A NEW SKI BIKE VID IS UP! th-cam.com/video/Bc9hjTPlpVA/w-d-xo.html I put a wild PRO mountain biker on one of these things and send em down Whistler... It's the best ski bike vid yet, IMO.
I'm a Skibike and it's SO much fun. Was on Snowmass one day in spring snow condition. Was drifting the back end around so far, it was almost perpendicular to the slope. I felt like a little kid, hooting and giggling.
Hello !!!😀😀😀 I am from ROUMANIA , and 40 years ago we we're driving such things in the winter ( we call them sky bob ) ...so nothing new under the sun ... Maby for you it is , but not for a roumanian mountain man .😂😂😂 All the best from ROUMANIA !!!!
The point Ric makes about newbies being able to experience speed and progress faster than day 1 snowboarding/skiing makes a lot of sense. I'm a life long skier so no real interest in trying this but I see the appeal. By the way, North Shore and Squamish bike trails are running 100% mint, tacky spring conditions, no real mud or puddles at all.
So true! I've been snowboarding for years, but on my very first run on one of these I hit a huge jump that came up in front of me as I was riding down the hill, without a second thought - but on the snowboard I would have sat down and watched some others do it first, then taken a few slower runs to get familiar with the speed I would need and only then jump it at speed...
I love ski bikeing. On Saturday it's my 14th day on my bike. It's freaking awesome in the powder, off the trails and in the woods. I can't wait to next season. This is probably more fun that downhill MTB.
I just got back from a snowboarding trip to park city Utah and saw a few people riding these. I’m definitely going to try this next year! Looks like a lot of fun!
I finally got to try this at Sun Peaks a couple weeks ago, just before everything got shut down. This video was the main reason I wanted to try it, and over the course of a couple days, I answered a LOT of questions. I mentioned your channel and this video, and most of the people I talked to had heard of you. I only had two half-days to ride, but will be doing it every chance I get next year. Thanks for the inspiration!
The guy who's handling them is trying to get the business off the ground after taking it over from the previous owner, who didn't have much luck with it. Look up Ski Bike Canada at Sun Peaks. He would be thrilled if you have time to drop in next season!
You and BKXC dropping awesome winter bike videos on the same day!! I have a fat bike, but have always wanted to turn my old Giant Yukon into a ski bike. Time to order some parts.
Canada vids for everyone!! Ric was saying that people can order conversion parts through him, if you're interested in doing that. www.piste-skibikes.com/
I tried 3 days ago in Castle Mountain. After 2 hours I had big fun even if Castle has no easy pistes, really steep. The most fun was off piste from the red chair. Try, you will love it.
It's funny to watch this again after trying it. On my first run up the chairlift after a few bunny hill runs, my bike got away on me and I flew straight down the hill, unable to slow it down because the hill was really icy. I'd love to try this in powder. Also, I clenched pretty hard at 7:36, where you narrowly missed the rail. Huge respect for how quickly you picked this up and were in the trails.
Awesome stuff man! thsoe look like a fun time, they always looked boring but this is making me re-think trying them. Last time I was in Revelstoke I saw a guy bombing and hitting cat tracks getting like 30 foot drops. it was awesome! You still living in AB? hit me up if you ever want to get shown around some Calgary area stuff, I know you mentioned Razors! but I can show you some moose and Husky road stuff too! Then I can bug you for some tips and tricks using my new Hero 6! and I can see that gorgeous Evolink you built
Thanks! Oh man I'd love to get out to do some actual freeriding on one of these, once I get the skills dialled a bit more. Yup I'm in Alberta still! I've done most runs on Moose, but not on the Husky road. I hear it's going to be officially opened up this year though! Would love to meet up this year. Keep in touch!
I thought you were going to hit that rail!!!! As a mountain biker and ex snowboarder from the uk now living in Australia, this would really appeal to me.. looks awesome. Nice job.
Thats pretty cool! I used this little ski tricycle type thing when I was a kid. But as I got older I really started to like longboarding. So getting into snowboarding was a no brainer for me. Im not much of a biker, but i kinda want to try this out. Great video man! :)
Wow. That looks so much fun! Can't imagine what bombing down a hill with no brakes would feel like though. Sure, I've been on BMXs with no brakes, but not hurtling down a hill so fast. Looks insane!
