It was the driest fall in years here in southeast Michigan. We are still technically in a drought. Mother nature will average us out eventually, Like watching the White combines and the White/Oliver tractors in action. My dad had an Oliver 1850 with the perkins diesel. His white 8700 had the same engine. That was the selling point for him. Have a good late fall and winter season Ross. Good video.
Happy Thanksgiving to your entire family. Sometimes one has to be stubborn to get the harvest buttoned up. I always wish you the best when attempting to complete your tasks.
Sadness acres spreading the love! I think you guys are almost as unlucky as me and that’s saying something. Happy Thanksgiving Mr. Ross and Mr. Jason!! Forge on be in touch!
Nice video, seeing the three of you together. Too bad about your cousin's coupler behind the engine. I suppose that means pulling the engine to replace the coupler.
Pickers and green combine videos coming is good news. Sorry to see the ole White in limping mode. I'd agree to driving that across the field is the safest solution. I'd rather work on equipment in the middle of the field than the side of the road. That kind of thing makes you really want pull-behind-combines instead of self-propelled. You can swap out tractors on pull-behind picker. Even mounted pickers can be a problem. My father picked with a New Idea two-row on his Oliver 880 and it broke the new helical gear sets (upgraded from 88 straight gears for quieter running). That tractor lives in the shed from 1977 when it broke to today my brother has it. By the time my father got the drivetrain reasssembled, the engine had froze up one cylinder sitting. So the engine sits cross-wise of the frame twelve years after he passed. Project my brother and I am working on.
I love Perkins engines but it seems like all of the 354 engines roll a lot of smoke. And honestly with only 110 or so horsepower they can be a little underpowered while in mud or climbing a hill. It's a darn shame the thing broke. Hope he gets it fixed soon. Happy Thanksgiving.
I’m only a few minutes into the video and already I don’t blame you for not dragging the picker out. Too wet to haul wagons around the field. We are near drowning in mud up here in Ontario. Nobody has picked corn here for over a week and plenty still standing.
Good video ross it looks like your on the struggle bus again i know how it fellas at least your not the only on happy Thanksgiving to you and your family my name is Victor from the upstate of South Carolina.
Ross, correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't CIH have a similar issue with some of their combines? I swore they came out with a fix rather quickly. A heavier shaft or coupler... I can't remember, been too many years ago. Did White come out with a fix for this? If they didn't, what a shame. Great video, cheers :)
😊😊 HI ROSS I see 👀 😊 2 day some people are just starting 2 cut corn 🌽 😊 yep late again this year just like it was last year and I talked 2 a fellow just the other day and alot of people still haven't cut soy beans yet either and if U look out across the field and if already white the soy beans have already fell out on the ground then it will be no use in cutting them because they will be on the ground 😮😮 and U still won't get nothing a lost 😮😮 OMG 11 27 2O24

How come you get to have all the fun?
Looks like he bought a boat anchor.
I take it that the w on the white head is for wide? Do you commonly plant wide rowing in your area?
