Hope you all enjoy today’s vlog! Heads up that basically every vlog and even some reviews will have “extended cuts” on patreon.com/SamuelPlaysBrass, so for just $5/month, it’s pretty good value :)
@@tubapracticelog9618 It’s a great horn, and honestly not particularly little. There is a WORLD of difference between this and something like a 3-valve Couesnon. One feels like a tuba, and one feels like a euphonium with extra plumbing.
I loved the Holst! Operatic excerpts were really cool! I'm always impressed by the area you live; it's so much like Wisconsin, you'd feel right at home. Except we don't have mountains. ;) I played a Yamaha little YBB tuba when I was in 7th grade. I reckon I sounded awful! LOL
My old high school friend/college roommate was from Wisconsin and FWIW he still likes Spokane, so must be pretty similar :) Yeah, I don’t know about those baby Yamahas… a big Eb is a lot better than a small BBb!
@@leoelantra I agree! An average CC or a large 5-valve Eb is my optimum. I’ve gotten a lot better in the last year at navigating a 4/4 BBb, but it’s not as fun. Slotting is still harder than a CC.

Congratulations! Brass quintet is always fun.
Indeed it is! Thanks Rob!
Beautiful! Well done Samuel!😁👍👏👏👏
Thank you Peter!

That is the perfect tuba for you

Beautiful! What is the song at 5:31?
Thanks Daniel! That’s the Flower Duet from Lakme-I think I attached a video in the card of me playing the bottom line of that same duet on cornet.
@@SamuelPlaysBrass It's so beautiful, thank you!
Is there a vlog of the library gig
Nah that was all movie music that would get my channel taken down so I didn’t bother vlogging.
Do you take song requests?
@@UnicornFairy42 No, sorry. Even without taking requests I have more videos to make than I can possibly get done!
@@SamuelPlaysBrass I was thinking you can do songs from Jim Henson's Animal Jam.
@@SamuelPlaysBrass I gave you an idea, but you didn’t answer me
Not bad, considering tuba’s not ur main horn. :)
@@bobcat24 Thank you!
Wow very nice 👌
Don't you have an old tuba you can donate to me, please?
@@AshwillMalan-gr3ts You’ve asked me this before. Come on. I don’t own a single tuba. Do you seriously think I have the ability to just give one away?
@SamuelPlaysBrass sorry bro. No, I don't think so
