a poorly written rip off of jason. disney takes concepts from legends and does them poorly because they hire hack writers who dont understand the property, its themes, and characters.
@crystalbluepartain3434 Hit the nail on the head. I'm so tired of people blaming fans for stupid shit that Corporations, and bought out studios do. How do we live in a day and age where people will literally bitch at people for being unsatisfied with a shitty product that was once good?
Not quite. Jaycen Solo pursued the Force based on the old systems, because the Prophecy of Mortis/The Chosen One wasn't a thing yet. Kylo does pursue the magic of the Sith, but it's not quite what it was during the Imbalance and Rule of Two, and he has a couple of new spells instead (Stasis, Sleep, Pry Mind). But eventually he realizes that he can't compete with Rey, she is the bigger fish that will destroy him, and maybe because she isn't trying to follow a broken pattern. And he thinks the Emperor's power is the only thing left, that might still save him. But there is that "Magic Kiss" spell, we don't really know what does, but it seemed to focus Finn's Force affinity, to make him better with his Battlecry spell.
@@tn420animations9 Those books were always meant to be the placeholders if George ever decided to do the sequels. The cannon has always been, books and comics, tv and video games, then the movies at the top.
I agree with this video, however you can’t blame the fans for dogshit writing. We all saw their low iq before last movie and we all saw the agenda being driven. So what do you expect when the fanbase goes to shit when you have a 2 movies that directly contradict eachother before the third act of the sequels. It’s tragic, not the fans fault.
I don't mind Luke drying, what I hate is that they assassinated his character. Alien animal boobs green milk sloping down the beard, throw the lightsaber away, mope about like a whiny loser, don't take accountability for your actions, try to assassinate a kid for no reason, the most OPTIMISTIC person in the galaxy reduced to a snivvling depressed scrub. Hel, I don't even mind some of the things they did to Luke, but they did them so poorly. 1. Luke lost his optimism? Make it so that galaxtic politics wore him down or something. 2. Luke slupin on alien animal titty milk? Okay, don't go that far, but make him kinda like Yoda if necessary. A little eccentric, but not a moron. 3. Throwing the lightsaber away? Luke could have thrown it away to symbolize that the past shouldn't weight you down as an unexpected action Rey wouldn't have anticipated. But they made him throw it away in disgust instead. 4. Luke did basically NOTHING. He could have done at least SOMETHING. Make a contingency here, a plan there, etc... 5. He could accept that he's tired of the galaxy, but don't make him a loser because of it. 6. He NEVER should have tried to kill Rylo Ken, that's just NOT his character. Did he learn NOTHING from Vader?!?! MAYBE they could have explained it by like, Snoke or another darksider (not palpy) doing some kind of ritual to try and weaken the strongest Jedi in the galaxy in a gambit to get him to retreat from the galaxy so they can try to take over the new republic or something. 7. He became mega depresso for literally no reason. It's dumb.
16:23 "awesome fight scene"😐gang the red guards literally attack each other or spin and fall back for no reason..... One of the worst fight scenes in cinema
correct. Looked beautiful from a cinematic glance. The color and contrast. Then you start to notice that the they are all doing a dance on stage choreographed by some amateur. Most unrealistic fight scene in Star wars history.
The orignal script from what I've heard for Rise of Skywalker would've kept Kylo as the main villain, and Palpatine would've only appeared in a hologram record message.Finn supposed to have more focus, leading all these ex-troopers. So we could've got 3 separate groups. Now I think what could've been cool too, if General Hux would've raised his own little army to go against Kylo, who, as you also mentioned, wanted to do his own thing, while Hux pretty much wanted to repeat the whole empire thing. I think for the ending, I would've done somehting like, Anakin's ghost appearing, and convinces Kylo to stop, or maybe he could've appeared multiple times, so it doesn't come off as random.I still don't know how they could've explained the empire returning, or Kylo turning evil, or Luke just abandoning everyone. I saw videos about the old books, and some had these insectoid beings with psionic powers or something, and they came from a different galaxy, and every faction, including the empire united against them I think, so maybe they could've done something like that.Maybe they worked from the shadows to cause chaos so these characters would've killed each other, so that when they'd arrive, they'd have an easier job.Or I dunno.
(17:10) Brother I hate to be "that star wars guy" but this point is irrelevant. The whole "join men, fuck the sith." Has already been done like three times in the original six films way better. Count Dooku asked Obiwan, Anakin asked Padme, and Vader Asked Luke. It's not original at all, and it's not subverting anything. Kilo is STILL trying desperately to be Vader and failing.
true, it would be fun to see what happens when a jedi actually accepts (out of their own free will, not manipulated like Anakin) and the goal isn't to rule the galaxy
@Cinemavigilante That's how 90% of turning to the dark side works. The dark side is literally a metaphor for the nature of Evil, balance in the force isn't 50 light 50 dark. That's some retarded Disney invention. Balance is the absence of evil. Peace in the galaxy. Most people are not born evil. As most sith and Darksiders do not actually start out evil like Palpatine did. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be a prick, but I'm so tired of people making these arguments. But I do appreciate you understanding how on a basic movie making level these movies suck.
I don't feel like that's a reasonable comparison. We know Dooku became Sith, even though he didn't want to, so Obi-Wan was right in not following him. Padmé was a Senator for a recovering system, she wasn't a powerhouse in any sense, so what is she supposed to join Anakin in? Vader specifically said: "You. Dark Side. Emperor. Killed." And Luke said Nuh uh, and Vader died of Big Sad, like his wife. Kylo said: "Idk what the fck you are, but can you NOT murder me, please?"
@@CinemavigilanteThen I recommend playing StarWars: Knights of The Old Republic, you have a lot of agency and choices to make in the game and it's considered one of the best RPGs of all time.
Return of the Jedi is my favourite Star Wars film, but i definitely cannot discount the fact that it is an excellent summation of the two prior films work. Dying Darth Vader to Luke: "Let me look at you, with my own eyes" Man chokes me up everytime. Its so much more than a literal statement, its a metaphor for repealing all of his (Vader's) ideologies.
