I used to live Broadwater county for a number of years so I know a little history about the lake. For those who don't know, where the lake is now, there was a HUGE farming valley. Some of the houses and a church was moved to higher ground when it was decided to flood the valley creating the lake. That was, I think, back in the late 1800's or maybe early 1900's.
There are a few area's out west that need rain. There are rain dances that seem to work nearly every time I do them. The most successful I use is called "Wash and Wax Your Car"...

After you landed the drone on the other side of the dam you filmed up river from your point of view. The island that you see there is boot hill from the town that was flooded when the dam was filled. There are graves and tomb stones there. Very interesting reading there. I as a teenager spent the night there with family. Pretty wild for a 14 year old kid for sure....lol. I learned how to water ski on Canyon Ferry lake. Keep the vids coming!!!

Smoke kills the fun and chokes out the beauty of our area, sorry you had to go through that. We hate the smoke and the misery it brings, unless you live here or travel here frequently you will never know just how unhealthy and buzz kill it is. Better times coming ahead so hang in there and keep on keeping on. Long live RVer TV... Hit or miss the smoke, toss a coin and hope for the best !
Going thru Townsend reminds me of driving thru many smaller TX panhandle towns with a tall water tower with the name of the town or high school mascot painted on it. Beautiful lake.

The United States sure does have a vast river system. I didn't know that the Missouri River started in Montana and then joined up with the Mississippi River and then all the way to New Orleans !
I’m surprised that you visited Three Forks Mt. and didn’t go to the Head Waters Park where the three rivers , the Gallatin, the Madison, and the Jefferson all come together to form the Missouri R., hence the name Three Forks. That would have made a super drone shot. At one point in that little park you can just about throw a rock into each of the three rivers then turn around and throw one into the Missouri, if you’re a good rock thrower that is. Lol. Most all those little prairie towns have water towers to get water pressure for their city water. A friend and his wife were flying their small plane on a trip from Washington state to North Dakota once , when they kinda sorta got temporary lost over East Montana. This was before good GPS units. They had been dodging thunder clouds first north then south back and forth. They had tried to keep track of how long and how far they had deviated off course when they realized they weren’t sure where they were. His wife, who is also a pilot, having grown up in North Dakota said “all these small towns have water towers with their names on them, just drop down over there and we’ll know exactly where we are”. He told me he knew there was a reason he married her, “she’s smarter than me”.
The smoke is bad, pray they get rain to put the fires out... I'm from small town in Michigan, that kinda reminded me of it... there's no mountains though!! Stay safe!!

Don't know if you are aware that Lewistown has the 3rd largest fresh water spring in the world. The largest? Giant Springs near Great Falls...windiest city in America (avg. 21 mph). Chicago is 10th windiest city.

The entire western US seems to be on fire. The visibility in my neck of the woods (AZ) is awful. There was a 12,000 acre fire just 5 miles north of where I live. Fortunately, it moved north and east away from my little town. I feel bad for the firefighters who have to deal with these fires in 110 degree heat and mountainous terrain. Huge destruction taking place across the west.
Love your videos of the West! Wish there was an "eastern" and "Midwestern" version of RVertv. The country was "settled" from east to west, the eastern part of the country is perhaps 200 years older than that of the West and would be fascinating to see as well. Regardless, keep doing what you're doing, love it!

Scenic route 200 is pretty good. You can follow 287 north and pick it up and head towards Missoula.
Townsend looked a real nice town, and that lake looks almost the size of the island I live on in the UK :-))

Looks like a huge lake, I am surprised there aren’t more boats on it.
You can only use a boat up hear 3 to 4 months out of the year and only on days off of work
We don't have the population like other states yet, also two more huge lakes just downstream from C.C. so plenty of water.