I have a snogo which is a trike bike, and it’s been my favorite snow sport so far (snowboarding, skiing, skiboards, snow skateboards). Everyone who has tried it says the same thing. But now I want to try a bike like this
That was some awesome follow-footage! I'm not sure if there's a technical term for that but it was stunning. And the chest cam as well! I want a ski bike now! 🤘🏾
This is huge. I want to move to the PNW for the MTBing. I worried about winter being the same as here in the mid-west, and even considered Bend Oregon for winter riding, but I want to immigrate to Canada and meanwhile I will go to Bellingham or Portland, but winter?!! Well now who cares?? I will now have ski biking in winter!! I have snowboarded 25 years ago and had a blast ( I'm 40 was in high school then) I took a beating that weekend... drank a lot, and I imagine this is much less painful.
This was one of the most entertaining videos I've watched in awhile. BC winters are no fun, man... no fun. Haven't touched the bike since December! I'm way beyond mere withdrawal symptoms!
Looks like MAD fun, like the shots of the whole bike, (could we see more like this?) and is the 4s audio actually better than the 5s? Seams backwards...
It definitely was! Ya GoPro crapped the bed on the Hero5/6 for audio. If you don't have the Hero4 in it's water proof case (which I never do), it actually sounds really, really good.
I've been wanting to do this for a long time! It's been a pretty poor winter here in CO, and time hasn't been on my side. Hope I can get out before the ski season ends. I'd love to see some big jumps on one of these would be so sick!
Fresh Coast MTB it was! Ya when I first hopped on, my left foot instinctually tried to find a pedal where one didn't exist haha. You get used to it pretty fast.
Would it be better to have a traditional pedal setup with cranks that rotate so you can transfer weight side to side better? Looks so awkward and uncomfortable the way it is set up.
Calvin Yu I'd like the pedals to be staggered, but I don't think they would need to rotate. You're not really digging in the rear edges like you think you would, so getting your outside foot low isn't as necessary. If I get one of these in the future I'm going to ask about a staggered pedal setup, for sure. If only to emulate a normal bike feel a bit more.
I’ve got a couple videos on my channel of me riding my new snow bike! hopefully going to put more up, they sure are a Excellent way to keep the biking up in the off-season!
Yesterday i crashed "badly" with snowboard. I felt so weird i just thought i was in a different planet for good 20 mins. But that thing sure looks fun! And probably I can agree with your statement that ski bike is more fun than snowboard.
those look SO fun. someone needs to figure out an attach point for a small, semi-portable or backpackable treaded attachment for when you hit flat segments. would be so cool if you could backcountry on one of these and not have to walk it out on a flat.
That looked the business 👌🏻 As a side question we are coming over on vacation in September and will be staying in Banff for two or three days , what is the mountain biking like there because it would be rude not to ride having made the trip from England 😎
There's a ton of great biking in the area. Check out Trail forks. There's also the Nordic Centre in Canmore and other rad places nearby. I totally can see this helping to get better on a normal MTB. You'll be drifting those summer trails in no time after a season on this thing!
Haha no kidding! Two wheel drifting all day.
I'm a Skibike and it's SO much fun. Was on Snowmass one day in spring snow condition. Was drifting the back end around so far, it was almost perpendicular to the slope. I felt like a little kid, hooting and giggling.
I have always wanted to try this!
Do it! There's got to be some people in your area that Ski Bike.
Me too im working on one
Look up Tngnt ski bikes Bluffdale Utah talk to Scott Carr he is a very good guy and will help you out
You need to come out with me and Ric at Sunshine this coming winter and give it a try!👍
I em 2 subscribers away from 100 let’s see if I can get ther from this comment
This looks like way too much fun! My snowboarding brain can't compute the full awesomeness, but I may need to come give it a try!
Ya it was pretty fun. Worth trying, for sure!
Daily MTB Rider the only problem is that those bikes are 1,000 at the minimum
@@ryancorley9149 I think hiring one for a couple of days wouldn't cost that much and
@@ryancorley9149 make your own
So cool!!
Thanks man! Canadian winter vids, taking over the joint!
A vision of things to come, eh Brian? 😀
Loam rangers quote of the year.
“Uh oh there’s children!”
WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!
A combination of my two favorite sports, I’m so jealous
Same XD
Dude! That looks like so much fun man!!!!
Oh it is. I need to get back out there!
Killing it with the voiceover style! Great video, dyude.
Thanks!
Lot of lip snacking tho no offense