Nice to hear a take from someone who's not steeped in the lore. However, the biggest problem with Revenge of the Sith is the turn. Anakin doesn't kill younglings and expect a pregnant Padme to be like "we need milk." 🤷
I see where you're coming from and it's so interesting to hear the perspective of a non-fan but I think that also hampers you a little *because* you're not a part of the fan-base and that community of people that love the lore. One of the major issues that fans had with the Disney sequels is that they took 30 years of continuity (novels, comic books, video games, etc.) and threw it all away in order to make their own storylines, but then turned around and re-hashed concepts from the old canon anyway (and terribly). It wasn't the fact that there were new central characters or story-lines but the actual disdain for the property and its fan-base. There was all of this behind-the-scenes drama that I won't go into but the basic jist is that Kathleen Kennedy (the head of Lucasfilm) and other creatives like J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson had no love for the franchise and wanted to do their own thing with it rather than respecting the lore or the universe that George Lucas created. Actually, a lot of the issues that you had with the sequel trilogy are sentiments that the fans share: Rey being a stale Mary Sue, Finn's wasted potential, Poe being annoying, bringing Palpatine back and undoing the ending to the original trilogy, etc. However, I strongly disagree with your statement of it being the fans' fault. The studio heads, executives, and directors either went with the safe route and remade the original trilogy or included ideas that were so radically different to what makes Star Wars what it is. When the fans (rightfully) pointed out their bad decisions, the higher-ups decided to give the fans what they *thought* they wanted in order to try and save face. Yes, the prequels were flawed but at least it was clear that George Lucas and everyone involved made it with passion and a desire to entertain people. Disney just wanted to make money and both Abrams and Johnson tried to put their own spin on a franchise that neither of them were passionate about in the first place (Johnson especially when he made "The Last Jedi" and said that he didn't care if he upset the fans as long as he was getting a reaction). Sorry about the long post. I am a big Star Wars fan (original trilogy *and* prequels) and I am also a fan of your channel and I love hearing your opinion on different films and franchises. You rock!
I loved how you detailed the difference between kylo and Rey, how much training they had up to the force awakens finale and her turning into a pro. She fights on the level of empire Luke except Luke has 4 years of lightsaber handling.
I too am a rotj apologist I understand you! also, as an insane sw fan that knows a lot of the lore, I was nodding when you said that mando s2 lost you because it's cameos the season. it's supposedly made for lore people like me, but I'm a story and characters enjoyer first and a lore obsessed fan second, and that season's story sucks and they're trying to patch it up with cameos so we don't notice. I actually hate how inaccessible the sw shows are outside of a few exceptions, cause if you make shows just for the lore's sake no one will gaf, since most lore enthusiasts like it because it's attached to an interesting story
The Nooooo didn't ruin it like bro he just put on a voice modulator and machine body. He probably screamed and the machine just got noooo from it. It's haunting cause it's him wailing the loss of his love and his body his way of life
Obviously I have disagreement but I really respect you putting this out here. Barely anyone hasn't seen these movies so it's super cool hearing a fresh perspective, great job and very nice editing!
JJ Abrams is a fraud aswell he was a executive producer on TLJ which means that he approved what Rian Johnson planned Also Abrams set the trilogy up for failure by not having any plan and playing he's mystery box game
Vader was legit playing with Luke in that fight scene. He already knew who Luke was. But Vader being Vader he didn't hold back to much by the end. Literally fighting Luke one handed. Lvl 1 Jedi Vs Lvl 20 Sith Lord.
Correction. Samuel L Jackson was eager to have a lightsaber. Then Lucas asked him what color he wanted. Samuel L Jackson asked why there are no purple lightsabers. Lucas explained but then asked if Samuel wanted a purple lightsaber, and he said yes. So no Chad moment.
Star Trek began the long arduous task of undoing the major mistakes that it inflicted onto itself by decannonizing Star Trek Discovery from the Original Series’s timeline, so perhaps there’s hope that Disney might do the same with the Sequel trilogy… However, due to much of the problems associated with Disney Star Wars stemming from the higher ups at Lucasfilm (aka Ego) seem to be in the way of any sort of long term reconciliation between the fans and the IP as a whole.
10:31 we do agree with you more than you think in fact 14:21 no no we agree she is a Mary Sue, noone even if they have the best genes, needs training to be able to fight properly. Like Luke is the son of the chosen one and he needed 3 movies worth of training to be a decent jedi. 19:11 no that in fact was the problem and not his death by itself. That and his bad characterisation throughout the movie
As someone who is a huge Star Wars fan, I highly agree with you. Even tho I will admit Episode 1 and 2 aren’t that great of movies, I personally still love them because they still have that George Lucas feel to it. And surprisingly I also Agree with you about the Disney Movies. I feel like The Force Awakens should have ended with Kylo Ren winning, and the 2nd movie be about Rey and Fin looking for Luke Skywalker, and the Three of them go after Snoke and Kylo. They could have also kept the same ending where Snoke kills Luke and Snoke tell Kylo to finish Rey, but instead, Kylo kills Snoke, then we get that “join me line” etc. And the 3rd movie Would be able Rey, Finn, and a small group of others going after Kylo and his Knights of Ren Cult members
My only problem with 17:30 is that unfortunately we NEVER get to hear from Kylo what his actual aspirations are outside of wanting to be the same as his grandad. he has “depth” but ultimately it’s as deep as him just wanting a girlfriend while ruling the galaxy, which is essentially what anakin wanted with Padme. So it’s more of the same thing, but imo, delivered in a worse way. At least with Anakin we had a bit of build up and could assume what he wanted to turn the galaxy into, albeit from a darker origin Idk what Kylos struggles were outside of him being pulled towards the light and killing his dad,(amongst likely other people he’s killed). He just doesn’t seem like a well put together antagonist turned good guy But ironically he is the most layered character out of all of the new bunch and that’s sayin somethin lol
nah man the originals are classic you gotta rewatch em in a different way cuz those movies were wholesome as hell and the story had heart idk how to explain it fr theyre good movies tho especially ep5 and 6
I disagree with the point that it's the fans' fault. In my experience, the vast majority of other star wars fans aren't focused on the sequels being different than the older movies. It's that they bastardized and disrespected the lessons and character arcs that those characters went through to make them who they are. I knew it was a good possibility that Luke was going to die when they started making the sequels. My hope was that they would do his character justice. Not only did they not do his death justice, but they butchered his character entirely from the start. Luke skywalker was the didnt back down or give in to the dark side. He was the only one that had the conviction and compassion enough to finally bring Anakin back to the light, despite all the pain, manipulation, and suffering brought on his own actions and that of Palpatine's influence. And yet we're supposed to believe that the same Luke Skywalker would not only run away from the fight for peace, but now be so weak to impulse that he'd raise his lightsaber to his own nephew??? This is the man that defied all in order to stick by his father's side til the end, even if it meant laying down his weapon and being at the mercy of Sidious. And now he's in a much kess intense situation, and suddenly cant handle a misguided fear about Ben? Ridiculous. The sequels didnt need to be just like the original or prequel trilogies. They just needed to respect them and build upon them into new territory based on how these characters and new one's would continue to grow after all their experiences and encounters with new threats. Disney has slapped us in the face with how little they care about the franchise. Besides that though, a lot of you conceptions of the films with super spot on. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite star wars film, personally, so it's nice to hear somebody not hating on it yet again lol. I enjoyed episode 1 and 2 also, but I completely understand the criticisms. The dialogue can definitely be clunky
