They're my current favorite band. I'm going to see them April 16.
Awesome! I missed them when they played NYC last month. Enjoy! ✌🏻
The Sundays are one of my favorite bands of the 90's, so glad you shared them. Their Smiths and Cocteau Twins mix is terrific to my ears. Their vinyl is tough to find now, particularly their original pressings. Bridget Calls Me Baby definitely is on my list to check out, thank you.
I only have the debut Sundays as a UK OG. Bought the others originally on cd and the recent represses on vinyl. ✌🏻
Thanks for the recommendation Arnaldo! Ordered the record two days ago after seeing this. Listening on TH-cam, I thought they were awesome! Especially the first track. I really dig the Orbison crooning over the eighties meets modern sounding band. They are definitely on to something.
Cheers, Jon
Jon, glad you liked it! Enjoy! I’m looking forward to a full length later this year. ✌🏻
Hi Arnaldo, thanks for sharing as they are totally new to me. I’ve just given the EP a listen. It’s Roy Orbison sings Morrissey 😂. I like it a lot! Andy
You’re welcome. Glad you like them! ✌🏻
Hey Arnaldo, I didnt know where to post this but if you are looking for a great sounding version of the -2U/-1U, find the French 70’s version that has the same matrices.
Playing the Bridgette Calls Me Baby after the video. Sounds like a winner😎👍🏻
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll start searching! John you can always message me on IG or Facebook.
Just streamed 'Impressively Average' (wow) - I could hear Killers, Smiths, OMD, Strokes influences and maybe more generally (?) punk, 50s crooner, surf...cannot really reduce them, ty for sharing these artists.
Yes, Killers are another band that came to mind. But then again, who were they inspired by?😀
@@fidelios_frequency I would say more generally new order and Duran Duran. Their name came from a fictitious band in a new order video.
I absolutely love The Sundays! Thanks for the recommendation and will check out this album.
Hope you enjoy it! Sounds more like The Smiths though 😉
Thanks, Arnaldo. Listening to the first track got me thinking about the song “In Gunnersbury Park” by the Hit Parade. Not so similar sonically but the mood rhymes. Great lyrics too: “…but they took you away, with your TOEFL forms and your t-shirts…”. Thanks for introducing me to BCMB. Cheers!
Thanks for suggesting Hit Parade. I listened to the song and I can hear some of the similarities you picked up on. Take care Russell ✌🏻
Will check it out! Once you mentioned “Smiths influence” I knew you liked them 😁
Hope you like them! ✌🏻
In England, The Sundays lead track was their debut single “Can’t be sure”
I’d also say, although The Smiths influence is there, they sound more like Morrissey’s solo music.
Love this band. Love the album. A pleasure to see them in a very small venue recently.... I do not often get Vinyl but needed to get the pink one! Is it just me or is the Vinyl not quite as ummm ehhh Tape Saturated and warm like old Vinyl seems to be. I have limited experience... Like a mixing issue? Or is this how the standard is now? Maybe too clean and pristine?
Actually this release on vinyl doesn’t sound as compressed as most modern day rock records. Glad you like them. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
