I use an upside down stainless steel pot to cook pancakes as it maintains a constant high temperature (as well as using less fuel).
Pancakes need to be cooked quickly on a 'hot' greased surface.
The aluminium fry-pan dissipates heat too fast and is typically too hot or too cold for a well cooked pancake.
As a result, the fry-pan tends to either burn the pancakes or you end up with a gluggy under-cooked mess as well as a very hard to clean fry-pan!

New sub here..just upgraded my PopCan stove to a Trangia stove. Looking for new cook recipes for the new stove..lol. Love Pancakes. great, easy peesy quicky meal. Great stuff. Cheers ;-))
what brand, size stainless steel pot do you use and dose it fit in the trangia kit, very nice idea, it's amazing how many options there are out there for this kit, evernew cross stands are a nice addition for smaller pots or warming up coffee in your kleen kanteen bottles, etc. thanks for posting this video
Thank you for the video and the bowl information.
Well done from Nova Scotia Canada
Roger Mainville Hey Bluenoser! From New Brunswick Canada.
Hi Kevin,
Yes it's very easy to clean --- particularly if you put a small amount of water in with the methylated spirits fuel (generally a good idea to make all Trangia clean-ups easier)
See our "How to use a Trangia lightweight camping stove [Re-visited] by AdventurePro" for more info on water usage in the fuel.
The pot is no harder to clean than if you had used the frypan or pot the 'usual' way.
Thanks for your interest!

Was the pot easy to clean after cooking.
Well, I guess that's what you do if you lose your Trangia frypan, eh? Very innovative!
Hi can i ask if you would encounter problems when using the non stick or hard annodised pots upside down as the flames of the burner would be in direct contact with the coating inside the pot. would that damage the coating do you think?
Maybe make the mix at home and decant to a Nalgene or similar. Not sure why your using a pot instead of the pan but maybe I’m missing something.
Hi sliggins666,
Re: Stainless Steel Pots for Trangias
We can't include links in comment replies, so we have included some information on what and where to buy stainless steel pots for Trangia 25 & 27 models (including links) in the description for this video (see above).
Thanks for your interest!
Why do you use an upturned stainless steel pot? Why not use the trangia's own frying pan?
You'll have to teach them parrots how to speak more clearly. I think one said: "Surely he's not gonna cook them on an upside-down saucepan instead of a frypan!!", and I believe the other said, "It's a good idea as it contains the heat from the stove evenly".
Great video. Noisy birds.
The birds are quaking hard..