That’s exactly why I like The Last Jedi. Kylo whole rejection of the sith and Jedi had the potential to finally breathe new life into the franchise but….you know
I was a Star Wars/Aliens/Predator/AVP/Terminator/Horror/Transformers fan as a kid. Lord of the Rings is overrated and boring tbh. I respect ur honest takes and i got some things to respond with and to also Order 69 lmao. I was a Star Wars Fan since four and probably even earlier than that so I’ve been a fan for a good 20 years or more. I say probably earlier than that because apparently my dad held me as a baby watching The Phantom Menace. I’ve seen all the Star Wars films in theaters besides clone wars tv movie and og trilogy. The OG trilogy is very good and from what I remember I have no comments about what u said about it besides the final act saber battle was cool for Return of the Jedi but Empire Strikes Back had a better choreographed fight. The saber battle in that film is like baseball bats slapping each other in very predictable and mediocre ways. The Phantom Menace is a good film imo. Yes, George isn’t the best with character dialogue and he has mentioned in the past he has trouble writing he works best when he has help with it. George is more interested in telling a mythos and using the pictures to tell the story as he’s said in the past the dialogue is background noise for him. I don’t think the dialogue is as bad as everyone thinks tho. The politics in that film might have gotten out of hand but Star Wars is my number one franchise for me so I can’t really see Phantom Menace without it it’s ingrained into my brain. Attack of the Clones, fun fact Natalia Portman and Hayden Christensen actually dated irl so they definitely had chemistry regardless if people saw it on screen. I actually think the way Anakin was done here was done well and I’d argue that even if the dialogue was corny to people. Anakin was young boy taken away from real life into the Jedi academy for 10 years of course he’s not going to know how to talk to the ladies and is going to be overdramatic and over romantic for Padme. I think the dialogue here shown perfectly demonstrates his eagerness to wanna be with Padme and how much he cares for her. Padme is surprised and taken back how much he loves and cares about her even though he hasn’t seen her at all. She’s attractive to him instantly, that line, “my goodness Ani you’ve grown”. This line cleverly shows how shocked she is and reveals to us she’s kinda crushing on Anakin. I could analyze every line and defend it but I’m already gonna be texting a paragraph so I won’t. Basically, Anakin has the mentality of a child when talking to a woman he’s deeply in love with and Padme is slowly falling for how much he cares for him and how much a awesome person he is. She even starts laughing and flirting with him back like we see in Naboo even as much as so to give him a kiss. There’s actually deleted scenes of her showing him to her family, her mom and dad included and we get more insight into how she feels about Anakin and her family can see it as well. Okay about to be done with this tangent but one of the most beautiful scenes in my opinion showing her care for him is her not giving a fuck he slaughtered a tribe. Like wow, she really loves him that much she isn’t going to say a word. “To be angry, is to be human”, I think and people may not agree but I think that’s such a great representation of life when u really care or love someone you’d do anything for them. Now for Hayden, people like to dog on him say he can’t act in these movies and I disagree. Hayden might not be the finest actor of our generation but he can definitely act. Watch him in Looper and there’s a drama forgot what the movie is called but watch him more stuff he can act. In fact, Star Wars is his best role and no I’m not joking. People say he gives not emotion and he’s cheesy, guess what? He did that on purpose, he’s saying everything nonchalant just like Vader does. The way Hayden vocalizes Anakin is done as if he already has the mask on. Hayden is very stoic and less expressive with his vocals when saying his lines just like Vader. Think about when he’s talking to Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith. “This is the end for u my master”, and say it with Vader voice. On top of that there’s so many great scenes where Hayden and Ewan are bouncing off of each other showing each of there’s characters personalities. I think Hayden acted well in these films regardless if people liked him whiny or not he was supposed to be and Hayden delivered that way. He showed how Anakin was feeling and expressed it well. He did perfectly what George asked of him to. People really are just upset with George’s vision of Anakin. Now I get it people want Anakin to be more of a likable character and all that and in the Clone Wars Show we get more of that or the new tv show flashbacks of Anakin we get that. I will say we do get scenes like that in the films where Anakin are playing off of each other but everyone forgets about that when they’re dogging on his romantic scenes. Alright done talking about that, I think Hayden delivered and I find Anakin to be likable and don’t think it was done bad at all. There was actually more scenes of him and Obi-Wans relationship cut in Revenge of the Sith too, go check it out guys. Now the lightsaber fight in Revenge of the Sith u mentioned, Ik ur a level 1 Star Wars noob so let me just tell u, u just ranked one of the worst Star Wars fights against one of the greatest. These aren’t normal people, this is the Jedi at their PEAK. Not that their superhero’s but they’re pretty damn close. They’re like badass samurai that can fight like 50 people and one fatal mistake they’re done that’s how it is. That fight was fucking awesome, the music perfect. U get to see Hayden’s emotion and Ewans on screen and see it through out the fight. THIS IS CINEMA. I gotta disagree with u hard on there but still respect ur opinion. Now Sequels, now I’m like u even though I’m hardcore into Star Wars, I’m not a sheep I don’t think like everyone does which is why I respect ur channel so much. I feel like that’s what u give, I enjoy the sequels for what they are and Ik they make dog shit decisions but they came out in a time in my life where I could actually be old enough to go see them in the theaters and enjoy them. Force Awakens was good, pretty much got nothing to say what u said on it besides Oscar was great and Rey definitely shouldn’t have won. If they wanted to make that make sense, they should of had her steal Kylos tricks through her downloading his move set mentally through mind trick interrogation scene(still lame but makes more sense) or had her been this badass all long and had her memory wiped but when he looked in she remembered her skills subconsciously. This would have made waaaaay more sense and was my theory for a long time till the others came out but of course they didn’t do that shit. At the very least they could have had the floor split up before anyone could have won but whatever. Last Jedi, rose should have died hard agree😂 Annoying ass character, I don’t think Oscar was annoying but that purple haired girl was. Kylo is one of my favorite characters of all time so I agree with ur takes on his character. LEGACY CHARACTERS don’t have to die, they shouldn’t have killed Luke off or found a more respectful/better way to do it…. George never believed in that, Star Wars at the end of it is supposed to be a happy fairytale where the heroes win at last. Maybe not in the beginning but the ending for sure. George’s paraphrased words, on top of that they killed Luke’s character that wasn’t the only problem. That’s why people are PISSED. So don’t fucking blame us the fans Zaffy when they should have given more proper respect to the lore and characters. It’s their fucking faults they shit the bed for this franchise and got shit everywhere. Since ur not in the know, u know that red tatted Sith u like in Phantom Menace with the horns? Darth fucking Maul right? He was going to be the main Villain in George’s sequel scripts!! It was gonna be him and the badass sexy Twi’lek Darth Talon as his apprentice which u probably don’t know, LOOK HER UP. She and him were going to rule the underbelly of the galaxy with storm trooper terriosts and war lords over the rest of the galaxy. With Leia and Luke and their grandchildren trying to help restore the republic. It was going to reflect real life on how u win the war and now the societies and governments are destroyed and how do u recover/rebuild from that? Inspired by what happened to Germany after WW1/WW2 wars were over and what’s happened in the Middle East is what George was going for. Paul Duncan did an interview with George on this in 2019/2020 directly from the horses mouth. So no it isn’t our fucking faults, it’s never the fans faults for being passionate but the responsibility goes to the people at Disney that didn’t wanna respect Star Wars and his fucking vision 🎤 Done with my lil rant but ur wrong about that Zaffy. They shouldn’t have killed Legacy characters off like nothing. After that I pretty much got nothing else to say u hit everything else on the head. I’m tired of texting good video man as always.
