Gears of War 3 is the final game in the trilogy, and was announced by Cliff Bleszinski on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on NBC. It was originally going to be released in April 2011, but was pushed back to Holiday 2011. It was officially released on September 20, 2011. Set 2 years after Gears of War 2 and the fourth Gears of War novel, the game has 4 Player Co-Op. The story for the game was written by Karen Traviss.
Gameplay
Epic Games continued to refine the cover system in Gears 3, making it the best in the industry.
Some other gameplay elements have been added, including the ability to kill enemies whilst jumping over cover. The mech gameplay, as well as the new enemies, changes how the game flows as well

"Ever feel like you've dead but nobody told you"-Cole, dang I felt that
So many people see Cole as a joke character but that scene really shows his humanity and how hard the war has been on him. He's just better at hiding it than the others.
I still play this game, almost daily in 2021. The lancer is my favorite weapon. If I can pair it with a retro lancer, a boomshot, or a locust hammer burst, I can pretty much handle anything. You need the lancer for the entire game. The chainsaw bayonet is irreplaceable and nothing holds as much ammo. The retro lancer is hard to aim and doesn’t hold much ammo, but nothing works better for hurting enemies when they’re stupid enough to bunch up and charge in groups. A boomshot can work like a man portable mortar, and the locust hammerburst makes a surprisingly good DMR (designated marksmans rifle). It’s accurate, has a slow rate of fire, it’s easy to aim, and each bullet has high damage. I like the snub pistol for its speed and accuracy in a pinch. The gorgon pistol is nice when you can get it. It will put a ‘hurtin on enemies at close range and can be used as a main weapon if all the others run out of ammo because it holds so many rounds.
Hey Joe, you are cool. Also, I'm replaying the games for the second time in my life now in 2021 (the first time, I played them when they came out). The thing is, I'm playing thier enhanced X versions and only now I feel I'm getting the full picture, literally and figuratively. It's amazing.
This mans aversion to the Lancer in all 3 games so far has me scratching my head 🤣
The Lancer is good but the other weapons he was using were far more accurate. I use the Lancer myself, so I feel you there but this guy was playing with accuracy in mind.
I think all guns are perfectly viable, which is what makes these games such a perfect sandbox

I kind of missed it, In a... weird killing monsters kind of way.
2nd best gears game followed by gears 2. now that game was a fucking masterpiece.

Playing this for the 2nd time on my series x. It's crazy that this game looks better than most games that are released today. The color is just so beautiful and its so satisfying to shoot a weapon in this game.

I thinkthe Lancer has always been underpowered compared to other weapons, they should buff it.

I always use the lancer. For me, chainsaw bayonet for CQB cannot be replaced. I’m more of a medium to long range player so I use the lancer to lay down fire from behind cover without putting myself at risk. I know a lot of people like using a powerful short ranged weapon, like a shotgun, and closing the distance to blast the enemy to pieces. Not me. Of course, I always pair it with a more powerful secondary weapon. I primarily use the chainsaw bayonet on the rare occasions enemies somehow get too close. The bayonet takes care of them quickly. The chainsaw bayonet is also the only defense against another chainsaw bayonet. If they have one and you don’t, you get chopped up.
I remember playing this campaign on Insane for the Major Malfunction title, took me like 2 weeks to beat it. The Lambent Berserker trails are an insta-death, queen myrrah kills you through walls, etc. So much fun.
I've never watched anyone so painfully bad at gears, ridiculous gun combinations, doesn't know where they're going, no in game music and the aiming is truly god awful!

Just started Gears of War 4 after splashing out on a new Xbox. Being a Gears fan i've completed the first 3 countless times it's nice to have some new narrative to play through. The graphics are juicy too.

When I was a toddler back in my young childhood I visited my brother playing many games in his Xbox 360 back in early 2008, then that fateful night I seen him playing Gears of War, I was like Woah, Bryan what is the shooting robot thing game? He said This game is called Gears of War, another day he invited me to his room split screen multiplayer One on One, he won most rounds, I won some. And another Day we played Story mode together, I didn't know their names and didn't know anything about the story, he selected Which ever Act and Chapter, I was like these Guys are Fighting to Get Evil Monsters Killed in order to save their world, I was okay barely killed some, but my Bro Killed most of em, we did act 3, act 4, and act 5 fighting General Raam, I didn't exactly know brother's plan, I just went forward to attack General Raam, and got struck down, and Bryan got struck down too we failed a few Times, then managed to distract him and use the Turret got Raam Killed.
Some other days we fought Raam. Then I saw him play Gears of War 2, then when I finally got my First Xbox 360 I had my father talk to him managed to get the game, I played it learning the basics, becoming better.
But when I saw my brother using that Laser Weapon I was wondering What is that gun can't they use that on these monsters? And When I first put the disc in my first Xbox 360, I even saw the Intro listening to that woman talking about how the Locust Monsters attacked. And Then I saw the Hammer of Dawn Energized Enhanced Big Laser Destroy Locust and Human in many big Cities, and ever since that, I have always wondered for years what is that City the Hammer of Dawn Destroyed? and will we see it again? Will we go to that City? And When Gears of War 3 first trailer came out and I saw that bearded guy Oh man I feel bad for that Bearded guy whoever he is. My brother said Gabriel, that's Dom, I was like oh really?
And that City I was like That is the same city the Hammer of Dawn Destroyed. I was right we finally got to see that city again. This is the most Interesting part of that trailer, many of us Gears of War big gamers were most likely wondering Will we go to that city the Hammer of Dawn Destroyed? Then when we see that trailer, Our Questions were totally Answered Yes, and I wanted to know more about the Hammer of Dawn and Char City, I asked My Brother Can't they just use the Hammer of Dawn on the locust? Bryan Said Gabriel yeah, they already used it, they tried, they destroyed cities, Killing lots of Humans and Locust. but more locust just kept coming. In case the Hammer of Dawn was real they would TOTALLY Make many Satellites Enhanced LASER Even More Powerful than Nuclear plus Hydrogen Bombs ever were, they would make America Nuclear Bombing on Japan just be the beginning. Also Guerilla Warfare Bombing on the Vietnam War was just the beginning.

Then in Act 4 when Delta Squad goes to Char though Dom is dead, in Char we seen pumice ash remains of children, some pumice ash remains children with one parent hugging on the front, some other pumice ash remains children with two parents, there are pumice ash remains of a parent holding hands with their child while running, some pumice ash remain parent holding their child on their back, few pumice ash remain kids crawling on the ground, some pumice ash remain burnt Corpses are even one parent holding their child back also lap like that kid is already dead or injured, but all of them are horrifying sad trying to escape get to safety but failed, some people made it to Jacinto C.O.G Base to safety, but many humans along with Locust Died. This is not too bad but a little slow. I enjoyed playing as Cole in his hometown. I'm. 3 hours in and the game has sort of become.repetitive. Not sure I'm up for another 4 and a half hours.

I prefer using the lancer compared to the other guns the shotgun is nice to have for close quarters but the lancer comes in handy with that full auto option I quit using the revolver and started using that semi automatic pistol they give you in the beginning of the first 2, gears of war
