Too bad it couldn't have been a dead heat. That head bob must've been a monumental heartbreaker for the owners of Candied -- but they sure named Power Squeeze right, huh? What a race!
Wow what a race! Thorpedo Anna would have crushed this field but no doubt this was an awesome renewal of the Alabama! Power Squeeze is a real overachiever.
Thorpedo should have raced in this race. Y’all will see next weekend, she doesn’t have the stride, pace , or the speed figures are too low. Bad move on Kenny, but maybe I’m wrong. Time will tell
Candied Was My Play of The Day and Thought Public Would Crush Her Down to 3-5 Odds so i Was Very Pleasantly Surprised at 9-5...No Excuse...Easily Rolled up Outside and Had Entire Stretch to Put Away Field...Saratoga Stretch Seems Like 2 Miles When Your Horse Has The Lead
@@FrankCarolei-lv6rb It's a good indication of how the boys are going to smoke Thorpedo Anna in the Travers. Thorpedo Anna is a very nice filly, no doubt, but the plain truth is the 3YO filly class other than her is pretty weak. To win the Travers Thorpedo Anna would not only have to run a lifetime best race, she would also need Fierceness, Dornoch and Sierra Leone ALL fail to run anywhere near their best lifetime races, because if any of them does she is not winning. I mean cmon, she beats up on fillies like Candied and Leslie's Rose - does anyone think the connections of Dornoch, Fierceness or SL would be even remotely worried if any of those fillies faced their boys?? Thorpedo for sure is a very nice filly, but sorry, she is no Rachel Alexandra level of talent, not even close and that is going to get exposed on Travers day. 🙂
Great Race! Javier Still Has It! Closers Ran 1-2-3. Shame The 2 Horse Veered Out Causing A Chain Reaction Bumping. Also JUST BASKING The Prairie Meadows Horse Ran A Great Close 3rd. Just Wondering If A Saratoga Top Rider Would Have Been A Better Fit. She Was Wide Both Turns & Like 10 Wide At The 1/4 Pole. Ridiculous.
Saratoga is much much better than Del Mar. I'm really disappointed with California Horse racing. Frank Stronach is too darn old, and his daughter Belinda who is running the Stronach empire into the sewer. Too 👎 for Santa Anita, the once great race place. Sadly the times.
Southern Cal racing has been in a deep decline for well over ten years now. Short fields, maiden races during weekdays pretty much fill the card. Lack of attendance, like Belmont park, make the track look empty. They don’t run if the forecast calls for rain. It’s no longer a question if SA will close its doors one day; it’s a matter of when. Before they do get up at dawn and go to Clocker’s Corner. It’s a pretty cool experience.
No shame in running top 3. Grade1 Black type for future breeding. Breeding is looking 10 years down the road, and stocking Black ⚫️ Type mares. Remember these horses, some may give birth to a KY Derby winner.
She is going to get crushed by the boys and this race is the proof. She has been beating up on a mediocre 3YO filly class including fillies like Leslie's Rose and Candied. Neither of those fillies would even remotely belong versus, Dornoch, Fierceness or SL and Thorpedo Anna is the same. She'll get a taste of reality on Travers day. 🙂
The results of this race are not surprising and they are good evidence of why Thorpedo Anna is going to get throttled by the boys in the Travers. The 3YO filly class is just not that good, and Candied could not even beat this mediocre field. Thorpedo Anna would not only have to run a career best race to win the Travers, but she would also need Dornoch, Fierceness and Sierra Leone ALL to not bring their A games for her to even have a shot at winning. Any of those horses best races or near their best races beats Thorpedo Anna's best race to date. That's just reality!
Anna would have beaten this field by five lengths. She has absolutely nothing to prove in her own division - winning the Alabama would not have added a dime to her value at retirement. The goal of horse racing should be to field the best competitions possible. Thorpedo Anna going in the Travers makes both the Alabama and Travers more interesting races. And you can portray Dornoch and Sierra Leone as world beaters all you want, but she fits in that field. Might not end up in the winner's circle, but she's done more than enough to earn the shot.
Best race I've seen in recent memory. What great display of athleticism and just sheer grit.. Hat tipped.

Great call
What a raceonly at the spa
Powersqueeze was being riding hard throughout that race and she still had alot left to finish off strong.
Candied hot screwed
Obviously lost momentum when bumped
I'm glad Candied lost Not a fan
Nonsense, moved too early and too far out. That ride won't be on Franco's reel.
1/4-23.31
1/2-47.06
3/4-1:11.92
Mile-1:37.64
Finish-2:04.35
Each successive quarter was slower. Final time was embarrassing.

@@coleslack8826 She may or may not win but putting her in the Travers made both races better for the fans.
@karmab4391 the travers without her would be great. Her numbers don't add up.
Everyone saids Anna has no chance which is why imma hammer her at the totes next week lol

The board don’t lie ,especially Saratoga, 9 to 5 let you know the sharp guys weren’t confident

Indeed,a good one.The torpedo saved for Travers. If entered here that would of been good one.
