Bradley didnt get voice training. He said he could always sing but he personally didnt think he was very good which is why he never intended to peruse a singing career ☺️

True to an extent.
Actually, Bradley did get vocal training, but not to be able to sing because, as you said, he could always sing, but to have that deep and grungy voice that every previous A Star Is Born main male characters had.

Lady Gaga when she was 16 got a role in the broadway hit Rent. She has much education in the performance arts arena. It wasn’t that she couldn’t act she just couldn’t get her foot in the door. Her and Bradley cooper were not so far apart as far as acting. She had a role in American Horror Show on tv. Before she was signed with ACon she was doing performance arts on the New York screen. She made the clothes she was to wear for her videos and performances in her little New York apartment before she was discovered. The character in the movie was unsure of herself and was used to being rejected. Lady Gaga says that was not her. That she was always confident in her talents. Bradley cooper was the one who had to come up to her level. People said he did this with one year of lessons. Not true. He has said that he planned the movie for four years and that’s when he started taking voice and guitar lessons.