2:40 this scene doesn't REALLY retcon the one from the og trilogy just cuz vader was still kinda new to the whole vader thing i didn't watch the show so idk how much time had passed since mustafar but from ep3 to ep4 was almost 30 yrs into vader
facts with the prequels tho i only ever liked episode 3 the transitions for all those movies were so goofy and the scenes were the length of an incredible hulk ps3 cutscene 🤦♂️
why is it significant? because kylo didn’t like snoke clearly, and you also aren’t looking at the rule of 2? so many with in star wars media choose to off their master for power. ep 7 is the only thing worth complaining ab
I guarantee, Star Wars fans werent just mad at the sequels cause of the characters! The issue was SOLELY AND FIRSTLY the writing. The problems with the characters was one thing but the the plot, story, lack of cohesion and true plan for the story is what upset people.
Bro I love your storytelling because it makes too much sense.after watching all the Star Wars drama,I got bored and went around watching other stuff (only on TH-cam. because TH-cam is honestly a better platform, for Creative content than anything Hollywood or even cable TV could never produce)and I saw old WWE story lines.the one I like the most was the Undertaker. so I thought, what if: the manifestation of the dark side itself (that's so happens to be similar to Vader but darker with Palpatine elements and other things) simply a figure that may or may not have worked with the Jedi that Luke created and worked with him for a good while facing a threat similar to the Xenomorphs (so we could have had four seasons versus very powerful alien-like beings that could have been like Superman or something)and then after they defeat these beings. The Undertaker so to speak ends up becoming different transitioning into the Lord of Darkness Using the dark side to a point that Luke asks him to maybe get a life that's better than what he's doing( something like that and) stop using the dark side stop using this power that Luke knows has play to the death of his father and others before him but this character (that I would like to be like the Undertaker) says "no.the creatures of the night.the darkness cannot be stopped. we have the right to exist. when there is life there is always death" that type of thing and after all this is done he transitions into the Lord of Darkness. a Sith that is not even like any of those before him (using lore that is similar to what they did in the MMO of Star Wars the Old Republic) becomes a very powerful Sith like a character except he is more of an Ministry of Darkness cult. They're singular objective is to spread" the purity of evil. the all-encompassing darkness. from which there is no mercy.no hope. no Escape. Aahhhhh!!!!!" And instead of his eyes transitioning from the regular system likewise his eyes just rolled back do you like the wrestler does and does not show his actual lies until the final battle of the storyline. ( this is just something that came out of my head but I would love to be used please someone let me know what they think)
3:29 finally, someone says it. especially empire strikes back that is the most overhyped film i've seen for fantasy. i get it, i understand why, but it's so overhyped that so many star wars fans are so blinded by it that they only see that film just like how dark knight fans will say christopher nolan's trilogy is the greatest batman films ever, but only acknowledge dark knight and that's it
I was born in 1982. Return of the Jedi is my Stars Wars; Ewoks and all. Luke told Jabba release my friend or they’ll be hell to pay. Jabba chose the latter.
I grew up with the original trilogy. I like the prequels that came after but I don't care about what Disney made in the past decade. They are desperate for money and not for good content.
I *LOVE* Revenge of the Sith! I hate the Disney shit (Kenobi and Andor are the only good shows and Rogue One was cool) and it's not canon. Loving your content dude!
Hey, the fans aren't to blame for anything because they wanted different. It was Disney and Abrams that wanted to play things safe because THEY assumed that's what the fans wanted so we got the soft reboot/rehash. Rian wanted to things different and I commend him for that, but it came about at the wrong time which is why TLJ fails to an extent. Abrams then wanted Palpatine to be the overarching baddie by the end of the trilogy because he was such in the original and prequel trilogies and it just makes sense. I DO wish he handled his return better and not made it so brush and that Palpatine as a clone had more to do than be stuck in one location like in Return of the Jedi. Frankly, a sequel trilogy wasn't needed at all. I think we just needed one epilogue movie to wrap up both trilogies that showcased the start of the New Republic and generation of warriors that's both a Jedi/Sith hybrid and call it a day from there.
It is stupid no way she should have won against kylo first time. Like makes no sense regardless of her force potential or force powers. If she lost and barely got away from him and have that defeat affect rey moving forward
Hoo boy. Sorry for the rant. I hope you read it though, it's not very angry. About Luke. You're not wrong, his death was reviled. But I think you missed two details here. First, it was him walking into Ben's room. After he was asleep. Going through his thoughts. Then taking out his lightsaber. That last part, honestly, isn't even the worst in this sequence. It's the fact that he was there to begin with. The second major issue is that Luke did not successfully reestablish the Jedi Order. He failed. Epically. I don't know how much you heard about the expanded universe while dipping your toes in Star Wars. What Disney now call Legends. That was like 40 years of novels, games, comics, radio dramas, and lore books that many of us read and followed along. It got convoluted times, and many of the pre-2002 works didn't realize that the Clones fought for the Republic. But it had some excellent moments, and one of those things was the legacy of the legacy characters. Luke rebuilt the order from almost scratch, and Leia did the same for the Republic. Both institutions survive the turmoils and trials. They don't become this bloated paper tiger for villains to destroy in one button-push. And that's what many of us really hate. Guess who's doing the reconstruction this time round? Rey. They even called her upcoming series the New Jedi Order, which was the name of a long saga of the EU. Maybe one of the best, if controversial. It featured Luke's niece and nephew, Jaina, Jacen, and Anakin (who dies). In that order. They were great kids and worthy successors. Jaina was who we wanted Rey to live up to, and Jacen, Kylo Ren. These characters came into their own without the deaths of Luke, Han, and Leia. Chewie dies though. And it's the most tragic scene ever. Everyone needs a moment after that. So I think you're wrong that Luke shouldn't have survived the sequel trilogy. Instead he died, and having not accomplished what should've been his magnum opus. But yeah, it's not his death that got under my skin. By the way, you missed the best part of TLJ. Rey "Nobody." The new hero not being part of some dynasty was a really cool move. Blew my mind when I saw it. They should've stuck the landing on that one, made her a person with no name. Not Palpatine, not even Skywalker. Just Rey.
