The best tutorial for long layers cut! The other ones are so complicated but this one shows you properly the direction you need to cut the hair! Thanks! :)
Wow this is exactly what I want done with my hair and now I know what to tell the person that will be cutting it this week. Thank you for this video. Nice Job. 'Christy
Thank you so much for this video! I'm just finishing Cosmo school & your video was so helpful in finding a technique for long layers that works for me!
Pleeease upload more videos! I love your tutorials! I love that you take the time to make sure you don't cut past your guide, and keep all of your sections so neat. Better teacher than mine were lol.
Great tutorial. It always amazes me to watch wet cutters. I am Sahag trained and have had a mass training in Vidal. However my mind works for sculpting and balance. So it was nice to watch this.
love your friend cuts are as much please please put more videos with other cuts .... from the classic to the whimsical and asymmetric ..... Thank continuation of good work ..... Hugs from Portugal-Azores island of Terceira
This was a cut I do regularly yet I still learned a few things. I generally cut symmetrically and if they dedicate their part I will chip off some of the longer hair between the part and the middle guide. Thanks for the upload.
YES!! I was yelling about the same thing. I'm a hairstylist, you always cut top to bottom.... shortest to longest, guide to bottom. This guy completely switched position from one half to the other, ridiculous. I agree, COME ON MAN!
I loved the haircut, superb! I would love to get mine cut like this but it's hard to find a great stylist such as you. My hair is almost to my knees. How long of a layered cut would you say is possible?
If your guide is present it w be even. I've learned several approaches to cutting (presumably like you). From Sassoon, Toni&Guy, TIGI, Structure in Motion, Tricosymmetrics, etc.....all great and unique. Find what works for you and go with it. There are MANY ways to skin a cat. Good hair to you.
Hey Ren Shaw, Thank you so much for the tutorial!! I am in Cosmetology right now, but I feel like I have not learned much. But watching your videos are so much helpful and I am actually learned something. Is there anyway you post different types of hair cutting? Please and Thank you so much.
Btw, I had similar haircut done at Toni&Guy Academy where they take sections up in million layers and it looks amazing, do you know what's the name of the technique by any chance?
By the way if a left handed stylist takes the same approach this jack does, they would be cutting from top guide to bottom guide on the right side of the head creating a softer layer because of working from top to bottom and the law of gravity.. and again if they did the same approach but held the shears in their left
@smallboobs - nup, this is pretty much the exact long transient layer haircut from the toni&guy foundation book. (not that there is anything wrong with that btw)
So if a left handed stylist goes in with the same approach, and does it presumably backwards how will it be any better? I can't stand when left handers bitch and complain about things being taught in right hand. End of the day it doesn't make a difference. I used to train with a lot of left handed stylist who would always bitch and complain about being taught by someone right handed because it's "not the same" but sorry, that's bullshit. Excellent video :)
I disagree. As a dry cutter our minds are open to the fact that sometimes there needs to be a shorter or longer piece somewhere to create an ultimate balance. Humans are not symmetrical therefore at times trying to establish "evenness" may not be the best way to go. Everyone has a "bigger" side and a "smaller" side. Keep that in mind.
Finally! A professional, precise haircut on TH-cam! I have watched some that are just frightening! Excellent! (I love your emerald shears!)

Btw, I had similar haircut done at Toni&Guy Academy where they take sections up in million layers and it looks amazing, do you know what's the name of the technique by any chance?
