I have sat in wonder many times watching your videos, you and Steffan Pahlow are my two favourtie proper watch channels. This on though, you have managed to make good a repair to where it looks like a well care for original, not shiny new and no false patina but honest. Thank you so much for an excellent video
Your attention to detail is the sign of a true Great clockmaker. It’s fabulous to watch you working and sympathetically restoring these very old clocks. Thank you so much for sharing 👏.
I have a calibrated eyeball at well. 😉 Use it mostly for determining if something well fit in the space available but sometimes for making a replacement part. Nicely done!
*Very interesting Tommy. I had no idea that much precision hand and lathe work would be required for what appeared at first to be a simple piece needing a simple repair ? How are we doing with the Great GrandFather Musical Striking and playing Clock project ? I sure would like to see the rest of the work required to bring this wonderful clock back to life.*

Fully agree!
Great job!
Another nice job I like the sound of your clock ticking away in the background nice video.

Excellent work! I've just realised I haven't seen a video from you for ages! I hope all is well.
A master woodworker as well.
Huge work 🖖
Nice!
Very fine work Tommy.
Lovely work again Tommy.
Love it 😎
Your skills are amazing!!!
Brilliant repair. That key has certainly seen some service.
I find a knife edge graver nice to use as a parting tool on such jobs
Well calibrated eyeballs, indeed.

11:16. That’s interesting!!
Lovely work. What thread did you chose for the screw? B.A.?

There is a video on that in the pipeline, it's not been forgotten don't worry.
@@TommyJobson Great ! I look forward to seeing the continuation of your intriguing work on that fascinating project.
The only thing I would do different would be to antique the brass and the new screw (gun blue). Really nice repair.
Bonus indeed. 👍
I'm thinking every bushing could be replaced by two small roller wheels that supported the arbors.
Very nice but i detect two fine grooves on the largest OD
What do you think?
JIM ❤
Tommy, do you ever apply an aged-looking patina to other brass parts like the one you had to add to keep the new knob in place?
Bit of a shame to destroy that rosewood leg
The rest of it was long gone! It will make many nice bits and bobs as it lives on.