Don´t mean to argue or dissagre with Mr Sir Zaffy here. But as touching upon "Mary Sue" issue (wich at the time before part VII I never heard about that thing), an interresting thing I read about The last jedi, before it came out, was that Luke was actually ment to be a woman (first draft of the script and also some arts where done). As for the last 3 (outside Rouge One - whom I liked) I kind a like them; Mainly becouse the effects - yes I didn´t have any higher hopes or expectation on neither. I really enjoy all these videos and the idea on "how the movie should have been". Keep telling it how you see it.
I love your take on Kylo. I was telling people the same thing. The fact that he's unstable and vulnerable. It makes for good writing and possibilities. I thought they were gonna use it! The Sith and the Jedi joining forces was like the only new and interesting thing this series couldve done. Missed opportunities all around. Don't get me started on Fin & Rey. But that, it's the fan's fault I don'tunderstand. 1st, most of the Disney Star Wars movies were disliked by EVERYONE. Second, the fans are saying exactly what you are saying here. No one is saying they wanted just the old shit Maybe the brain dead ones who jizz when they hear a lightsaber. You've mentioned this before, it's the recycling of past movie plots, that's Disney bro, thats all they got. They've been doing that since The Force Awakens. The fans just wanted good Star Wars.
You somehow missed the fact that Kylo was made the main villain after losing to Rey twice. It felt like a bad joke since he’s no threat to Rey. Also blaming fan backlash for them writing palpatine back in is ridiculous, they could’ve simply written a halfway decent conclusion with the trashfire The Last Jedi left.
I don't think it was because Luke got killed off (I was pretty satisfied with how he went out), it was because the rest of Luke's appearance was an angry grumpy old man who drank green milk. People were so excited about seeing Luke in action again & seeing this broken old man wasn't what most fans I imagine were looking forward to. Another problem with the film I had was Capt. Phantasma. She was a really built up character & the clash between her & Finn was underwhelming.
It weird to me. The Jedi Order basically abduct kids to train them for their whole lives, and only so many of them become competent at fighting the Sith. Then Luke goes on a 4 months bootcamp, and he's expected to be Yoda, and rebuild the Jedi system from the ground up, during Balance? He was obviously used, in the best case scenario by fate. It's not strange, that he became disillusioned. And he's drinking Green Milk, pretending that it does the same as Blue Milk, so he can explain where all his Force powers went away to. And he won't have to admit, that he's probably dead (Dark Side Ghosts tend to be stuck in a specific location). Maybe there's something curse related with Finn and Phasma - he couldn't kill her, but he had been opened to become a hand puppet/battery pack for Rey. Maybe the witch kiss changed that in some way.
You say you didn’t like Obi Wan Vs Anakin in Revenge of the sith. But you enjoy the light saber battle with Kylo and Rey Vs Snoke’s Royal Guards…. Yeah done listening.
I used to be a die hard Star Wars fan, but I actually agree with you about the last Jedi BUT to me, the reason why I hate the movie is the treatment of Luke. Nothing else The way he didn’t get a redemption arc, died of a heart attack. AND the follow up movie didn’t redeem him either..
For somebody who's not a Star Wars fan this was one of most insightful takes on the whole series. Glad you liked Ep 3 it was my first ever DVD and still my fav episode
Your constructive criticism is really welcoming. Star wars has way more complicated issues behind the scenes. No joke either, and you hit the nail on the head. The sequel trilogy was a train wreck. I would've preferred a brand new story but we got this mess. With how it's being milked now, Star Wars either needs to go away for a long time (no movies or shows) and stick to books and comics or just be left behind in the past. The original trilogy was great, prequel was okay till the third film. But the sequels were not handled well at all. Star Wars is a fun escape but its not that important at the end of the day.
The new Jedi order was way better, it was actually something new, crazy powerful aliens, gangs etc, but having sith again is boring, dark Jedi would’ve made more sense
I said the same thing that it should have been a cult aka the knights of ren, instead of them being throwaway nothing villians. Kylo's offer to Ray would have been compelling if the cliffhanger was her saying yes to him, contrasting Luke's no to Vader in empire. It's not the fans fault though the writers wrote garbage. The fanbase would give them good ideas if they'd listen. I guarantee NO fan would say yes to Palpatine returning.
