That streamlined engine is really cool, even though it's missing a bit of side rods. I figured out one way they saved money by using standard solder lugs for part of the eccentric rods! Soldering those in place is tricky if they break off.

I am under the impression that A.C. Gilbert offered the first ready-to-run HO trains.
Bing offered RTR HO in 1922 wind up ..electric in 1925.
