This looks much better than the previous version, the previous version just looked like an Aston trying to be a Huracan. This looks like its own car but I still prefer the 911.
The previous gen Vantage looked good from the rear up until you got to the face where it looked like some sort of fish. It was the headlight's mainly that looked off....This update corrects that , the Vantage is now a LOOKER ! from nose to tail imo. simply changing the headlight's makes a massive difference. The interior is now on Point. More power , ye ! I'll have this over a 911.....Excellent job Aston 9/10
Hard disagree. I've loved Astons for the better part of 2 decade's but the rear lights on this gen vantage are just a mess and really take it down a notch for me. The tailights of the DB9 era were just so much more beautiful. I get that they're trying to invoke the classic Aston grille shape in these taillights, but it's kinda offputting to be honest.
What a stunner...the Vantage is finally back to it's old self again and a million miles away from that awful looking MX 5 front end that had absolutely no business gracing the front of an Aston Martin and the interior is perfect as well ...well done Aston Martin...stunning 👌👌👌
It is not a 911 rival except in the showroom, but then it’s going to appeal to a different buyer or the same buyer for different reasons. Both great cars in their own right I suspect just not really comparable.
No one will buy this, because they wanted a Porsche. Publications should stop always comparing every new Vantage with a 911. Buy this if you prefer this, buy the Porsche if you like that, buy both if you like both.

I think it looks better in this colour spec, rather than the bile yellow. I think it would be better still though if it was a bit smaller and lighter. It's now quite wide and 1600KG. If it was around 1300KG it would be so much more nicer to drive. Not that I'll ever to get see one never mind drive one.
I would take this over Porsche 911 or AMG GT. They have done an awesome job on the interior design which was dated before. A beautiful car, I ordered the Lexus LC 500 before this was released, but I will see if I can get a two year old one in the next couple of years.
Good upgrades and improvements. Kind of looks like the lovechild of a 911 and Jaguar F type. To compete with 911, it needs to have a base version at a lower price point
@@CARmagazineTV haha true though even Mercedes new GT63 has all wheel drive this is a dinosaur, try thrashing it in wet or with the slightest bit of frost, gt for me anyday.
The previous look matched was closer to the db10 show car where the slender front and rear lights balance out the car. The new design makes the front look super heavy and dramatically less elegant. This appear to have been the easy way for Aston which is to regurgitate the on-77 design and graft it onto a Vantage. Unsurprisingly they did that with the Valour as well... These two all built on the same Vantage chassis.... Wanted something more original from Aston but perhaps due to their lack of funds this is what they come up with....
The dash is a lot better. It reminds me of older generation Porsche’s which had that button festooned sloping dash layout…like here! As for the looks of this and the DB12…not so keen I’m afraid. They look fat and overly aggressively styled too, especially that huge new grill up front.
I just checked the Aston Martin page. This is a transmission car, so the gearbox has been moved from the rear axle to in front of the driver. This will make for a much less special driving experience. Just a fancy F type.
absolutely no good in wet roads, cant get the power down , no grip, just watch the Grand Tour where Clarkson shows this very well!!! needs 2b 4wheel drive!!!
This now fully invalidates the DB12, which already had been a slap in the face for abandoning the v12 right when it was time for DB12. Db12 has 30more hp but .2sec slower -60? They're basically the same car, but the Vantage will cost 40-60k less?
655hp is the entry level, if anything, a special edition with more power will appear (F1 V2 perhaps). No word at all on a manual, but none of the last range of production models; Vantage, DB11, DBS, DBX were blessed with a manual. Only a couple of the limited edition specials they produced such as the Victor had one. So, I'd say that's an almost definite no.
I want to buy one but I heard the reliability is really bad just like Range Rovers. It's the only reason why I haven't got one yet but they look so nice.

No. You buy a Porsche because you enjoy an engaged driving experience. You buy an Aston Martin because you enjoy cruising in style. It is possible you enjoy both. And if so, you buy a Ferrari 296 GTB.
It looks indeed nice. Interior improved indeep. Fine. Unfortunately, however, the plus in power is almost comletely equalized by the significant additional weight. Truth be told, the resulting weight is a clear disappointment. In order to be really competitive, the curb weight should not surpass 1,550 kg, ideally it would be even below 1,500 kg. That would help the handling a great deal - in particular vis-a-vis the Porsche 911 and the respective Ferraris. Weight kills performance, handling and agility. Aston could do so much better.
Love it but would wait a couple of years for depreciation. Not worth the MSRP they are asking especially considering how much the out going model has dropped in value.