Just came across your channel, so it's probably creating some buzz in the algo for whatever reason. I first found it fascinating how, apparently without being familiar with the lore or the fandom, you came to between 80%-90% of the same conclusions that I've seen most Star Wars fans come to about the Disney sequels. Which made it very disappointing to me when you laid the failure of the Rise of Skywalker at *their feet.* As a Star Wars fan: 1. I agree with you that the issue wasn't that the old characters were killed off. That's acceptable. But there's a right way to do it, and bringing them in to have them do very little and then die came off as a bait and switch. In fact, their inclusion at all was a bait and switch to the actors themselves, who believed they were coming back to a film directed by George Lucas. What angered me the most wasn't that they died, it was that they were *squandered.* And, as some others have acknowledged, their character progression and achievements were all basically assassinated of undermined. Luke was such a revolutionary Jedi, he managed to redeem Darth Vader, something probably almost no other Jedi would have believed possible. Luke faced the near certainty of his own death, and quite probably the deaths of all his friends, rather than fall into Palpatine's temptation. He was able to accomplish this because he shared a common trauma with his father, and had stared into the same abyss. Han Solo was a pragmatic and nihilistic mercenary, who was inspired by Luke and Leia to begin caring about the fate of the Galaxy. Having him traipsing about as a smuggler again felt wrong. Leia was probably assassinated the least, but because she had so little interaction with the other characters, or even screen time, before dying, it felt very disappointing. 2. Disney seemed only capable of aping the formula of Star Wars, without really understanding it, or vandalizing it as an act of vanity. When they should have instead built on what had been established, and progressed the story forward, they either forged a pale imitation, or entirely threw out character and lore for the sake of expedience. The Expanded Universe of Star Wars is incredibly vast, and spans 3+ decades of novels, comics, and videogames. They could have cherry picked the best possible ideas from that lore to explore in their sequels, and instead, they chose almost none of it, with the exception of what they could so grossly distort that they wouldn't be required to provide royalties. 3. One of the primary issues of the sequel Trilogy, beyond what I have already mentioned, is that they were absolutely miserable at setting up events that would later be paid off. Though I think there's plenty of blame to go around, it's pretty easy to see how much responsibility rests on JJ Abrams, whose idea of a set-up is something he establishes only to intrigue, with payoff being an afterthought. "Mystery Box" storytelling. And Rian Johnson, whose idea of payoff is to just do whatever you weren't expecting, with no thought to how logically it actually tracks with the broader context. The two of them, operating in tandem were like a match made in hell. JJ operating seemingly without a plan, and Rian serving to sabotage what Chekov's guns were incidentally provided. Together they so thoroughly eroded the organic foundations of the narrative, that by the third film, the story had been left with almost no compelling structural elements on which to stand. Captain Phazma was humiliated in the first film, then fell down a hole in the second (womp womp). Snoke was dead, Hux was a Joke, Kylo had been beaten and humiliated thrice over, and Rey was basically the most powerful Force user remaining in the Galaxy. Who cares if the Resistance had to flee with their tail tucked, they'd been saved by the person who had triumphed over basically every tangible obstacle so far, even without conscious intent, getting Kylo to kill the only Force user who may have conceivably been able to overpower her, just by *making him horny, I guess?* And then there's the Holdo Maneuver (hyperspace ramming) which effectively breaks one of the core features of Star Wars, the *space battles,* by being such an effective strategy that one is bewildered that anyone would ever use *anything else.* 4. In the Expanded Universe lore of the novels and comics, Leia was a major player in galactic politics, her and Han's children were pivotal to decades of major storylines, and Luke became the founder of a new order of Jedi Knights, whose own adventures filled vast volumes of their own with much drama and intrigue. Were all the stories good? No. But that presented an opportunity to Disney to strive to adapt the very best features of the EU, with the benefit of hindsight, into a unified cinematic universe. Instead we got a melty man in a gold bathrobe whose existence is never really explained beyond that I guess he was a weird clone or something. All the Skywalkers are dead. And there's basically no one left from legacy canon that anyone could care about except R2D2, C3PO, an aging Lando, and Chewbacca, characters who had previously received comparatively little development. And the hero's reward for beating the evil Empire was the Empire coming back and destroying almost everything they'd built. Imagine if episode 10-12 basically just did this again. Hey, here's a subversion, maybe have Kylo *survive,* unlike Vader. Imagine whatever is rebuilt from the Resistance having to contend with Rey over the fate of an ex-Sith war criminal. No? He's dead, too? Pity that. Everything is tied off in a neat little bow. Where do you even go from here? Yeah, that's why I, a Star Wars fan, am annoyed. The prequel trilogy was disappointing too, but at least it *felt like Star Wars.* (You're absolutely right that George Lucas is awful at dialogue.)
Do you understand how incredibly short sighted and negligent it is for writers and directors to listen to fans instead of simply making, at the very VERY least, a coherent trilogy? I actually agree with almost everything you said, then you end it by concluding, “look what you fans did by not liking the movie I didn’t really like either!” The fans HATED the first two prequels and George Lucas still managed to end that trilogy with what many fans consider to be their FAVORITE of all the Star Wars movies. So based on your conclusion, my conclusion is you rode the short bus to school. I honestly don’t know how else to explain your “Thanks a lot, FANS!” I mean, Jesus man, just how short of a bus was it?
I grew up seeing the original trilogy in theaters and even as a kid, the attraction was more about the cool creatures, spaceships, weapons, etc than any genuine interest in the story or lore. The original definitely had better written characters though. Going forward from the originals, i found the movies either boring or mildly entertaining. Bad writing is the true dark side
There are few things in the world that I despise as much as the new trilogy and its creators/abusers. The worst example of a despicable cash grab. An empty cold soulless product.
If Luke went out like obi wan what they wanted to do in New hope a actually fight. See something we couldn't back then in a way. After knowing that everyone got off world then giving up like obi wan did or similar. Clearly he couldn't beat him. Even still keep the force project trolling to buy extra time
This is a longer comment so just a heads up. I strongly disagree with killing off legacy characters, there are so many other ways to put them aside in a story without having to kill them off. The cult idea is genius by the way, that would have been an insanely better story than just Empire 2.0 and Rebels, ahem, I mean Resistance. I have a way cooler concept for the fight between Luke and Kylo at the end of Last Jedi, that works narratively and could keep them both alive for the next movie, I'll describe it below if you care to read it. As for Rise of Skywalker, most of the movie is shit, the fight between evil Rey and good Rey should have been 5-10 times longer. The Palpatine returning and Rey being the granddaughter is trash and literally anything else would have been better, I'm about to repeat myself but the cult idea really is genius by the way. Luke and Kylo fight in Last Jedi: First thing is Last Jedi had a bullshit ending, Luke showed no courage in the face of his enemies, pretended to wipe dirt off his shoulder, did a couple of fake dodges, taunted his opponent, then died. Total wasted potential. What would have been a million times better from a cinematic view, and still demonstrate "The way of the Jedi" is the following: Have Luke actually ON the planet with his GREEN lightsaber. Have him easily DEFEND continuous thrusts and slashes, doing a few cool flips and dodges without effort. Have Kylo use a couple classic Force attacks and Luke use the environment to disrupt them. Then after tiring out Kylo, with him lost in frustration, make the escape with the rest of the heroes. BOOM, end credits. If you're coming at me with "but why wouldn't Luke kill Kylo" or something along those lines, first off he already fucked up and wouldn't because we saw his issue with that in the middle of the movie. In what would be the next movie, Luke is training Rey, we can include Leia training her too because why not. Both Luke and Leia have issues with fighting/killing Kylo so they're going to have Rey confront him like how Luke confronted Vader. Since the trilogy is a repeat of the previous one we can either have her redeem him and then have him resurrect Rey like what we saw in the movie. As for the origin of Rey, come up with anything other than the Palpatine granddaughter thing, maybe a half clone from Lukes hand and a human mother to explain why Rey is a female.
