , both versions.

I own 2 Everest ascents, and the fusion. I think they're pretty sweet.. To each their own...
My rtr fusion goes places my tricked out vrd carbon goes...
