Gordon visits Applegate, Oregon, to try to rescue the failing Applegate River Lodge. Despite being over a million dollars in debt, the Applegate’s owner, Richard Davis, is more interested in smoking cannabis in his “Butt Hut” than he is in fixing the problems of this family-built inn.
Richard’s sons Duke and Dusty are too busy fighting each other to notice the ever-increasing debt, leaving their mother, Joanna with the entire burden of the inn’s finances resting on her shoulders.
Can Gordon turn this family around before the hotel and the family legacy are destroyed? And how will he react to a room full of dancing mushrooms and a dog that swims through the air?

I can imagine that this episode might have helped attract the right crowd of people to the hotel as well. I know a lot of people that would love a hotel in nature with a stoner attitude. Looks like a great place for neo hippies to hang out

I wish this show was still on. Gordon did a lot of good for business owners and families.
It also provides entertainment so it pretty much helps everyone and then it also helps some people to not get to the same situation because they would've seen it and learned from it.
I think the reason why he stopped this and kitchen nightmares is because too many would go back to their old ways as soon as he left
Most of the people he helped went back to their old ways . Makes sense in a way cause you can't change people with lack of disple and people skills to run a restaurant in the long run but you can hire proper people who can but something tells me that their ego won't allow that

Not really, if you look at the updates MOST of the places go back to their bad habits. Honestly for places to get as bad as the ones on the show, it doesn't get fixed by a pep talk and a makeover. Most of the people are very deeply broken and need years of therapy which is not even guaranteed success.

Insane how dad just smoked his brain away, the boys just profited together with their girls, while their mom, who is such a humble person, struggled financially, psychologically and got screwed by everybody! Looks like the place is still open with steady 3,5-4/5 reviews. According to some of the reviews, it still smells of pot. Others seem to be thoroughly pleased with it. Aparently it's an extremely laid back place, so if you're expecting fast service and a pulsing environment, it's not a place for you.

Amazing people, wonderful and incredible mother , i think they just don't know how lucky they are to be and work together in this dream place ..And to be honest i can also understand the father i just hope he understood that not everybody is like him and that there's a time for business and please customers and a time for party with his friends hippie family ..Also i hope the 2 sons will realise how lucky they are and do what it takes to make this place a profitable business and i think it means listen to the their mother and sometimes put limits to their wonderful father ..It is absolutely not jealousy but when i see that some of us don't have family they are totaly missing and than look a mother and a father doing things like that for their son, i'm just speechless , i just think it is very beautiful