Changing things is fine bro but when your working on ep 8 of a framchise you cant change who established characters are so drastically. Luke wouldnt ever attempt to kill his nephew who is asleep. So may og characters are just not acting like themselves. Change the direction of the story change the theme of the story whatever you want but what you dont do is 100% destroy beloved characters for the sake of shock value or subverting expectations. And then you like disney blaming us for the rise of skywalker? No disney had no vision for the movies and they scrambled to make that abomination. Disney ruined star wars not us. Because they threw Way all of georges stcripts and they erased the eu. If you were a star wars fan you would get it
TFA shots itself in the foot when it didn’t have actual Jedi mentor to fight Kylo ren and the explanation how Rey can fight him is dumb and cheating basically she pretty much download every skill that Kylo ren has in the torture room the writer just rip off the Matrix.
I don't like star wars (I don't particularly dislike it either) and most movies I've seen just once. But I wanted to point out that the EA games Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor are absolutely awesome. Those are the first Star Wars things I actually felt a connection with, hopefully the third game is good too
Relax dude. Revenge on the sith is peak and also my favorite of the saga the last fight might have been like a chinese fight movie dance but for me it was awesome when i saw that as a kid and to this day. Of course, i made the mistake of watching a marathon in a chronological way😂 thinking that episodes 4 through 6 were newer than 1 through 3
The problem for me with revenge of the sith, is, what are they getting revenge for.the jedi didn't attack them or anything.where s the vengeance coming from.?and also the stakes in the fight scenes are low cos we already know how they both die.i would have liked R.O.S.to be about the rise of palpatine ( more indepth) his charisma and then his seducing of anakin.but not through the "dream of padme dying" sequence. Anakin could be drawn to power, and palpatine fulfils that need.the whole dying in childbirth was nonsense, she would have wanted to live for her children.people say palpatine used the force against her but it wasn't shown.princess liea remembered her mother.kylo ren kills his dad in cold blood and then they try to turn rey and kylo into a love story. Yuck.there are so many more problems with these sequels and prequels which is why they are so bad.
The sith want revenge because they were wiped out 1000 years ago that's why darth maul's aappearance was a big deal for the jedi in EP 1 and Anakin turning to the dark side just for power alone removes what makes he's fall compelling and tragic you clearly are just a normie you don't actually know star wars lore
I had a cope/lore feuled schizo analysis that had me crying tears of joy leaving The Rise of Skywalker. Haven't watched It since, because I'm still holding on to that dream, but every trusted source I've come across agrees it was a pile of hot stinking garbage. I'm wondering, like on an ethical-good-for-the-world-level, if cope is such a bad thing. Like, if you can gaslight yourself into liking something, and at the same time acknowledge criticism, and somehow hold those perspectives at the same time in cognitive dissonance, have you just won at that point? I'm baked.
I need to correct you on the "awesome fight scene" as you put it. Search TH-cam for the last Jedi fight scene and there are people that break the battle down and it makes no sense. Its the worst lightsaber battle in all star wars. There is evidence.
@Cinemavigilante cool. A channel owner that isn't immediately a jerk to constructive criticism. I'm amazed. Kudos bud. I made some other comments praising you.
This video will determine if we can remain friends.
Revenge of the sith is my favourite star wars movie I can't lie
I can’t decide between ROTJ and ROTS.
You know what, no. Return Of The Jedi is my favorite, but Revenge Of The Sith is my second favorite.
It’s literally the best one.
The 3rd and 6th movies really are peak star wars
@@LeolaTheElfI agree. I love ROTJ the most when I was a little kid
Empire Strikes Back is my favorite
The problem with Kylo is that he is a LITERAL ripoff of Jason Solo from legends and what was the OG sequels
a poorly written rip off of jason. disney takes concepts from legends and does them poorly because they hire hack writers who dont understand the property, its themes, and characters.
Lucas said those aren't canon
@@tn420animations9 Those books were always meant to be the placeholders if George ever decided to do the sequels. The cannon has always been, books and comics, tv and video games, then the movies at the top.
"Order 69" LMFAO I'm dead AF 🤣
Revenge of the sith is my favorite
Agree , revenge of the sith is the best star wars movie
Fr im so tired of seeing people gaslighting themselves into believing that fight scene is cool
@javierlopez9789 Fool me once shame on you fool me twice, F Disney. I can't unsee how terrible ep 8 and 9 were.
Dying Darth Vader to Luke:
"Let me look at you, with my own eyes"
Man chokes me up everytime. Its so much more than a literal statement, its a metaphor for repealing all of his (Vader's) ideologies.
People keep saying that a character is written badly but they never go into detail on why.
what character would you like to know is terrible/ This should be very easy to explain
Love your take on Star Wars, and thank you for your opinion on it👍👍👍👍
Nice to hear a take from someone who's not steeped in the lore.
You rock!
My favorite thing about star wars has to be bounty hunters, smugglers, and shady dealings.
You channelled Werner Hertzog for a moment there 😂
The fight scene in ROTS is one of the best sword fights ever put to film.
Shad did a three hour dissection of it
I loved how you detailed the difference between kylo and Rey, how much training they had up to the force awakens finale and her turning into a pro. She fights on the level of empire Luke except Luke has 4 years of lightsaber handling.
21:09 Had to use force, I mean “ The Force”
Funny cause the line “Somehow Palpatine returned” aged pretty well now.
It's haunting cause it's him wailing the loss of his love and his body his way of life
Revenge of the sith is such an amazing climax like the movie is awesome fights, drama, music and characters. Just so good what a mic drop
During the third movie at the end where he screams for padme I couldn't help but burst out in laughter in the theater so out of place😂😂😂😂
Obviously I have disagreement but I really respect you putting this out here. Barely anyone hasn't seen these movies so it's super cool hearing a fresh perspective, great job and very nice editing!
Rian Johnson is behind it all. He broke the fandom with his movie.
JJ Abrams is a fraud aswell he was a executive producer on TLJ which means that he approved what Rian Johnson planned Also Abrams set the trilogy up for failure by not having any plan and playing he's mystery box game
JJ and Kathleen Kennedy are responsible aswell
Vader was legit playing with Luke in that fight scene. He already knew who Luke was. But Vader being Vader he didn't hold back to much by the end. Literally fighting Luke one handed. Lvl 1 Jedi Vs Lvl 20 Sith Lord.
Correction.
Samuel L Jackson was eager to have a lightsaber. Then Lucas asked him what color he wanted. Samuel L Jackson asked why there are no purple lightsabers. Lucas explained but then asked if Samuel wanted a purple lightsaber, and he said yes. So no Chad moment.
Awesome fight scene in the red room? lol
people are crazy i tell ya
Then he said he didn’t like Anakin Vs Obi Wan in Revenge Of The Sith. Like huhhhh????
20:40 blaming fans? Yeah you’re done.