Ya it's very true. It was quite easy to pick up!
The plan is to get out to the Van/Sunshine Coast/Bellingham area in March. Can't wait!
I got one of these this year and started making some ski bike videos. Sooo much fun!

I would love to see you ripping jumps with it!

AAAAGH, I used to ski at sunshine all the time with a club, and I think its just so amazing how easy it is to recognize parts of the hill.

tried one this weekend, so much fun! after skiing for more than 30 years, this was a challenge! but really nice!
This looks like the most fun I would ever have in our cold Canadian winters .
Agreed!

Looks like such a fun time Ryan. I have a pair of old snow blades laying around. Gonna order the conversion kit now :)
Nice! It's gonna be a blast.
Love snowboarding and dirt biking and bikeing, looks fun as hell
That's so cool! I gotta try this when I get back to Canada!
Definitely!
Great Edit! Glad you had fun out there with Ric.
Definitely. Ric was awesome!
Looks really fun
It’s super cool how quick you were able to pick it up
Totally. It was a blast!
The Loam Ranger
Trying to use this video to convince mom she can totally enjoy a ski trip!
Hahaha
Looks great dude!
Hell yeah! That looks like so much fun, I gotta convert my old bike for the slopes.
This looked like it was a sick time. I cant wait for resorts to start renting these!
Totally. Gotta start bugging them about it!
Castle mountain (closed now) does !! They have 2 skibikes.
It's funny to watch this again after trying it. WAAAAAA!!! That looks like so much fun, definitely need to try this.
You gotta! It's pretty awesome.
that looked AMAZING!... those bikes look like they deserve big ass pedals! like Pedaling Innovations pedals... for snow boots...
That would work pretty well actually!
My fasination with this bike peaked when you said "drifftyer".
Haha it felt pretty sketchy at first, but then it was game on!
That's what its about right? lol since I live in alaska I might have to invest in one.
I love snowboarding at sunshine village I got to give this a try
Wowza!
This Video Inspired Me To Do This NOW!!
Thanks so much. Can’t wait!! 😎
Awesome! You’ll love it.
damn. i need to try this for sure. Cool coverage
Ya man, it's ridiculous.
I swore off skiing years ago, but this would get me back on the mountain
Alden Wilkins my thoughts exactly.
I'm sharing this with everybody. This is unreal!
Nice! Thanks for sharing man. Glad you liked it!
Wow so much fun I have to do the ski biking. Great video👍🏻✌🏻️
I've never ever down hill skied before but watching you do this I'm thinking wow I might do one day !
Sick new vid man. Love the different perspective and change of editting🤙
Thanks Timo! Glad you liked it. It's fun to try to tell stories in different ways.
Looks so rad but it would be total crap here in Nova Scotia on a short run with tons of ice patches on the hill. I so want to try it out 😁
Sweet! I just can't into skiing but this...this might work out.
Rick Harding exactly my thoughts as well.
Awesome! That looks like so much fun.
It was! Gotta get out and do it again, for sure.

