How exciting! I’m on my 5th DCT bike from Honda and 1 YCCS bike from Yamaha! These are awesome systems but they do have a learning curve. Everything a rider can do either way a traditional clutch lever, and experienced DCT rider can do as well. Once you learn how to use it be, you won’t go back! I finally get my first KTM! Well done!
Sounds like automatic done right. I would still however stick to manual with a up/down quick-shifter as this is 100% enough for me. Meanwhile, pulling a clutch is a part of motorcycle enjoyment that I am not willing to give up for some convenience when cruise control is used. Good to have options I guess.
It's just like the Reklus powerpart of KTM RC 390, but better. Now the main question is, will AMT be availble as a powerpart option for older models? I hope KTM can develop upgrades for older models too. I love riding the RC, and this option if installed in the BS3 model could cater to older riders most especially to those who are suffering from aging dilemmas.
KTM FTW 💪🏼👏🏼 a lot to digest but they have covered ALL the bases with their automatic implementation. One touch I like is the choice of paddle or shift lever.
Two questions 1) how does it work when you are coming to a stop, do you just apply the brake and it goes into neutral when stopped, most people are used to dipping the clutch 2) I’m guessing the model in the vid is the new 1290 Super adventure R, is there a release date for this?
Hi Peteski 1~ When coming to a complete stop the bike will go down to 1st gear. 2~ The bike in the video is a Prototype KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE, the first bike has already been launched with AMT that is the KTM 1390 SUPER ADVENTURE S EVO with more models to follow in the future
@@diete_exploring5936I’ve seen the evo, more keen on the adventure r, this prototype with spoked wheels, 21 inch front wheel, 18 rear, high front mudguard etc points to more an R model. Keen to know when it’s likely to land as it’s mentioned R in press releases but not signs in the ktm marketing. On the gearing, keen to feel how this works, if you’re not dipping a clutch, sitting in first can be problematic, I assume it will work like car auto so instead you applying the brake to hold 🤷🏼
They Use Centrifugal Clutch Engagement. Like Rekluse EXP 4.0. So basically, clutch pack can disengage itself when engine rpm goes down. but normally TCU will downshift the sequential gearpack to lower gear, followign Shift diagram. This system have some critical issue that other AMT system doesn't have. so i guess they will not adapt this technique into R model. that kind of genre require precise clutch control.
It seems KTM made something for both worlds . U can customize it , only difference you don't have a clutch. I would not mind this system. As for the videographer that thought it was a good idea to film towards a window... Proud of your work? 🤣
I think it's really neat. I don't get why people get so upset about losing their manual gearbox, while a quickshifter has almost been the most requested feature on modern bikes.. eliminating using the clutch for 90% of gear shifts 😂
it's amazing how they managed to squeeze all of that without much additional weight either way, the problem of quality control, and flawed designs still persist. your LC8c platform is flawed by design, whether it's bad quality cam material or problem with the precision of the oil gallery drilling, your engineers didn't account for such thing, maybe an additional oil pump or additional/bigger oil paths would've helped. what's worse is that it's still unresolved with no newer part numbers and yet you kept on releasing newer models without fixing the issues with the current models
Ktm Bought a 1290 sas 2023 , never going to buy KTM ever again, abs pump issue causing panic brake randomly, started to have coolant lost 250ml in 4 days and counting , paint peeling everywhere on the clutch bracket and reservoir , battery drain issue , between 50-80km the steering will wobble uncontrollably , if you let go and will also go right instead of straight. There was also a chemical / electrical smell when starting in the garage KTM dealer said everything was "normal" . The adaptive cruise control took them a month to fix . I traded it and never looking back , lost thousands but that was better then keeping it. Dangerous bike. Believe everything you see in forums about KTM , it’s not exaggerated. Extremely unreliable!
For your cooling leak, i had a similar one, it what the hose of the liquide pump, wrong mounted in Factory. My dealer replace de intake pump part and the hose (non leak After). For the handling bar situation, same for me, and it severely decrease when i replace the front tire (by a Dunlop contitrailattack).
Just watched a long time review of 1390 Super Duke with optional comfy seats and apparently they are great. No clue about stock ones though and this Super Adventure… have not seen a single review yet.
I love KTM. I own a 1290. I've had 3 of them. I've from each generation. I DON'T WANT AN AUTOMATIC. I hope there's a full manual version. Who's asking for this??
Handlerbar shift buttons should be in reverse , makenuse of the inertia ...minus buton towards driver plus towards front wheel...like honda dct. Whoever made the decision on those buton-postions obviously doensn't ride bikes ....
I don't agree with this system. No Clutch Actuator Used Just Centrifugal Clutch Engagement. Means, the Dog Ring in each gear will got shock when system shifting the gear during traction is generated. Also, Centrifugal Clutch Engagement makes a lot of sludge when user drive that system in low demand, city drive conditions. It will stuck the oil circulation system(also filter elements) The bike, Especially Travel bike is not just toy. Reliable Transportation. DO NOT push the biker into the expectable dangerous.

"Everything a rider can do either way a traditional clutch lever, and experienced DCT rider can do as well" Ok. Show me a 4th gear clutch up, genius!

If this means more people riding motorcycles then I'm all for it. Cheers, KTM.
Awesome features, great job KTM.
Very good to see this from ktm team😊

Good job guys !! This is amazing!!! I can’t wait to change my 2023 1290 s with this .!! 🫡❤️

This is well explained I don’t think the other brands have it as good as this…..
KTM. My Love , My Pride , My Life ❤🤩💪
CF MOTO execs: did you copy the AMT files?
Bring this to the GT.
As long as we can still do skids and wheelies thats all that matters, I love kTm😁.
can't be any clunkier than my smcr ... don't get me wrong , I love it anyway

Can't clutch dump like you can with a normal clutch
This is correct 😂😂
Is that the new 990?
it's amazing how they managed to squeeze all of that without much additional weight

As KTM long time customer, I wonder if this is what we, the hardcore customers, asked for…
try it first to see for yourself

So you can come up with AMT, but can't make a comfortable seat ¬_¬
😂 seriously

My 890 SMT seat is pretty comfy

There is a normal SAS
Make Twin cylinder, mid range RC bikes for India. To rival Kawasaki Ninja 500, Aprilia RS457!
Bored of this seeing every day upload few new Adventure 390 25 edition.
Today i bougt duke 390🥳🥳🥳
When will ktm duke 250 cc come to Bangladesh?
😮😮
I would love a brake lever on the left handle bar.