Star Trek began the long arduous task of undoing the major mistakes that it inflicted onto itself by decannonizing Star Trek Discovery from the Original Series’s timeline, so perhaps there’s hope that Disney might do the same with the Sequel trilogy…
However, due to much of the problems associated with Disney Star Wars stemming from the higher ups at Lucasfilm (aka Ego) seem to be in the way of any sort of long term reconciliation between the fans and the IP as a whole.
10:31 we do agree with you more than you think in fact
14:21 no no we agree she is a Mary Sue, noone even if they have the best genes, needs training to be able to fight properly. Like Luke is the son of the chosen one and he needed 3 movies worth of training to be a decent jedi.
19:11 no that in fact was the problem and not his death by itself. That and his bad characterisation throughout the movie
Beautiful point out 9:07
6:35 There are 2 things that never get old:
-the youngling jokes
-the younglings.
At least with Anakin we had a bit of build up and could assume what he wanted to turn the galaxy into, albeit from a darker origin
Idk what Kylos struggles were outside of him being pulled towards the light and killing his dad,(amongst likely other people he’s killed).
He just doesn’t seem like a well put together antagonist turned good guy
But ironically he is the most layered character out of all of the new bunch and that’s sayin somethin lol
It was the height of women boss era with Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn n Mad Max. So they had to have a female hero
I loosely followed star wars all my life and I'll be honest it is cool sometimes but it has alot if wasted time, trashy characters and boring stuff.
nah man the originals are classic you gotta rewatch em in a different way cuz those movies were wholesome as hell and the story had heart idk how to explain it fr theyre good movies tho especially ep5 and 6
14:03 your good most people with brain can understand that she would totally lose that fight it makes no sense in the lore at all.
The dialogue can definitely be clunky
you are the uberboyo of movie reviews.😂
You blamed fans for them making a bad movie….???? Okay you’re done.
The problems with the characters was one thing but the the plot, story, lack of cohesion and true plan for the story is what upset people.
absolutely they gas lit us. Im done with Disney. Unsubscribed 8 months ago. After Ashoka was such a disappointment
Actually, Star Wars is suspiciously similar to original DUNE. Just reshaped
Revenge of the sith is also my favorite. It really grabbed me by the balls and hooked me to the franchise as a kid.
3:29 finally, someone says it. especially empire strikes back that is the most overhyped film i've seen for fantasy. i get it, i understand why, but it's so overhyped that so many star wars fans are so blinded by it that they only see that film just like how dark knight fans will say christopher nolan's trilogy is the greatest batman films ever, but only acknowledge dark knight and that's it
Finally somebody who doesnt glaze star wars and actually says what i think😭
The Main reason is that they changed the story around the woman
Zaffy I think you’re my favorite film channel
Also blaming fan backlash for them writing palpatine back in is ridiculous, they could’ve simply written a halfway decent conclusion with the trashfire The Last Jedi left.
the producers are low iq as i mentioned
9:45 that's because Haden was always a great actor. He got a bad rep because Lucas, as you said yourself, can't write good dialogue lmao
Might you read the novelizations or play Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga?
You say you didn’t like Obi Wan Vs Anakin in Revenge of the sith. But you enjoy the light saber battle with Kylo and Rey Vs Snoke’s Royal Guards…. Yeah done listening.
I used to be a die hard Star Wars fan, but I actually agree with you about the last Jedi
BUT to me, the reason why I hate the movie is the treatment of Luke. Nothing else
The way he didn’t get a redemption arc, died of a heart attack.
AND the follow up movie didn’t redeem him either..
@ 14:15 The writers didn't know that she was a Palpatine either lol. Thats all bs that JJ made up when he came back to try and "fix" the last movie. 😂
Rogue One gave me so much hope… Sigh, it wasn’t a New Hope…😢
I think they should have did a ex stormtrooper turned Jedi story it would have been more interesting to me tbh
Of course they did
That’s all they’ve been doing since 2015
Hell, that’s all they’ve been doing since 2005
I don’t think Revenge of the Sith being the favourite would be an unpopular opinion.
For somebody who's not a Star Wars fan this was one of most insightful takes on the whole series. Glad you liked Ep 3 it was my first ever DVD and still my fav episode
Luke could have died saving someone, or several someones, and he got replaced by 😴 💩
Your constructive criticism is really welcoming.
What do you think of the current state of Doctor Who?
Pretty crap for the last few yrs from the little ive seen but im not a big dr who guy, liked matt smiths showing of the character alot tho
Fantastic channel homie.
I agree...somewhat
Which made it very disappointing to me when you laid the failure of the Rise of Skywalker at *their feet.*
As a Star Wars fan:
Who cares if the Resistance had to flee with their tail tucked, they'd been saved by the person who had triumphed over basically every tangible obstacle so far, even without conscious intent, getting Kylo to kill the only Force user who may have conceivably been able to overpower her, just by *making him horny, I guess?* And then there's the Holdo Maneuver (hyperspace ramming) which effectively breaks one of the core features of Star Wars, the *space battles,* by being such an effective strategy that one is bewildered that anyone would ever use *anything else.*
Fair take
Do you understand how incredibly short sighted and negligent it is for writers and directors to listen to fans instead of simply making, at the very VERY least, a coherent trilogy? I actually agree with almost everything you said, then you end it by concluding, “look what you fans did by not liking the movie I didn’t really like either!” The fans HATED the first two prequels and George Lucas still managed to end that trilogy with what many fans consider to be their FAVORITE of all the Star Wars movies. So based on your conclusion, my conclusion is you rode the short bus to school. I honestly don’t know how else to explain your “Thanks a lot, FANS!” I mean, Jesus man, just how short of a bus was it?
6:41 sounds like Nathan from South Park.
Of course, i made the mistake of watching a marathon in a chronological way😂 thinking that episodes 4 through 6 were newer than 1 through 3
If you didn't create the character then you don't have the right to kill him. Simple as that.
Edit: Or resurrect him.
The sith want revenge because they were wiped out 1000 years ago that's why darth maul's aappearance was a big deal for the jedi in EP 1 and Anakin turning to the dark side just for power alone removes what makes he's fall compelling and tragic you clearly are just a normie you don't actually know star wars lore
couldn't have said it better!
I'm baked.
I feel like it took you a little too long to get into the video topic here even though the context of your opinion is nice to know
7:26 nope, i will join you, because it is. it is the best one.
I need to correct you on the "awesome fight scene" as you put it. Search TH-cam for the last Jedi fight scene and there are people that break the battle down and it makes no sense. Its the worst lightsaber battle in all star wars. There is evidence.
agreed, i enjoy the way its filmed more then the way its choreographed tbh
@Cinemavigilante cool. A channel owner that isn't immediately a jerk to constructive criticism. I'm amazed. Kudos bud. I made some other comments praising you.
