    No matter how many brochures I peruse, your reviews give me 100x the information in only 15 minutes.
    In the market for a boat in this size range and honestly didn't even consider the Magellano series but they have done a very impressive job at a nice price. Engine room looks snug but I guess OK and the crew cabin would be better used for storage/dive tanks/dive compressor or more equipment like watermaker equipment. Very impressed with this boat for Bahamas/Caribbean, especially since the 20 knot speed can get you out of trouble when necessary.

    Azimut - rename this the "Magician's Hat" - something small filled with huge surprises. A FULL LOBBY on the cabin deck WITH washer/dryer. FOUR cabins. 53 FEET. And "crew cabin" (a place to stuff a teenager). There are 70' yachts with fewer accommodations (perspective people, please). I've watched the video twice, with note pad and pencil the second time. I got to TEN major features and stopped, as I had only reached the Cabin Deck. WOW. And UNDER 900k? Azimut, I don't know how you did it - but I want one.
    Thank you for sharing...

      You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't think I have seen any other boat in this class size with as many features. I am a big fan of the Azimut 55 Fly but this is a masterpiece.

      I'm a bit surprised to see that they didn't putt any sound insulation in the engine room. Seems like a big design or construction flaw to me, especially on a trawler where your going to be traveling for long hours. Ok its "cheap" for a boat this size but you would want at least some kind of comfort.

    Crew cabin seems a bit of a waste, could easily be a storage area / garage with rear entry which would give option to a rear sun pad. Very tidy boat, smaller cabins but not bad.

    Whilst most of my boating is on a RIB on the Solent, I’m currently away visiting wife’s family in Asunción, Paraguay. My brother-in- law’s boss kindly took us out for an afternoon on her Magellano 53 up the Rio Paraguay. My wife, who’s never been on a motor yacht before was extremely surprised that I knew where everything was and gave her a tour. I didn’t let her into my secret of being an Aquaholic subscriber :-) Thanks Nick!

    • @pflaffik
      @pflaffik 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maurizio found 7.3 knots to be most efficient, with 5.6 lph per engine iirc, a total consumption of 1.6 liters per nm. Thats a range of 2000nm. Or in practical terms: 1 month vacation averaging 3 hours per day will consume 1000 liters, thats less than a third of its fuel capacity. Less than 60 Euro per day in fuel, thats awesome.

      So long as they're liveaboard-capable, they're pretty much feasible. Most people who own any kind of home on land can get enough startup money to put into one of those boats from selling it, and then finance the rest. So long as you can afford both the maintenance and the loan payments on what you earn while you're living on board, you're okay (that's not necessarily easy, of course, but it's still possible for a lot of ordinary people).

    I don't know much about yachts to be honest, however I can see what terrific value (relatively speaking) this boat offers. Externally it looks amazing and internally it is so well layed out that it has many features much bigger vessls don't have. The cockpit is to die for as is the fly bridge and front deck, the kitchen although small just works, that hallway area below deck is positively airy, the cabins are beautiful. I could imagine some bigger and more expensive boat owners looking over at it with envy. Most people would never need anything more than this. Wonderful boat wonderful video. Thanks Nick 👍

  • @Kennethah81
    @Kennethah81 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I really like these "fast trawlers". They got most (if not all) of the comfort and sea keeping of a traditional trawler, but can go a bit faster when needed. I particularly like the layout of this one. When I saw that huge aft cockpit I assumed it was going to be cramped inside, but by putting the galley aft they have managed to get a nice and comfortable looking interior as well.
    The only negative I can think of is that the mullion next to the lower helm position seems to steal a bit too much of the view to starboard for my liking, and I´d really like a secound nav-screen on a boat of this size and type, but apart from that I think this thing looks pretty much perfect for me (ignoring anything related to money of course! :) )

    Other than the human trafficking cell, I mean crew cabin, this is a great looking boat. I would rather have that area be incorporated into the master cabin. If you had a Captain for a day putting him in that optional cabin seems much more humane. He's driving your boat, you want him somewhat happy... Good Job Nick!

    Fairly impressive to have a 4 cabin layout in 53 foot albeit with a few caveats. Or 5 cabins if you could the rear. And very usable foredeck. Bigger windows in the side cabins would have helped a lot though. In all cabins, really. Makes such a big difference, even if you have to use armored glass for big waves.

    Great tour as always thanks. I think they have compromised on the master cabin by putting the en suit at the side rather than having the actual cabin full beam. This was probably due to having the extra cabin/storage area which might had been otherwise used for the en suit for the master which is a comprise worth having.

    Another nice small spaces yacht which also ticks all the boxes ,but as said below i would rather have the cabin at the back turned into a storage area where it lifts up at the back of the yacht instead of having to take the cushions off and climb down to it ,or a added to the master cabin for more room .

      It’s Azimut at the basement of the brand. Keep in mind the advertised price, isn’t final price. You’ve got taxes and registration. You’ve got duty. You’ve got delivery fees and shipping. You’ve got insurance and storage/moorage. If you cannot operate, you’ve got to hire a captain. That’s $55,000/year for the size of vessel.

      @@westonbadke5434 Ok, but that's the question! How much it cost total! 880.000 + 100.000 ? 200.000 ?

      I assume nobody here has bought a boat... I hope you all realize that you don't buy a boat for the asking price. The buyer would probably spend around 800k-750k for this.

      Yea seems like a human trafficking or smuggling trap door. With a boat this size I don't think you need a captain/crew unless it's for educational purposes just to show you how to operate it yourself. That's probably what I would need a crew for in the beginning. But I would let them sleep in one of the guess cabin tho. But for under 1 million you do get a lot for the money. This would be perfect for a single family trip to the Bahamas 🇧🇸 once you learn how to operate it. Wish there were more space for tenders unless you can get close enough to shore that's shallow enough. I love the range of this boat the most and it's pretty spacious and comfortable for a single family. I would do coastal cruises up and down Florida and hit the Bahamas pretty often. That fact that you can do multiple trips to the Bahamas without refilling the fuel tanks is awesome for the money.

  • @chickenchuggets6395

    The crew cabin is not the worst I’ve seen especially with a 53 foot boat with already 4 cabins but it could be a bit better if the engineering space wasn’t as big it would definitely clear some space for the captain
