Not only an amazing Corp, but an amazing dedication to your art! From it's inception...finishing as low as you could, to the strains of It Is... Hard work, perserverance, lots of blood, sweat and tears, and an indominable spirit can get you far, but you've got to have something that I call "yougottawanna," and you've got to have even more of it than all of the other combined. I fell into watching Carolina Crown simply because it was "suggested" by TH-cam that I watch it. I'm still delerious from watching every bit that I can, and I've had only 4 hours of sleep since Friday when I started listening. My head hurts from squeezing the headphones against my ears so tight that I can't hear anything but Crown! I'm so looking forward to when CoVid is over so things can return to some sense of normality, because then, I will search out the nearest DCI event and PRAY that Crown is in attendance. I'm sure there may be others worthy of listening to, but Crown has spoiled me - starting with "Dropping the Hammer," and who knows how much farther it will go. I'm hitching my waggon to the Crown, and I've put new "Oh $hit" bars on the sides of the waggon so I don't fall off. Waggonmaster...forward!!!!
There are some serious symbolic touches in the later shows - 2015 ends with the mellos bringing out the 9th of the chord, representing the nine rings of Hell, but also the nine rings of Heaven from Dante's full Divina Commedia. Then in 2012 we have two rotating cubes in the drill, ending with the DM literally spinning a cube around himself; 2013 follows with a rotating pyramid - take the 2012 cube and the 2013 pyramid and stack the latter on top of the former, and you get the constellation Cepheus... Reading the names of the shows from 2012-2021 (1221 palindrome) all together as a single phrase is also very interesting: For the Common Good, E=mc^2 (bending spacetime); Out this World Inferno, Relentless, It Is (a) Beast Beneath the Surface... etc.
also, during the drum break in 2015, the brass do an upside down rotating pyramid, to add on to the satanic symbols. Cool little reference to 2013's pyramid as well as being used to push the story of 2015 at the same time
@@benjitrombone4701 2019 NO doubt about it. I will say that a couple of those crown sets takes quite the imagination to see it. 2017 2018 come to mind in particular.
I still can't believe that Crown has only won once!! I'd argue that they have had two or three other shows better than their Championship E=MC2 show too.
I really enjoy the 2022 version, I just wish they held it a bit longer. I heartily approve of the versions where they faithfully reconstruct the actual Corps logo (minus the trumpet rays inside)
so heartbreaking when the designer team left, but life goes on. rebuilding team isn't that easy, but we are strong. those traitor doesn't deserve that spotlight! go crown !

During The crown set from 2006 I’ve never heard contras project so much and be so clearly heard. Incredible
They do the same sequence in the closers of 2009 and 2010 too! It’s really neat and beefy

My favorite crown set is the vintage jester looking one in beast 2018.
