Love the art style of this game, makes me think of fear effect from the old days lol. The demo was pretty good, definitely a wishlist item, kowabunga collection takes precedence over all other games this week. Great review as always!
Man, that Artstyle is just gorgeous, isn't it? This was a little gem, although I played PS5. It got a lot of patches which cleaned up the translation issues and made the combat snappier so I'd imagine it'll be well supported on Switch, too.
I love being in this game when I pick it up to play. The story so far hasn't captured my attention, so it isn't my priority, but I do enjoy the visuals and gameplay! Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻

I was pretty pleased with what I did play, though admittedly I didn't fully commit to the experience so maybe it's better than my initial takeaway. My brain is filled with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 right now and I'm trying to stay focused and get through that before I shift to anything else. The everlasting backlog struggle.

I played the demo after you mentioned it in your recent releases video. Like yourself, I was extremely impressed by the atmosphere created by the graphical and artistic style and the amazing soundtrack, which allowed the story to pull me in more than I anticipated. I did notice the small annoyances you mentioned (performance, some weird translations, a couple of typos) but overall the effort put in this game shines through.
Had no idea this had or was even going to come out for Switch until now, but I’m happy for this. I was only interested in buying XC3 and Metal Slug Tactics this year. That short list is now up to five games thanks to Nier Automata, Megaman Battle Network Collection, and now this lol
It always amazes me how developers can make absolutely beautiful games with the 8Bit style. This game looks gorgeous and the little side games within is ALWAYS a welcomed addition 😍
It’s a misconception when calling the graphics in this 8bit style…it’s simply not. It’s just complex pixel art. If games like this would’ve existed during the 8bit era they would’ve blown our minds.
With some games I don't care much if the main story isn't great, I tend to get sidetracked by other stuff like sidequests and crafting etc so this might be for me! Thanks for another really helpful review.
I’m almost done with the game and it’s OKAY. The combat is pretty alright and the visuals are amazing! I got confused as to how creating chips for your weapons worked so I ended up wasting resources. The story did NOT engage me AT ALL. It was hard to follow. And there is so much letters and pamphlets you can read, but it’s just a bunch of nonsense that I stopped reading them altogether. I love Ann Flores. Her character has style. I would give this game a 6.5/10.
Can I just say: I love that you guys have a patched up series revisiting games that have been patched up by the devs. This game looks amazing. And hopefully it gets patched up. My backlog is crazy. But I’ll pick it up after some fixes.
This game looks awesome! I will have to keep an eye on it… Maybe an early Christmas present to myself. But I have to choose between this and Cult of the Lamb. And then there is Signalis… oh my back log is getting heavy.
Tried the demo and while it’s definitely fun and I love the art style the text is way to small especially more since I play on the Switch Lite. Thank goodness the switch has the Zoom feature but hopefully they patch it so you can increase the text size. Will probably wait for it to go on sale since I’ve already got an extensive backlog.

I LOVE that this game has a demo. I downloaded it yesterday and liked it enough to see if you had a review out because I'm considering spending my HARD earned money on it. I wouldn't have been able so discover this game without a demo! The art style is fantastic, and who doesn't love a dope cyberpunk setting?
I got the physical release from limited run for the ps5, I’d much rather prefer a physical for the switch for this type of game. I guess I’ll have to wait and see.
Its a great game just bc how well the cyberpunk world is established and sucks you in. My biggest gripe is the in and out voice acting, when you expect spoken dialogue there is none and vice versa. They should left it out althogether.
Picked up the demo a few days back and I was surprised how much demo there was. It just kept going. I really enjoyed exploration, combat, and of course the art and music. Hope there's something they can do to help framerate but at this point it's really not on a bad enough level to keep me from wanting to grab it. Cool review, sorry good ol' youtoob cut your video lol

limited run shipped out their copies so there is a physical now, just might be harder to get if you didnt preorder.

I was pretty much sold until the issue with the tiny text was mentioned. When you already have bad eyesight, microscopic text is a killer.

The art style and camera work sort of feels like a zoomed in Xenogears, i really like it. Seems like a good choice for a Xenogears remake (dreaming)

No it’s more the environment. Larger areas cause issues check out the framerates in the performance segment
