Yep... I've been binge watching this year... just got a few episodes beyond Mark's death, but just really dont feel like going on. To me ER was Mark Greene. (Maybe if I tell myself the rest is a sequel... 😉)
Dr. Greene was the heart of that show. Once he left it was still watchable with Carter around but I couldn't carry on after Season 11 when he left too.
He has a way of dying so memorably so you have to kind of shake yourself and remind yourself Goose isn't real. Mark isn't real. But the hurt you feel really is real.
Anthony Edwards has always been a very grounded, well liked actor. He's one of those whose been around a long time but has never been dragged through the media in a negative manner.
He left. He wanted to do other things. He wasn't planning to come back. I thought the story line was appropriate for an actor who brings so much humanity to his roles.
Jesús Garrido you mean remembered as Goose in Top Gun but also will be remembered as Dr Mark Greene on the long running medical show ER from 1994 to 2002.
I'm so in love with this man. Watching him in EVERYTHING he does he just seems so normal. Not only ER...everything he has done. And I thought Johnny Depp was hot. Nope!!! Got nothing on Anthony! He's my dreamboat
I have owned a copy in various media of everything Anthony Edwards has ever done because I am a huge fan. He did a number of films that are dated but were excellent for the time period in which they were produced. Gotcha! -- an older woman takes a youth's "innocence" ala Risky Business -- and Miracle Mile -- a very dated but for the time very beautiful account of a man who answers a payphone wrong number from a guy in a missile silo who says nuclear war has been launched -- were excellent for those respective genres. I fell in love with Mark Greene the first time I watched E.R. From what I've read, Mr. Edwards is not only grossly underrated as an actor but is also a very humane person.
It's silly, but I only just relatively recently realized that two of my favorites from decades past were actually the same person: Mark Green and Goose. Thank you for this fun interview.
I'm just now seeing this in 2020 and I'm still like we need a re-vamp of Dr. Greene...I will never understand why his character had to leave 😭😭 Anthony Edwards, I hope you and your family are well,we wish you the best! You are greatly missed on the screen 😭
He had 4 young kids and wanted to spend more time with them. I think he has said his wife and kids were based in NY and he filmed in LA and Chicago for ER. I understand him leaving but they didn’t have to kill him off. 😭
Anthony is one of the most human performers out there. He did an amazing job as Dr. Green
Dr. Greene was the most important character in E.R. Anthony Edwards was amazing in the part. The show was never the same after his character died.
Yup, after he left the show, I started to watch less!!!

So so agree. Like when his character dad died, it was awful

I just started watching ER again recently and man Season 8 of ER I cried like a child, Wish he was never killed off.
Me too! On season 3
He left. He wanted to do other things. He wasn't planning to come back. I thought the story line was appropriate for an actor who brings so much humanity to his roles.
I just think about that last episode and I start crying remembering how freaking sad it was! 😎😎

Lauren Nomina Anthony left his role in the 8 th season to spend more time with his family
He had 4 young kids and wanted to spend more time with them. I think he has said his wife and kids were based in NY and he filmed in LA and Chicago for ER. I understand him leaving but they didn’t have to kill him off. 😭

For me Gotcha will always be his quintessential role and best film.
Wow!!!! Really cool...
I knew him as dr. Greene before goose 😂
He played dr Green very well.
He would do a good job playing Gene Siskel in a Siskel & Ebert documentary!😯
Traducción en castellano ,por favor😢
I like his work in Hawks, but they also missed his "SoCal guy" in The Sure Thing..
Today anthony 62 years

Well, we all grow old. It's apart of life. We don't stay young forever.
What an awkward sentence!
Kezia Ratna Anthony Edwards is now 57 years old thats not that old but he has aged from he was on ER. We all grow older and can’t be young forever.
Tommy McDaniel no, of course not! He is alive and well