That is the COOLEST thing I've seen!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! Ya it's tons of fun.
Well, I got to admit, this thing looks like a lot of fun!
It definitely is!
what a fantastic idea that is so cool and fun
It definitely was! Hopefully there will be more hills willing to bring some in for rental in the future.
The Loam Ranger yeah i’m from Reno NV and they definitely need to bring that here!
That looked sick. Cant wait to try it
It was pretty awesome! Definitely give it a try sometime.
Looks like MAD fun, like the shots of the whole bike, (could we see more like this?) and is the 4s audio actually better than the 5s? Seams backwards...

Hell yeah brother
But is there room for a water bottle?! 😂
That looks awesome, would so love to try this!
Haha deal breaker!
Can i get a heck ya!!! for the Alberta boys
I've been wanting to do this for a long time! It's been a pretty poor winter here in CO, and time hasn't been on my side. Hope I can get out before the ski season ends. I'd love to see some big jumps on one of these would be so sick!
I know hey? A terrain park would be incredible on one of these!
That looks like a load of fun! Was it strange to have both feet at the bottom bracket rather than that split stance we are used to on the bike?
Fresh Coast MTB it was! Ya when I first hopped on, my left foot instinctually tried to find a pedal where one didn't exist haha. You get used to it pretty fast.

my "Snowboarding daughter" said "Cool!":)
Shoutout to the brother with moment skis. Made in Reno Nevada baby.
I never get winter blues, all about snowboarding!
This is so sick!!! I have seen those before and always wanted to try one.
Nows the time! I'm sure there's a ton of people who do this in Cali.
I can't wait for a surfing bike on the water during summer!
Haha that would be ... interesting.
I'm digging that red wings pull over my brother
Haha ya he was bummed that I wasn't wearing an Oilers jersey, being that I'm from Edmonton.
That looks effing amazing!
It was a pretty awesome time!
I have a friend that has been telling me to go give this a try. This vid makes me want to. Good stuff!
I’ve got a couple videos on my channel of me riding my new snow bike! hopefully going to put more up, they sure are a Excellent way to keep the biking up in the off-season!
They definitely are! So much fun.
Just found this channel and wow. I think I’m going to start getting into mountain biking
That’s so awesome to hear! You won’t regret it 🤘🏼👌🏼
Just for the record, I love Sunshine
It was a fun mountain! I'd love to get out and check it out more.
SKI BIKE LOOKS SO MUCH FUN! 😁
Totally. You'll have to get out and try one!
Yeh bro, the skibike is a wild thing!
It is! So much fun.
Yesterday i crashed "badly" with snowboard. I felt so weird i just thought i was in a different planet for good 20 mins. But that thing sure looks fun! And probably I can agree with your statement that ski bike is more fun than snowboard.
That sucks! Head injuries are the worst. Ya I had more fun on the ski bike than I did on my snowboard a couple of weeks earlier.
cool video, ive actually been curious about them and how you actually control them. also sick moments to your filmer
Dave killed it on the filming! Glad you liked it man.
those look SO fun. someone needs to figure out an attach point for a small, semi-portable or backpackable treaded attachment for when you hit flat segments. would be so cool if you could backcountry on one of these and not have to walk it out on a flat.
Ok when winter time comes I'm buying one of these!
I go to sunshine a lot will definitely check it out
I wanna see a snow bike on a-line. In the winter of course.
That would be pretty sick!
I usually hate music in mountain bike videos, but you and Seth pull it off lol
Haha excellent.
Why did I wait this long to watch this? This is getting added to the "things to do before I die" list.
I like it! I dont have the best knees and ski and snowboard would kill them. This thing looks it might be better.
Definitely worth trying.
This is way better than Snowboarding ......... in my opinion.
I see what you did there
That looked the business 👌🏻
